For me, it truly feels like summer when Chanel is in the mix. 🙂
I’ve been wearing two of their face products from the new summer collection non-stop: Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint sheer foundation in Medium Plus and Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream in Soleil Tan Medium Bronze.
I’m at a point in my makeup journey where I can’t deal with anything that feels or looks too heavy, especially in the summer. I want the sheerest coverage possible and my skin to look like real skin. Both these products achieve that very specific look!
Sheer and fresh
I wear the Water-Fresh Tint as an all over base (I use two pumps); most of the time I don’t set it with a powder, and I just leave it as is. It’s sheer and semi-matte, and I think it looks very fresh and undone.
Long-wearing, too!
Then, I swipe Les Beiges cream bronzer on my cheeks and on my lids for some color and warmth. It blends effortlessly and doesn’t look obvious. FYI, I was pleasantly surprised with how long-lasting it is. Once it sets it doesn’t move!
You can find both items in several different shades at Chanel counters and online.
About that shirt
OK, so for my birthday this year, I treated myself to a cute new t-shirt from a brand that I’m kinda obsessed with called Clare V! They have lots of cute bags too.
I hope this beautiful Thursday has been treating you kindly! Big hugs from this end of the keyboard.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

“Summertime when the livin’ is easy . . .” I love your makeup philosophy for this season of casual living. When it comes to prepping our base, who has time for primer, foundation, concealer, contour, bronzer, highlighter, blush, and last, but not least, finishing powder? Not me! Keep it simple, natural, and fresh is my summertime mantra. Last year I wore Chanel’s Touch (the much more pigmented sister to the Tint) which I absolutely adored. This year, I’ve been wearing the Clé de Peau Radiant Cushion which is also a big win in my book. They both do essentially the same thing–even out the complexion in a soft, real-skin glow. So, which do I prefer? The CdP but by only a smidgen because the color is a bit better for me. They’re both great lightweight foundations that do the job of giving me a healthy looking smooth and even complexion. It’s been more than a decade since I purchased a bronzer, but this year I was captivated by the Chanel cream bronzers. I bought the small size because I don’t usually wear bronzer and knew I’d never get through the large size before it started to deteriorate. I’m not even going to get through the small size, but at least I have it for when I want the warmth of the sun look.

Love that shirt! I think I bought a Clare V shirt from Anthropologie a couple of years ago…now you got me browsing the website!

So while I love the concept of the travel sizes of Chanel products, I unfortunately will no longer be purchasing Chanel products. I researched some history on Coco Chanel and was horrified to learn she was. Nazi sympathizer and anti-Semitic. As a Jewish woman, I cannot support the brand in the same way I don’t buy cars by Volkswagen, BMW and Mercedes Benz even though they make my fantasy car. I will be spending my money elsewhere and will replace the products I still have with other brands once they are finished.
Enjoy your summer and I love the tee. Be well!
