Seychelles for Smashbox Pretty In Peep Toes: Makeup Plus Shoes Equals Heaven

April 17th, 2009 by Karen 24 Comments

“Oh, baby, do you know what that’s worth? Oh, heaven is a place on earth.” –Belinda Carlisle

Seychelles makes shoes known for their quirky, vintage style (hence, why I love them), and this spring, they’ve teamed up with Smashbox Cosmetics on a small, limited edition collection of makeup AND shoes called Seychelles for Smashbox: Pretty in Peep Toes.

Seriously, I could just die! Makeup inspired by high heels and high heels inspired by makeup?

Belinda Carlisle was right.

The small collection includes the Pretty in Peep Toes Palette ($42) and The Temptress shoe ($90), both sold exclusively at Nordstrom stores.

Pretty in Peep Toes (shown above) comes with a gray cream liner, five eyeshadows (vanilla, pink champagne, taupe, dark teal and light purple), a shimmery golden highlighting powder and a coral blush — all wrapped up in a chic, reusable wallet (I think you can remove the palette).

And then there’s The Temptress — a woven peep-toe, patent leather platform shoe. Right now on the Nordstrom site, they’re showing it available in two colors, pink and black, but I think the shoe also comes in white and tan.

Doesn’t the pink shoe totes match the palette?

Is anyone else drooling and pawing at their monitor right now? LOL!

If you’re thinking about getting both the palette and the shoes and happen to live near a Nordies, you might want to coordinate your haul to fall upon one of the Pretty in Peep Toes events happening at select stores nationwide from now until the end of May. (Click here or on the picture below for a list of dates and locations).

The events are free to attend and sound like a lot of fun to me. You get a makeover from a Smashbox national artist, and while she’s working on your look, a shoe stylist helps you try on different pairs of Seychelles shoes.

Heaven…

There’s even a special gift with purchase. If you buy both the Pretty in Peep Toes Palette and ANY pair of Seychelles shoes, Nordstrom will throw in a limited edition Seychelles for Smashbox tote bag filled with deluxe-sized Smashbox samples.

Each Pretty in Peep Toes appointment lasts about 45 minutes. To book an appointment, call your nearby Nordstrom cosmetics department, or visit one of their Smashbox counters in person.

I signed up for April 25 at the Nordstrom in San Francisco Centre. El Hub gave me a Nordie’s certificate for Valentine’s, and I’ve been waiting for something just like this to use it. 🙂 T-minus eight days and counting…

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

      Hi Stephie,

Seriously! I appreciate a good platform! It’s amazing how a half an inch of padding on the bottom can make so much difference.

Oh, gorgeous! I’m all about the pale pink/tan/beige shoes this spring — love ’em! This is very, very dangerous. “The Temptress” is absolutely the right name for that shoe…

      Hi Jeanne,

Sadly, I don’t own any pink shoes! I think it’s time to change that. 🙂

      Hi Sanayhs,

Me too! I want more of my favorite shoe lines to pair up with makeup companies. Can you imagine a Louboutin and MAC collab? LOVE!

Oh! I might go~ It’s a shame that the Rose Romance event with the MAC National Artist at the SF Shopping Centre is April 23/24… Oh well, looks like I’ll just have to go to the mall twice 😉 I’ll probably try to drag a girlfriend with me since Hubby isn’t too keen on makeup stuffs and waiting 45 minutes in addition.

Maybe I’ll see you at the Smashbox event!

      Hi Lesley,

Yeah, I hear ya. I usually park the boy on a bench and tell him to spend some quality time surfing the web on his phone, ha ha ha!

Please say hi if you happen to see me at the Smashbox event! 🙂

I love the platforms. I wish I were a few inches shorter because I would wear nothing but spike heels and platforms. It breaks my heart when I see such lovely shoes, but then I feel like an amazon when I put them on.

I really struggle with heels, too clumsy, but these look really comfy, and solid. They are gorgeous too. May have to get myself a pair!
