Doing the Twist With the $28 Marc Jacobs Beauty Twinkle Pop Eye Stick Twist-Up Eyeshadow Pencils

August 1st, 2014 by Karen 8 Comments

Marc Jacobs Beauty Twinkle Pop Eye Sticks

If you thought Marc’s chrome crayon-like Kiss Pop Lip Color Sticks were cute, check out these Twinkle Pop versions.

They might just put a twinkle in your eye…

Get it…? A twinkle? Because the name?

OK, sorry, that was bad, but they are really shimmery. 🙂

Seriously, these $28 twist-up eyeshadow pencils are pretty cool.

No, really. There’s a cooling sensation on the skin when you use them, allegedly due to the inclusion of Swiss alpine snow in the formula.

Really now? Come on.

Anywho, the Swiss snow is also supposed to be moisturizing.

Normally, I’m totally down for products that moisturize the skin around my parched peepers, but these looked kind of patchy in my swatches, so I’m passing on them for now and choosing instead to test Marc’s coral Kiss Pop in Wham.

Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick Eye Colours seem similar, cost the same and feel smoother (at least to me). No cooling effect, though, which is fine.

Top row from the left: Honey Bunny, Volver, Three Shades and Au Revoir; bottom row: Frannie, Stardust, On the Verge, Shoshanna and Leila

I do think the Twinkle Pops win when it comes to packaging… I almost want one just because they’re cute.

If these are putting a twinkle in your eye, they’re available in nine shades now at Sephora stores and sephora.com.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Got any plans this weekend?

Happy Friday! I find the claim that Swiss Alpine Snow is any different or more moisturizing than regular, old snow a bit suspect. 🙂

Hoping to see Guardians of the Galaxy tonight! And, did I tell you I saw Lucy? I was prepared to be a little disappointed after reading your comments but, wow. You were very kind in your criticism.

I like the Frannie shade. The packaging for these looks so sleek.

This weekend, I plan to attend a local festival (Heritage Festival) with pavilions highlighting different countries and cultures. I also may be getting my hair done too. Have a great weekend!

The colors that you swatched on the top row are so pretty, but I’m not a fan of patchy eyeshadows — I’ll stick to the LM Caviar sticks! 🙂

The colors are pretty! I really like Leila. I agree, though. They do look a little patchy. Hopefully, they’re buildable.

Hahaha, Swiss alpine snow? That is…water? I’m actually insulted that Marc Jacobs thinks we’ll fall for that. Adorable packaging, though!

ROFL, I know, right? I did a bit of a double take when I read that. I was all ‘Surely they can’t think we’re *that* stupid…can they?’. I mean, really?

Also, if someone asks what you’re wearing on your eyelids, and you tell them ‘Volver’, unless you enunciate REALLY CAREFULLY, there are going to be follow up questions… 😉

Karen, I picked up two of these (Au Revoir and Stardust), along with a Kiss Pop in Pop Arazzi…curious to see how they fair!

Plans for the weekend are going to the BEACH on Sunday!!! Here’s hoping the rain holds out–since I specifically scheduled OFF from work, of COURSE the weather would be bad–GRRRR!!
