What Had Been a Pre-BG Mini Sephora Haul

March 2nd, 2016 by Karen 24 Comments

I wrote this post shortly before Monday’s Cirque du BG got underway, but I still wanted to share it.

They (and by “they” I’m referring to folks on the interwebz) say that walking helps to encourage babies to exit le womb…so I took a nice, long walk around my local Sephora the other day.

LOL! No, seriously, I did laps around the store, going up and down the aisles, to get labor to start, and got friendly words of encouragement from the girls I know who work there.

A few things also somehow mysteriously found their way into my hot little hands. Whoops!

pre-baby-sephora-haul

I grabbed…

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Fresh Cut Split End Mender ($24): This treatment is supposed to seal and heal split ends, and I have been seeing a few split ends here and there… It’s probably because it’s been a while since I got a haircut, and since I may or not be getting another one until May, I hope this helps!

Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-In-Oil in Peach Me Love ($32): From the YSL Permanent line. A moisturizing glossy lip color suspended in a moisturizing treatment oil, and OH! — it’s so freaking good. Why did it take me so long to get on this train? I want all of teh colors right meow!

Lancôme Definicils Waterproof High Definition Mascara ($27.50): Bought this because it holds curl and stands up to tears. I like the brush, too, because it’s on the skinny side and easy for me to control.

I also grabbed this L’Occitane Sephora Perk (I think it was VIB 500 points… Or maybe it was 550. I can’t remember.) with minis of their shower oil, makeup cleansing oil, skin oil, one of my favorite hand creams and a cute makeup bag. I just packed it into my hospital bag!

Also, you know what I just realized? I just realized that the next time I go to Sephora, Baby Girl will probably be with me. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I saw the L’Occitane 500 point perk in my Sephora email the other day. I may have to cash in my points now. Yay for wittle Connor being with you during your next Sephora visit 🙂

I used 500 points last week for the L’Occitane set because I’m less picky about hair and body products. I also love how travel friendly they are and each of them come with a decent amount of product that will allow you to test them a few times before knowing whether you want to commit to the full size.

I’m not a huge fan of L’Occitane but I do want to know how the you fare with the Living Proof split end mender. I get my haircut every five weeks but I still get them because my hair is so dry from all the coloring.

And I want to cry at the thought of you making your next trip to Sephora with Connor!! So sweet. I forgot about how weird it is, in a good way, to have your baby with you once you start going to all your regular haunts again. It was weird to walk into my regular Starbucks with a baby when I had been going for years and years without one! I was myself of course but I also felt like someone I didn’t know. It was trippy. But you’ll love it.

I can really imagine you walking around Sephora to start labor, everyone encouraging you… LOL! It’s so fitting, I love it. Your babe is gonna love Sephora trips, too 🙂 I really need to try that YSL. I just got the Oil-in-Stick and I’m like “meh”, don’t really see a difference. Maybe I will with the other type! <3

Two things- you definitely don’t need all the colors of the YSL Tint-in-Oil. They all kinda look the same and my lips aren’t even pigmented! But I do love the formula, I just slather it on!!
#2- I AM SO GLAD YOU HAD A GIRL!!!! She is going to love Sephora trips and makeup when she is old enough!!

The little L’Occitane pouch is so cute! It’s also a great way to test several of their products. Sephora is actually selling a few pouches that look very similar, I didn’t know they had a 500 point perk like that!

Happy Mommy morning — here’s hoping Connor Clare let you get some sleep, and that Tabs is not too confused by the new hire!

I’ve got to try that split end mender, I love me some Living Proof products. I don’t have a ton of split ends, but the ones I do have contribute to my hair being so tangle-prone! Those tint-in-oils sound intriguing, too 🙂

Just wait until she walks as well and you´ll be surprised what finds a way into her hot little hands then! My daughter has an expensive taste whenever we enter Sephora or a similar store.

Your next Sephora trip will most certainly be with Connor! 🙂 I think we’ve talked about the YSL lippie but I haven’t tried it yet. I should, since these poor lips feel like the Sahara lately. If the Dinoplatz mascara is ever back in stock, maybe I’ll pick those up together.

Just helping my sister when she had her baby was exhausting so I can’t imagine how you found any time or energy to post this even if you did most of the work before Connor was here. Well done Karen! Hope you are BG are doing well. Has Tabs met her yet?

I have the same exact YSL lip oil and used it just yesterday! I love that it leaves a pretty stain behind when the shine wears off.
Can’t wait to see you and Connor together! 🙂

Encouraging labor and a little shopping? It sounds like you’ve already got a decent handle on that oft discussed Mommy Multi-tasking skill. 😉

I’m hoping they let you stay in the hospital for at least a day to rest, so I’m wondering if you’re posting from home already. Nice haul you got there. I tried one of the tinted lip oils from Milani, and it actually dried out my lips. I’m assuming that YSL did a better job in that department. Hope BG is a good sleeper, and you can get on some kind of schedule. Also hope your mom, MIL or El Hub or all of ’em are around to help!
