I loved these matte liquid lipsticks by Physicians Formula when they first came out a couple years ago, but I gotta give ’em a quick shout-out again because I wore the magenta shade the other day and dang! — the wear time is INSANE.
I had Magentle Formula on for six hours, and no joke, it barely budged, and that was after lunch, snacks, multiple cups of caffeinated beverages (EARL GREY IN THE HOUSE, YO), and three big cups of water.
Right now they’re on sale on the Physicians Formula website for $5.52 (originally $8.49)! A few shades are sold out, but most are still there.
Hmmm, now that I think about it, they’re discounted on multiple sites ($4.29 at Ulta and $5.39 at Target), which makes me a little nervous because sometimes that means a brand is phasing a product line out. I hope that’s not the case, since this liquid lippie is one of the best I’ve tried from any drugstore line. It’s non-drying, super smooth, loaded with pigment, and fades evenly and smoothly. No funny flavor or scent, either, and because it’s Physicians Formula, it’s also hypoallergenic, fragrance free, paraben free and cruelty free.
If you run into one of these during your socially distant travels to the drugstore, grab one ASAP. They’re fantastic!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Yay! Thanks for doing the “investigating” of the PF lippies for me! 😉 Maybe these won’t transfer and with that wear time, I might be able to wear it underneath a mask. LOL
Your freckles lasted all day, too!
Karen says
You’re so welcome! I’m realizing that maybe the reason they’re discounted is that maybe people aren’t wearing lipstick as much… I still have it on when I’m around the house!
Christine says
That is some admirable makeup commitment, I love that.
Yesterday, after picking up some more color corrector (for the crappy lipstick shades) and a BRONZER, I tried on a full face of makeup for the first time in two months and I was …. overwhelmed; by the act of putting makeup on, by the way it looked, by having “stuff” on my face! I was so happy to try out my new supply of KOSE Softly Mo Deep Treatment Oil to get it all off. :-/ I may be reaching my saturation point of YouTube makeup videos and purchases and my usual urge to purge is coming up but I will resist and keep and USE everything I have now. My makeup restlessness might have been an unintended pandemic side-effect!
Karen says
Wearing a little makes me feel less BLAH, I’ve noticed. Even if it’s just clear brow gel and mascara!
Sooo it’s funny that you mentioned feeling overwhelmed by stuff on your face, because I’ve found that if I’m wearing even just the slightest touch of too much base/concealer, I wanna peel it all off. You’re not alone!

Hm, matte lipsticks make my lips too dry – plus I am now wearing a mask every. single. time. I. am. out. BTW – I looovve those pants you are wearing!
Karen says
Oh, thanks! They’re Athleta. My friend who teaches the HIIT class I go to (well, used to go to) passed them onto me. I love them! They’re super comfy and they stay up while I workout. Plus… POCKETS!

I gotta say it — “Magentle Formula” sounds like a laxative.
Karen says
Hahaha! It totally does. It not one of those names that rolls off the tongue.
Alix says
Still better than those awful Burt’s Bees lipsticks with the names that sounded like euphemisms for heavy-flow days (Fuchsia Flood, Russet River, Scarlet Soaked, etc.).
Karen says
I wonder if that ever came up during the creative meetings? Perhaps they were going for a celebration of “that time of the month.”

Argh. Would love to try one of these. But I’m really trying hard to do a no buy. Especially since Dear Husband took a pointed jab at me about my perfume buying yesterday. We were out walking and I kept stopping to take pictures of the very “Miyazaki-like” clouds. And he goes, “Well if this is your new obsession I prefer this over you buying bottles of perfume that you don’t need”. Ouch!
Karen says
I would just buy a perfume and a nail polish just to passively aggressively get back at him, ha ha ha!
Tatiana says
What makes you think I don’t? I said I was “trying” to do a “no buy”. That does not mean I am succeeding. Lol. Sigh.
I have over 100 lipsticks. Yes, I am embarrassed. I probably have close the same # of nail polish colors. Mostly indie brands. And I have well over 100 full bottles of perfume, that does not include decants and samples.
I need to stop.
Luckily, I haven’t smelled any new perfumes I find the compelling need to own. I wish I could say that about lipstick and nail polish colors.
Sissi says
Yes! Bring on those colors!!! Looking absolutely fabulous my dear Karen! My favorite liquid lipsticks are from Pixi- they can be a tad drying but they last forever. I just put a dab lip balm on top to fix that! ???
Karen says
Funny you should mention the Pixi lippies because I wore a couple the other day. Mixed them together with a lip oil!
Valentina Chirico says
Nooo, I can’t believe at that price! 🙂
It’s a dream, Karen!!!
Anne Kühn says
Oh wow, that wear time is great! And all of the shades are right like I love them.
