Dior Bird of Paradise Collection Peacock 5-Couleurs Eye Palette: A Friday Date Night Face of the Day

April 19th, 2013 by Karen 34 Comments

Dior Peacock 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette
J’adore Dior…and showboating birds, like the new Peacock 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette from the Bird of Paradise collection for summer 2013]

Hey, babe. I just finished my makeup for date night with El Hub. 🙂

We’re gonna go see Oblivion, the new sci-fi flick with Tom Cruise. Looks pretty neat from the previews. We’ll see (sci-fi-wise, this is what I’m really looking forward to).

I wonder if El Hub will notice the blending I did on my lids with the new Dior Peacock 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette. Hmm… Survey says, probably not. LOL!

I’ll save some kettle corn for ya. Before I dart, some quick pics and swatches of Dior’s new bird…

Dior Peacock 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette
Eyes: Dior Peacock 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette (lids and lower lash lines), Bobbi Brown Jet liner (water lines) and Chanel Bleu Le Volume de Chanel Mascara (upper and lower lashes)
Dior Peacock 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette
Lips: bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Liner in Energized and Lipgloss in Party Starter

Dior Peacock 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette
Cheeks: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Give Me Sun (just below my cheekbones) and the coral blush from Dior’s Diorskin Nude Tan Paradise Duo in Coral Glow

Dior Peacock 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette
Face: Guerlain Meteorites Perles Light Diffusing Primer (from the new Terra Ora summer collection), Bobbi Brown Stick Foundation in Honey, Hourglass Oxygen Powder in No. 4 and uh…I have no idea why I’m making a fist here.

Dior Peacock Palette Swatches
Hey, bird, I’m swatching you…

What ya up to tonight?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Wow, gorgeous! I really like the colors in this collection, I don’t think the eyeshadows would work for me, but I may get the nail color duos. This looks fabulous on you.

I definitely love this one more than the other. I think it’s the blue and the green that makes me love it so much! You really made a gorgeous look with it!

Wow, you look stunning. If El Hub doesn’t notice the perfect blending, I’m sure he will still notice your gorgeous eye make up. You look glowing. Have fun on your movie date.

Beautiful look. I wish I had the patience for looks that require lots of blending, but I’m usually rushing to get out the door.

Exciting evening of laundry just wrapped up. Now I’m just having fun looking through my purchases/free samples from my trip to Nordstroms today.

You look so hot with your eyes rimmed in the black! Lining my whole eyes makes me look bad. What I’m really loving is your cheeks though!

Also, yay for the BB foundation stick. I purchased it during the Chic Week sale, and it makes it so easy to put foundation just where I need it… undereyes, nose, chin.

He may not notice the eyeshadow blending skillz, but he better have noticed that his wife is a KNOCK-OUT! You look incredible, Karen! How was the movie?

Oh, and the bf and I went out to dinner last night to celebrate me quitting my job. It was time and I’m alternately terrified to be out of a job and thrilled at the possibilities that await…

This look is stunning on you! I had a question about the 2 Dior summer palettes — on the Nordies site, it looks like it might have the 2 quad names mixed up (?). The quad you’re wearing in these picks, Peacock, looks like the quad they have named Blue Lagoon on their site:

Your eyes look amazing – the palette is gorgeous but your technique is perfection. Question – what brush do you use when you are putting eyeshadow on the lower lash lines? When I try to do it,I just get a smudgy flaky mess.

Hi Karen! This look is absolutely fabulous on you. Both of the new dior palettes look amazing on you though. Do you prefer the Blue Lagoon palette or the Peacock palette? They look similar which is making it hard to choose one or the other, or maybe even get both? Even though they do look quite similar! Lol. Help me please 🙂
