With the New NARSissist Smokey Eye Kit, You’ll Have All Eyes on You

Honestly, though, I don’t blame you for your NARSissicism. I understand, I really do. That would be like blaming Tabs for being beautiful or the sky for being blue.

No, I blame the NARSissist Smokey Eye Kit ($59), that gorgeous three-piece palette in front of you. 🙂

With a matte beige, a deep matte brown and a shimmery golden brown eyeshadow (as well as a miniature black liner and a travel-sized contouring brush) in it, really, how could you not get NARSissistic on that @ss?

In addition to the three shadows, the kit also comes with a travel-sized Wide Contour Brush #43 and a mini Larger Than Life Eyeliner in Via Veneto

The $59 NARSissist Smokey Eye Kit

  • Uh…what is it? A new limited-edition smokey eye kit with a trio of eyeshadows, a mini eyeliner and a brush.

You get matte beige Madrague, matte neutral brown Bali and shimmery golden brown Mekong, all of which work well together, but try not to over-blend them because they’re super buttery! — and things can get out-of-hand muddy fast.

You also get a miniature Larger Than Life Eyeliner in Via Vento, which I think is just OK… It’s a little difficult to blend and doesn’t really stay put on my water lines.

And then there’s a travel-sized Wide Contour Brush #43, which feels a tad scratchy to me, but it gets the job done.

  • Am I a prime candidate for it? You could be if you tend to get overwhelmed by giant Kaiju-sized eye palettes with dozens of color combinations, and you prefer palettes that are more streamlined.

This one forces you to focus on your smokey basics. Like, with the UD Naked palettes, I usually spend a ton of time trying to figure out which shades to wear, but with this palette and its three options, it’s easier to make a decision.

For this look I’m wearing, I patted the beige shade on my brow bone and in the inner corners to highlight, swept the brown matte in the crease to add depth, and packed the shimmery brown on my lids for sparkle.

But that’s just one way to wear it. There are definitely more.

Bottom line, though, there’s not a lot of flash and dash in this palette, but it is uber-flexible. Because the colors aren’t too cool or warm, it should be a good fit for most skin tones.

  • So…where can I find it? Early birds can get the jump on it July 15 at narscosmetics.com. Mid-morning birds willing to wait a little longer can get their claws on it August 1, which is when the $59 NARSissist Smokey Eye Kit arrives at NARS Boutiques and NARS counters at your favorite department stores. 🙂

I know you love that attention, so don’t pretend. You’re a NARSissist, through and through. 😉

It’s nice to see Bali getting some love. Have you worn it as a brow fill? I use the single almost daily in my brows and find it strange Bali doesn’t get more love around the blogosphere. Bam gloss is such a great complement to a smoky eye. Love the finished look!

Love NARS. So classy and classic! I was just thinking that the sparkly brown looks like a darker version of Galapagos. Galapagos is one of my fave go-to’s for a quick smokey eye look. It’s flattering and sexy!

A smoky eye suits you well, Karen! But I have to say I love the blush on you the most. I bought Malice recently due to your review on it and I LOVE it!! Thanks, Karen!

So tempting, but I already have all three shadows in duo (Madrague) and single (the other two) form, plus multiply in palette form….

This kit looks awesome! I have these shades in the NARSissist palette but I’m still tempted. NARS is such a trap.

It looks super wearable! The sad thing is that when I read your “early birds on July 15th”, I thought “wow, that’s quite some time away.. or it’s tomorrow. I can’t believe it’s mid-July”. I don’t know what month I thought we were in but thanks for bringing me back to reality!

What a gorgeous look! I really need to try and master the whole smoky eye thing…

I also know exactly what you mean about palette-indecision. When there are only three colours, you spend so much less time faffing about trying to choose what to use!
