Twinkle, Twinkle, You’re a Star! It’s Benefit Dandelion Twinkle Powder Highlighter

The new Benefit Dandelion Twinkle nude-pink powder highlighter and luminizer

Has Benefit been hanging out with Hourglass lately?? Because their new pink highlighter totally looks like it belongs in the Hourglass Ambient Powder collection. It has a domed pan, a buttery/velvety texture, and I think it looks EXACTLY like an Ambient Powder on my skin.

Twinkle, twinkle, little star…

It’s called Dandelion Twinkle, and it’s $29 and available now.

This pearl is fine!

Dandelion Twinkle has Ambient-esque fine pearl that softly glows. It’s subtle, which is kind of surprising to see from Benefit, because they like the bells and whistles, ya know? (But sometimes their products can go OTT IMO with the frost and glitter.)

I think Dandelion Twinkle is a nice surprise.

It’s fabulous for light and medium skin tones

Because Dandelion Twinkle is a light pink highlighter with cool-toned white pearl, I think it’ll sing sonnets on lighter and medium skin tones.

I bet you could also make it work on darker skin tones, too, but the thing is…your highlight might end up looking kind of stark, especially on deeper skin tones if you pile it on. If I put on a little too much or don’t blend it well, my highlights look stripy.

The final verdict

I like it. It’s a beautiful highlighter. Super soft, super subtle, and probably best for lasses with light or medium skin tone. If you’re interested, it’s at Benefit counters, boutiques and online right meow.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I like the packaging. 🙂 I actually just got my first Hoola recently as part of a kit but the cardboard packaging and small brush drive me a bit batty. I like the powder itself, though.

Hope you’re having a terrific Friday!

      Hey Kim,

Hoola is one of my old-school Benefit faves!

      How did the play-offs go?

Ah, disappointing. 🙁 They had an off game in the semi-finals and were beaten by 1 goal (by a team that would probably never be able to beat them again in 1000 years). The team that won it all? We beat them the day before, 4-0. So, it was pretty sad for the boys. They did have their last tournament of the season this past weekend and won that. Not nearly like winning the big one, though. And the team we beat in yesterday’s championship has really classy parents who were hollering from the stands to their team “that’s OK, boys! At least we didn’t choke at States”. Nice. The “chokers” are 14 year old kids. You’ll know what to expect if Connor Claire plays team sports. It’s just awful sometimes. 🙁

I feel like Benefit is trying to grow up a little lately, maybe we girls get older too and the market for real glitter isn’t as big anymore?

Nice! How would you compare to plain ol’ Dandelion? I’ve loved that powder for a good long time… and now I think I need this too! So lovely.

This looks so pretty! Because the last thing I need makeup-wise is more highlighters…
