Peek-A-Boo! NYX Holiday 2011, I See You

December 3rd, 2011 by Karen 31 Comments

nyx holiday 2011 (16)

Oh, have you seen Friends with Benefits? The one with JT and Mila Kunis? I rented it tonight through Amazon on the TV, and I’m just sitting down to watch it with El Hub. I hope it’s good. I’m in the mood for a good romcom…

It looks a lot like that movie Natalia Portman and Ashton Kutcher made earlier this year, doesn’t it? I forget the name, but I think that was almost the same exact idea.

Ouch, that one was painful… I sure hope this version’s better than that.

Before I press the “Play” button and microwave some popcorn, here are some quick pics I snapped of the NYX holiday 2011 collection this afternoon. Reviews coming soon!

Whatever you’re up to this evening, I hope you’re having a great night. 🙂

LOL! Butt Naked Eyes? Clearly, someone was having fun with that name. I like it, but it’s a little strange to see the word “butt” in italics on your palette.

I think it was called No Strings Attached! I like Justin and Mila over the other two anyway, even though I wish JT would come back to music.

can’t wait to see swatches of the lip products~

I can’t wait to hear the review on the palette! A lot of the shades seem like they could swap out for the Naked2 palette, and would help me save some cash!

Love the eye shadow palette! They look really wear-able. Hope they’re mineral make-up though.

LOL, that *is* quite the name for a palette 😛 I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the palette! (And those lip creams – the colours look gorgeous.

Update us on Friends with Benefits, ya hear? 😉 I have it sitting on my hard drive, but I don’t know if I want to take the time to give it a try.

These are the first pics I’ve seen of the palette, but I absolutely LOVE the cool-toned neutrals. It’s hard to find them in palettes. Can’t wait for the swatches!

I watched Friends with Benefits tonight, as well! Ah, I know – that movie with Natalie Portman and Kutcher was just… a mess. I really didn’t like it! I liked Friends with Benefits waaay more!

I’m really diggin’ the blush and bronzers. Is NYX trying to replicate MAC”s white holiday packaging cause that’s what they remind me of. Maybe I should check these out. I just hope they don’t end up a FAIL like the L’Oreal sculpting blushes you reviewed a while back.

I think I want to have the palette, whatever the name is! Lol! I like NYX idea of putting a 2-tier drawer palette! Very compact and handy!

And the liquid lipstick……can I have them all, pleeeeeeeeassseeeeee?

Do lip creams have the sweet smell that the NYX lipglosses have? I find the smell too strong…

Those look like more matte colors rather than shimmery and glittery like Urban Decay does! I love my Naked and Naked 2 palettes, but if there’s one thing UD could improve on, it’d definitely be more matte colors!

The bronzer and blush combo is really cute-looking, and it’s nice that it’s also a space-saver since you don’t have to bring a separate compact for each.

I haven’t watched Friends with Benefits, but it totally reminds me of No Strings Attached (which I unfortunately saw in the theater and thought it was reallllly terrible). Hope that Friends with Benefits is better or at least that you have a fun time watching it. 🙂 And…popcorn makes any movie better. That’s kind of my mantra, by the way.

Friends with Benefits is about a billion times better than No Strings Attached. I really ended up liking it! You should watch it… just make sure it’s not with your parents or anything. It’s one of those films where I’d be totally mortified to watch with my mom, dad and/or in-laws.

LOVE your mantra. 😉 I always get my popcorn mixed — half original, half kettle corn.

Just saw Friends w/ Benefits on a plane yesterday and thought it was pretty good! And yes, a lot better than No Strings Attached. The supporting cast is all Oscar nominees and they’re pretty amazing. He’s hilarious on SNL, but I don’t think JT’s a very good actor. Still, he works in this role, Mila Kunis is great (and ridiculously gorgeous) and it was a fun plane movie.

      Hi Barbara,

As much as I love JT, I have to agree with you on the acting. I think his range is pretty limited. He was okay in this movie, and it felt like he and Mila Kunis (love her eye makeup) had real chemistry.

No Strings Attached was so painful! The movie felt like one terrible ro-co cliche after another.

I personally LOVED Friends with Benefits and I definitely felt the chemistry. Not to mention I found it HILARIOUS, and the flash-mob scene was genius. But anywho, onto the actual products, I’m excited for swatches of the eyeshadows! It seems a bit boring for a holiday collection though =/. Neutrals are what everyone has been doing, and I mean I only need so many neutral palletes.

Please swatch that sucker for me. I can’t wait to see how the color payoff is. I love the cool grays and taupes it has. I also love that there seems to be more matte shades than the Naked Palette.
