Unsung Heroes: BECCA Papaya Beach Tint

February 20th, 2013 by Karen 24 Comments

BECCA Papaya Beach Tint
Wearing BECCA Papaya Beach Tint ($25) on my cheeks and lips, available now at BECCA counters, Sephora stores and online

Just added to my list of “Things I’d Like to Do Someday”: eat a papaya (one of my favorite fruits) at the beach (one of my favorite places).

I got the idea from BECCA’s $25 Beach Tint in Papaya, which of course I’ll be wearing when I eat said papaya at said beach. 🙂

This water-resistant lip and cheek tint is one of the newer batch of Beach Tints launched last fall. Described as a “hot red” by BECCA, I call it a “hot reddish, orangey/coral.” With bad-@ss pigment. Can’t forget that.

I’ve been loving it lately, and not just because of the pigment. It’s also a cinch to apply on cheeks and lips, and all it takes are fingers.

With spring approaching, I’ve been crushing harder than usual on corals in general, and I think Papaya worn as a blush on cheeks pairs purrfectly with bold coral lip colors like Tom Ford’s True Coral and Hourglass Muse.

Please note the fluffy orange tum…

Like the other BECCA Beach Tints, Papaya smells and tastes almost good enough to eat. Not quite like a tree-ripened papaya sliced open in front of you at a farmers’ market on Kauai (CALGON, TAKE ME TO HAWAII!!), but still delicious — equal parts pineapple, coconut and strawberry with a sprinkle of Sweet Tarts.

NOM!

The long-running Unsung Heroes series features some of my favorite permanent collection products from a variety of bodacious beauty brands. 🙂

Medium and darker olive lovelies and other gals with a tan, Papaya should look extra tasty on your skin tone. Give it a closer inspection next time you stop by a BECCA counter, stroll through a Sephora store, or browse around the BECCA website online.

Speaking of things I want to eat…

Blueberry pancakes for dinner?

For reasons I can’t quite explain, all I’ve been wanting to eat this week are breakfast foods. I actually just made French toast and scrambled eggs for lunch.

The French toast? Epic. I was feeling adventurous, so I tried something new — honey whole wheat bread dipped in a mix of vanilla almond milk, vanilla extract, one egg and a tablespoon of melted honey.

Seriously, my cooking ain’t all that, but these were so good they made my eyelids quiver!

It’s only been a couple hours, and I could eat another stack again…

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Oooh so lovely! I love how the Beach Tints always look so crazy scary in the tube but once on the cheeks, it’s very sheer and pretty and wearable! I can’t wait to start growing my Beach Tint collection! (I only have 2 minis at the moment. Sad face!!)

The french toast you made sounds so good! I love me some vanilla almond milk. I just used some last night to make a chai latte.

This beach tint is definitely calling to the coral lover in me!

      Hi Heidi,

I haven’t tried chai with vanilla almond milk yet. It sounds good though! Do you use the Trader Joe’s one? It’s my fave.

I like the Trader Joe’s one, too. Lately I’ve been enjoying Celestial Seasoning’s Sweet Coconut Thai chai tea. So yummy.

This color is so intense in that swatch, but it sheers beautifully on you! And loving that breakfast crave! I had one last week when all I wanted was bagels and cream cheese! Did you know there is salmon cream cheese!?

I did! Have you ever had it on a bagel with a slice of tomato? SO GOOD! 😀

Really?! I must try that some time! Towards the end of the week I have been putting the bagel in the toaster, spread a thin layer of cream cheese or putting a fried egg down.

Try it. It’s delish. Some people like it with tomato and a thin slice of sweet onion. 🙂

I’ll have to try it with the fried egg sometime. Thanks for the idea!

Fact 1: I love ’em Beach Tints. Fact 2: I heart Hourglass Muse. Won’t take too long till I grab this one it seems! Such a perfect shade for warm-toned girls!

I love that you used Tabs as a backdrop for the product, haha. I really like tints but have trouble blending them so that they look like a natural flush. I think this would be so pretty when I’ve got my summer tan though, so maybe I’ll be adventurous and try it then.
