For “That Glow,” Try Topshop Glow Dust in Radiate

Why does all the good stuff disappear?

Twinkies (although I think they’re back).

Josh Hartnett.

Almost Human.

Lauryn Hill.

And now this? I can’t seem to find MAC Golden Bronze Iridescent Powder/Loose anywhere, and it’s scaring me because I think it’s one of those MAC products that deserves a cult following.

I hope it hasn’t been discontinued…

I first heard about it from a MAC Pro Artist friend of mine, the fabulous Keri B, who said she loved using it for bridal makeup. She even called it an unsung makeup hero.

So I bought a jar that afternoon, LOL!

I guess I’m easy that way…

Anyway, like I was saying, I’m afraid that Golden Bronze has been discontinued. 🙁

As a sliver lining, I think I may have found a respectable dupe by Topshop called Glow Dust in Radiate ($18). Similarly fine golden shimmer and warm peachy bronze.

When I wear it in pics, I get an unusually high number of “that glow” comments, which I squirrel away in my makeup memory banks. (For “that glow,” use Glow Dust in Radiate, Karen.)

I just dust some on the tops of my cheekbones with a tapered eyeshadow brush.

A little goes a long way.

You can find Glow Dust in Radiate now at Topshop stores and online.

STORM UPDATE (NOVATO, CA)

Our little oak tree-covered hill here has seen inches and inches of rain over the past 24 hours, but Casa de Tabs in Novato is hangin’ tough! We still have power (for now) and haven’t slid down the hill (knock on wood).

Tabs has been on fuego all day long, though, meowing and mewling and basically harassing me to take him outside, as if he wouldn’t just want to run back inside as soon as he got his paws wet.

The rain always fires him up… Maybe it takes him back to his days as a footloose and fancy-free stray cat on the mean streets of Mill Valley.

Wherever you are this evening, I hope you’re warm and safe.

Keeping you guys in our thoughts & prayers as the storm continues to rage on. As for Lauren Hill, that’s the only thing I “heard” you say in this post.

I’m telling you, we are sisters from another mister in my head! Same taste in makeup? Check. Same taste (if not similar taste) in music? Check. Enjoys dancing? Check.

Now if I could just learn how to become a runner. On second thought, I’m good. I’ll leave that to you & the pros. I’ll cheer from the virtual sideline

Ugh, it sucks when awesome beauty products get discontinued 🙁 Why do they do that? To toughen us up? It makes no sense to stop making a totally fab product, ya know? This Topshop glow dust looks lovely though.

That is very glowy! 🙂 That’s good news on the storm – I’m glad you guys are still sitting atop the hill (with electricity to boot). Good luck! Oh, and Happy Friday!

Karen & Tabs, please keep safe and sound, hopefully a break on the bad weather in California soon. My four year old Mischief is constantly meowing to take her outside too! the problem here in Manitoba: very low temperatures, and snow.

Stay safe. Tell Tabs this too shall pass.
We just finished a three-day rain-a-thon in Maine and Senor Paco Rabanne was quite fussy about it.

      Hi Jennifer,

Please tell Senor Paco Rabanne has a comrade in fussiness. Tabs is walking around the house grumbling and complaining about the injustice of being kept indoors in this weather!

Maybe he’s planning to gravy-nap the entire neighborhood with all the other kitties scared and hiding. That is a nice product but it would like mud on my pale face!

    Hey Karen,
You have that nasty weather too? The last to nights scared the living daylights out of me. Okay, I was awake until 5am cleaning (yeah I know …WEIRD) but that wind was so strong and that down pour made me think that someone was in the house or was trying to enter through the balcony. Luckily today it is nice and sunny but I woke up at 12pm and I still have tons to do before mum and dad get back. Plus it is back to work for me.

Give Tabs a big a hug and sing him “Rain drops on roses” from The Sound of Music.

Hugs from the Great Up North!

      Hi May,

How did you know that Tabs and I love The Sound of Music? We watch it together every year during the holidays.

When do you and your mom and dad get back? How long have they been away? My parents, now that they are retired, are international travelers, LOL! They are always going some place cool. They just got back a few weeks ago from China and the Philippines.

        Hi Karen,
heheh.. I love The Sound of Music! The song is perfect for a storm. You and El Hub could do “I am sixteen”. 😉

Mum is back tomorrow and dad is back on Sunday. They have been away for a month. Mum has retired but dad does not want to. It is nice that your parents enjoy travelling. OMG PHILIPPINES!! Did bring back alot of goodies for you? I love polvorón. What is their next destination?

    Karen,
We are sending our love and concern from New Jersey. I work for a portfolio of Napa and Sonoma wineries selling them on the East Coast so I am very aware of your weather situation. Keep that Tabs inside! We had some snow this week and my sweet little white and gray kitty, Rose, wanted to see what this weather was all about. The minute her delicate paws touched the cold snow, she high tailed it back inside our warm home! 🙂
    Love you guys,
    Anne Marie and Rose

This is definitely not a shade for me but it works really well on you-I’m curious to see if they have other shades that would suit a more fair skin tone because it sounds like a lovely, high quality product!
