Tom Ford Beauty Blush in Flush and a Quick Note to Self

July 26th, 2012 by Karen 27 Comments

Dear Self,

I see that you’ve been caught by the whirlwind of fall makeup. I mean, I totally get it. Hello, NARS fall 2012? Swoon!

But I feel like I need to tell you something. To quote Alanis, “and I’m here…to remind you…” it’s still the middle of summer.

Hey, don’t you make faces at my corny jokes, young lady!

You know you love it. 🙂

So, no matter how tempting all of that fall makeup may be (and it sure is tempting), let’s give a little time this morning to summer.

I vote we spend it with a shimmery golden coral blush…like how about Tom Ford Beauty Blush in Flush ($55, and available now at Neiman Marcus)?

It’ll be perfect with MAC Lychee Luxe Lipglass. Together, the two are like the ultimate “I’m rocking a summer tan, haaay!” combo. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

      Hi Agata,

I know. I would love for them to knock off $20…that would be awesome.

Hope you’re having a nice day today. Are you working or do you have the day off?

I am working today but only a few hours. I am looking forward to a Jimmy Buffet concert on Saturday. My husband is more of a fan than me but I am going anyways 🙂

EEEEE all coral blushes with golden sheen have to be MINE!!!

My favorite powder coral blush at the moment is Becca Damselfly. I pair it with Guerlain Nahema, and frankly speaking just for these I will pray for eternal summer!

      Hey Nina,

The price point is REDONK but I must say…this is a really, really beautiful coral. Thanks for the balsamic vinegar rec. 🙂 There’s a Williams-Sonoma at the mall so I’ll have to make a note to get it.

I’ve been craving it ever since I had this interesting concoction at a restaurant last weekend. For the bread appetizer dip, they combined olive oil with balsamic and chopped cashews! It was different, and so tasty!

Ooohhh the chopped cashews sound interesting …. we usually do some balsamic, olive oil, chili flakes and parmesan cheese – and I love soft, fluffy Italian bread w/ it! 🙂

Yep the price point is redonk – for sure! But it might be a nice reward for something — maybe when I finally organize the “middle room” – which has turned into some sort of catch all for stuff we dont use …

Yup, it seems like the release times are getting earlier and earlier. Soon we’ll be celebrating the holidays in July!

Corny jokes and Tabs are two of the (many) reasons I love this blog!

This is beyond my price point (and I own more blushes than is really necessary anyway…) but this is the perfect color. I’ve never been to a Tom Ford counter, but I want to go to one just to play.

      Hi Chelsea,

Tabs is sitting on my desk right now…he sends his regards. 😉

So, I have to agree with you that this is THE perfect coral. There’s just enough golden pearl to keep things interesting, but not too much so that I feel like I’m headed to a discothèque! When you go to the counter, make a note to visit with the nail polishes, too. They’re also very nice.

Hope you’re having a nice Thursday so far. Do you have any plans for the weekend yet?

No weekend plans yet! I haven’t even thought about that yet…

Yeah, he’s hell bent on going outside today. You know diva cats. They’re like Terminators. They won’t stop until they reach their objective.

Whatever you do this weekend I hope you have fun. It feels like the summer is flying by so fast… I’m not doing much except going to the movies and to the East Bay to see my parents’ dog, LOL! Maybe some furniture shopping if I can get my crap together.

Gorgeous color but the price makes me cringe. :/ I don’t know if I could make myself pay that much for a single blush.

Tom Ford is quite pricey! But at least with this blush, you don’t need much. 🙂

I am all about burgundy and plum for some reason and it’s the middle of summer still and I blame the fall releases! I kind of wish makeup companies wouldn’t release their collections so far in advance of the actual season. I don’t really understand the point of it- they have to know we’ll all still be buying the new stuff even if it comes out in September!
    Gorgeous combo Karen!

What a beautiful blush. That Tom Ford is so classy. 🙂

Btw, have you seen the OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse 12-pc polish display? I thought their use of the spiral “comic strip” was fantastic. I must have looked at it for 5 minutes!

I love coral blushes! It reminds me of Summer, which will be over soon, but if I got the Tom Ford blusher, then it’ll be with me forever. =) I’ve read alot of great things about Tom Ford’s blushes, so I plan on checking them out the next time I’m at Neiman Marcus.

That’s such a gorgeous blush. But the price… I’m not sure I could bring myself to spend that much for a blush even though this one is really tempting..

It’s a really pretty blush! But I agree with everyone else, the price is way too high even though I could afford it (but that $55 bucks could get me a lot more makeup than just that one blush). Around here in MD we call Neiman Marcus “Needless Mark-Ups.”

Tom Ford products are to die for, but the prices stop me from buying. If the blush was $10-$15 cheaper I’d consider buying it, but even then it would still be a splurge. For $55 I could buy a nice blush and nearly pay for a nice eyeliner too.

I purchased a Tom Ford blush in Frantic Pink when I was at Neiman’s in Las Vegas back in May, but didn’t use it because of course when I got back home in LA I regretted buying a 55 dollar blush! (Especially considering I had zero luck at the slots! lol) After a week past I thought to myself it wasn’t worth the drive to return it, so I kept it. Now after 2 months I told myself I should not keep this, I finally made the decision to return it yesterday and now you go and post this! You got me wanting it back! Damn you Karen! Of course I’m kidding about that, but seriously….
Haha, honestly I think this blush looks gorgeous with your complexion and paired with that gloss? You look beautiful Karen 🙂 Hope you and Tab are having a lovely day!
