Here’s a little something to tickle your brain a bit this morning… Quirky jewelry designer Tarina Tarantino (remember those chunky beaded Hello Kitty necklaces celebs were rocking a few years back?) is launching a new makeup line called Tarina Tarantino Beauty later this month.
The makeup product shots I’ve found online are teeny tiny (here and here). From this image and video, it looks like the line will have a range of vibrant, sparkly lipsticks, glosses, eyeshadows, blushes and brushes (three words: HOT PINK HANDLES!) in Tarina’s signature style — a blending of skull-and-crossbones toughness, bright colors and feminine floral arrangements.
Expect to find the new line at US Sephora stores beginning January 30.

I am going to have to check it out in Sephora. I love the Hello Kitty line, but I am afraid that the translation to makeup may be too immature for someone like me (a/k/a a woman in her 30’s with a full-time job and little reason to wear bright sparkly lipstick).

oh also I am waiting in anticipation for the Alice in Wonderland palette from Urban Decay!
I’m looking forward to it too, but I’m a little turned off it because of Lewis Carroll (the author of Alice in Wonderland). He was a total pervert.
ha – thanks for the link….I will entertain myself during my lunch hour reading that. You know I vaguely felt that way too when I read the novel Alice in Wonderland. I love Edgar Allan Poe too but how perverted was he – marrying his cousin!
I liked the look of the Alice in Wonderland palette, but the colors were a little eh for me. You’d think it being a ‘Wonderland’ they’d have brighter shades. But I absolutely love Tarina Tarantino, and her jewelry, so I’m definitely going to be checking this makeup out.
I think I love those brushes.

Karen, I will be all over this collection. I love bright, fun colors. I just hope the quality is tops. I wish so hard that Betsey Johnson would do a makeup line or at least a collabo with Mac. I love her.
I’ve actually liked Tarina Tarantino’s jewelry for awhile now. I loved her Barbie line, and her most recent Wizard of oz line too. I also loved her butterfly and love/hate pieces from a few years back. So I’m actually really looking forward to her makeup collection! Her jewelry is so bright, I can’t wait to see what kind of cosmetic goodies come out of her line!
I’m interested to see what the products end up being like!
I’m also interested in the new Smashbox heartbreaker line – really cute stuff. the glosses and highlighter look great!
What is the word on the Lauren Luke line?
I am super excited to check out the Tarina Tarantino line. It looks fab. i don’t think that it will be too gaudy. If you pay attention directly to Tarina’s personal makeup it always appears tasteful!
Also I am super hyped for the Alice in Wonderland. Can’t wait!!
