Product Spotlight: Stila Peony Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Cream

August 12th, 2020 by Karen 7 Comments

Stila’s creamy, dreamy blush doubles as a lip color.

Are there actually peonies on Stila’s $25 Peony Convertible Color cream blush?

Hmm… Don’t those flowers on the lid kind of look like succulents?

Inquiring minds want to know! ?

Perhaps they are succulent peonies…? (Thank you, I’ll show myself out.)

This brownish pink cream blush has a matte finish that is faboo for video calls. When I sweep it on the apples of my cheeks, which I just do, BTW, with my fingers, it instantly warms up my face with a delicate, translucent rosy brown flush. If you like a natural cheek look, both on camera and in person, I think you’ll like it as much as I do.

It feels like a non-sticky (unlike some cream blushes), practically weightless cream concealer, except it comes in a pan (think Laura Mercier Secret Concealer or MAC Studio Finish concealer), so it’s thin and creamy.

I’m an NC 42 in MAC, and Peony looks like a brownish rosy pink on my skin.

I love that it isn’t incredibly obvious on my skin either. It just adds a little color to liven things up without looking like I went through makeup heavy lifting.

Added bonus: Peony doubles as a lipstick (and, I suspect, could also work as an eyeshadow). In this pic I’m wearing it blended on my cheeks and tapped lightly on my lips.

These days, I’m always looking for effortlessly casual makeup and that je ne sais quoi French girl style, and Stila Peony has it.

If you’re interested, you can find Peony in the Stila permanent line for $25.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Looking lovely, as always! 🙂 I never had luck with cream blushes in my youth but, maybe now that my skin is becoming drier, I should try again. Before the respiratory apocalypse I was thisclose to picking up another Chanel joues contraste color. Not to replace my beloved Malice but for more of a pinkish/summery look. I feel like it’s still topping my list if the masks come off. 🙂
PS We were able to move forward with school opening plans in NY, which is great. How are things progressing with you/Connor’s preschool?

Gorgeous! What shadow are you wearing? Your lashes are amazing!
I had no idea Stila was even still in business. I guess that tells you how much I pay attention. I used to have a convertible color or two. Maybe I ought to check them out again now that I wear more cream products.

I’m wearing the Stila cream shadow/glitter shadow duo in Camera Ready. I’m wearing the matte on my lids and the glitter (pieces are small and classy!) pushed along the lashline. I swept a little bronzer the crease but you could just as easily skip that part too.

It’s such a lovely and versatile color, right? I’m so glad you like it, too!

Peony was one of the first products I owned from Stila. When they were very first launching, I won a train case full of their makeup, and Peony was in it.

How cool! I would’ve been so excited to try all of their goodies. Remember when they did the themed palettes with the different Stila girls? I loved those!
