For the Love of Ginger! MAC Sheertone Blush in Gingerly

MAC Sheertone Blush in Gingerly ($22)

Gingerly is one of my all-time MAC favorite blushes. I just put a refill pan in my cart because MAC currently has an online sale of 30% off everything! The refill pan is $18, but with the 30% discount it’s $12.60.

Ginger!

I am surrounded by ginger…

I’ve been drinking a lot of ginger ale this week because my tummy’s been obnoxiously gurgly, and I’ve also been, at times, simultaneously wearing MAC Gingerly Blush ($25).

Maybe this is more than a coincidence…or maybe it isn’t, and I just have a need to find deep connections between totally unrelated things (story of my life).

My fridge has an entire shelf dedicated to ginger ale. THANKS TUMMY TROUBLES.

Gingerly totally hearts bronzed skin. This warm matte peachy brown lends a lovely natural flush to tan skin (highly recommended if you’re around an NC35 and up), and for this I love it!

Lighter lasses might love it, too. Some of my paler pals describe it as a warm, rich terra cotta on their skin, but they also say that it can sometimes look orangey.

MAC Gingerly on my cheeks…

Gingerly is part of the normally subtle MAC Sheertone Blush family, but I’m not exactly sure why that is…because it looks very pigmented on my NC42 skin.

I really like how it warms my skin tone, and I also like that the finish, while matte, isn’t totally flat. Plus, it’s easy to blend.

Give it a try one of these days with an intense eye look or a vibrant lip. For me, when I wear a bold element, sometimes I look a little tired without some extra warmth on my cheeks, which Gingerly nicely adds. 🙂

Today’s trending topic: ginger

Where do you stand on the important issue of ginger?

It’s a very divisive plant, isn’t it? — like cilantro. Some people love the stuff, and some people don’t. In that way it’s also like thumb rings and French tip nails…

I don’t mind a little bit when it’s sweet, like in ginger ale or ginger snaps, but I’m usually NOT down with ginger in most culinary dishes. I guess my tastebuds are really sensitive to it, because sometimes when it’s in a dish, it’s the only thing I can taste.

My brother is the total opposite. He can literally gnaw on a piece of ginger root all afternoon, which is kind of funny considering that he used to be terrified of ginger when he was a kid.

Because when we were little, my mom would bring us with her to the grocery store, and I’d grab a piece of ginger (usually the piece that looked most like the gnarled hand of an evil wizard) and chase him around the store with it.

HAHA! Good times…

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I am absolutely against ginger (and cilantro, for that matter). It is something that was always pushed on me when I was sea sick, so whenever I taste it, I immediately feel nauseous.

I don’t mind ginger in moderation. I am one of those that can’t tolerate Cilantro at all. The smell of it makes me sick.

I am really loving more warmer blushes on my light-light medium skin tone( I don’t know where I fall on the MAC scale since I’ve never worn a MAC foundation). I am a Linen in LM, however. My latest love is the Channel Rose Bronze blush. It has just enough color for me and I feel in the colder months, I don’t need a bronzer.

So, with all the excitement of having Zack home, he unfortunately came down with Mono. He’s been resting up but today his throats is hurting, no fever though. I am hoping he will be ok to return back to school.

    Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving!

I do not mind a little ginger, i do like Ginger ale. Mac Gingerly blush on my NA25-30 skin tone turns a little orange and gets darker on the skin over time. Do love Mac Mineralize in Naturally Flawless and Warm Soul.

    Happy Thanksgiving!!

Ginger is my BFF. I found out a few years ago that I’m soy intolerant 😩 and ginger ale is the only non-pharma way to ease the effects of an accidental ingestion. I also love it in food, though. Have you tried the Cranberry Ginger Ale? YUMMMMM. Hope your tummy feels better soon!

Oh Karen, I feel you with the ginger. My husband cooked a chicken back in the early 90’s when we were still dating. For some reason, he decided to put a ton of ginger in, to make a nice Ginger Chicken. By the way, he loves to cook. Anyway, the chicken was so inundated with ginger, that it ruined it. I couldn’t finish it. It ended up being ginger with a side of chicken. LOL!! Since that day, back in 1992, I can’t eat things that have ginger in them. But, I do love ginger ale. I’ve been drinking it since I was a kid. My parents always had it around. I especially like it with turkey. So, I’m definitely having it tomorrow. Yay!! I hope your tummy feels better, and that you have a great Thanksgiving!!

Love ginger. All of it, in any form. And cilantro, too. And both in combination (many asian dishes have this combo).

And MAC gingerly is a classic. One of my desert island picks!
