A Dashing Duo: Benefit They’re Real Shadow Blender in Bombshell Brown, and One of the Best Musical Duos of All Time

All I have to say is this: golden brown deliciousness. Of the three new Benefit They’re Real Duo Shadow Blenders I’ve tried so far, Bombshell Brown is my favorite.

I think the two shades in it have the loveliest finishes.

I am *so* particular about shimmers and shimmery products. I’ll admit it — sometimes I’m a frost hater, especially when the shine comes with gigantic grains of powder. But the two shadows in this duo are much more satiny than super shiny frost.

I’m also wearing Chanel Noir Petrol Stylo Yeux on my lash lines and Hourglass Radiant Bronze Light Bronzer and Radiant Magenta Blush on my cheeks

This duo really makes my eyes look bigger and sexier, and I’m a big fan. By the way, I keep trying to use the round sponge applicator it comes with, but it ends up a hot mess, so I just use regular eyeshadow brushes instead.

I dunno… Maybe I can re-purpose the sponge brush and use it like a mini beautyblender for the inner corners?

Bombshell Brown has a light golden beige (I want a HUGE pan of this color. It’s perfection!) and a mid-toned golden brown, and both are totally my jam.

I’m wearing the golden beige in the inner part of my lids and the mid-toned golden brown in the outer corners, both applied with a domed blending brush that I wet with a few spritzes up Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix.

I just might love this duo as much as I love Hall & Oates…which happens to be one of my favorite musical duos of all time.

Growing up, I blasted their songs whenever they came on the radio, and trust me — you haven’t lived until you’ve sang Rich Girl at a karaoke bar.

What was their deal, anyway? Were they BFFs? Were they dating? And did they go to the same hair stylist? Because both of them had dope ’80s hair!

You make my dreams come true

Watching your every move

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I love this shade.. let’s get real-it’s a warm satiny brown, so I was always going to love it! I need to resist, though-I definitely have too many in my current collection!

I love the finish on that shadow. Just my kind of satiny shimmer. Need to look into these next time I’m near a Benefit counter.

Haha, 80s music and the looks on men. It is frightening and highly enjoyable at the same time, and I keep wondering how it affected my taste in men.

Have to try These! Haven’t ordered Benefit in awhile except for gimme brow. I live near Darryl Hall in Connecticut and my husband&I went to his restaurant Darryl’s House in NY. Mad crush on him! Unreal hair, you’re right lol

I love Hall and Oates! I was lucky enough to see them here in Edmonton around maybe 2009? Gotta love that “smooth music”:)

Hi Karen!! I agree with you about Hall and Oates, but I’m biased, because they are from my area, in Pennsylvania. They grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and went to college at Temple University. No, they never dated, but were college buddies. LOL!! They were the best. Darryl still does a lot of singing…he has such a soulful voice. One of my favorites is a song called “Fall in Philadelphia.” Happy Valentine’s Day!!

      Hi Sherry,

Believe it or not, I’ve never heard your fave song! Looking it up today, right after I listen to “She’s Gone” for the millionth time. 🙂
