The $26 bareMinerals Lipspectacular Set Brings All the Boys to the Yard

November 14th, 2014 by Karen 18 Comments

bareMinerals Lip Spectacular
Big kiss!

You know that moment after a looong day when you finally take off your false lashes and your Spanx? Yeah, the six glosses in the $26 bareMinerals Lipspectacular set feel even better than that.

They’re just so smooth and creamy and oh, my friggin’ goodness! — comfortable. And not sticky at all.

Normally, I encourage you to break up your holiday lip sets to spread the love, but no, don’t do that with this one. Keep all six of these glosses for yourself. 🙂

All six shades are totally wearable, from the pale pink one (Forbidden Nude) to the deep blackberry (Moody Berry). Moderately pigmented and creamy (no glitter here), they handle business suits and boardrooms as well as t-shirts and jeans.

Or t-shirts and stretchy pants…’cause that’s what I wear when I get In-N-Out cravings.

Speaking of which, I love those damned vanilla shakes, and these glosses taste and smell a little like ’em.

Mmm, vanilla shakes…

The bareMinerals Lipspectacular set includes…

  • Mini Marvelous Moxie Buttercream Lipgloss in Forbidden Nude (buffed pink)
  • Mini Marvelous Moxie in Must-Have Pink (antique pink)
  • Mini Marvelous Moxie in Juicy Mango (coral pink)
  • Mini Marvelous Moxie in Flirty Mauve (toasted mauve)
  • Mini Marvelous Moxie in Sassy Sorbet (strawberry crème)
  • Mini Marvelous Moxie in Moody Berry (blackberry currant)

0.07 fl. oz. each

Heck, the set is only $26! That’s not bad at all, and it’s available now exclusively at Ulta stores and ulta.com.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S.
TGIF!

Oh God! Just ordered this set last week and have been checking the mailbox everyday! I love the original marvelous moxie lip gloss, but want to have more color than sparkles, hope this does the trick!
Now got more excited cuz you wrote this review.

And I have a quick question to ask you: my upper lip are darker than lower .. (I don’t know what happened to them), so I am always looking for sth with more coverage. Do you have any recommendation? I need more coverage than ysl rouge lip shine. And also do you use anything to cover your own lip color before you do the lip?

    Thank you so much. TGIF…

      Hi Gloria,
I don’t want to butt in on any answer from Karen but (ha!)-

I just bought Bobbi Brown’s lip liners in Pale Mauve and Ballet Pink to use underneath lip glosses (like NARS Belize and Corsica) because my lips are berry-pigmented and using these pencils as a base lets the true color of the gloss shine through.

Plus, I find the gloss (or even lipstick) lasts longer with the pencil base.

I’ve discovered that lip pencils are for more than lining lips! Sometimes I use them just by themselves on my lips. Their textures have gotten better over the years so it’s not like dragging a piece of chalk over your lips!!

          Enjoy exploring!

I love the Marvelous Moxie lip glosses. I got one in an ipsy bag and then I had to buy another one. I like how small they are. I’m using one of those sock bun things in my hair today and it’s totally big. I learned never use one of those things when you go to kickboxing because it’s hard to do sit-up or any floor exercise with a giant bun in your hair.

Say “hi” to Tabs for me!

Hi Karen! so which gloss set would be better, this one or the sephora set you reviewed earlier? Could you also tell me if the sephora set is made in china? Big thanks!

Those glosses sound epic! I’m liking the sorbet and the berry, but they all look really nice and wearable!

I second Melissa on your hair looking awesome. That bun, man! I wish I could do that with my hair, but it’s butt-length now, and I’m not sure where it would all go in an updo, ROFL!
