Choose Your Own Adventure: The MAC Retro Matte Lipsticks in Action

Action!

That is, here are pics of the new MAC Retro Matte Lipsticks in action.

These seem to look their best on super smooth lips without any flakes. In my case, that probably means exfoliating and using a heavy-duty lip moisturizer the night before to prep my pout.

Keep a lookout for these eight Retro Mattes this week at MAC counters, stores and online at maccosmetics.com.

photoshop-world-2013-vegasIn other news, I’m here in Las Vegas! Got in around noon, had a quick lunch at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, which is where the conference is (Photoshop World), and now I’m just getting gussied up for dinner.

Some of the world’s greatest photographers are here to teach classes on Photoshop, photography and lighting at the conference this week, and I’m going to document and share as much of it as I can. If you have any interest in photography as a hobby, or for blogging or your job, be sure to check in. I’ll do my best to get some really good tips.

Now…action! 🙂

Yep, flat out fabulous is still my favorite. I’m still on the fence about buying it instead of an OCC lip tar of a similar color. Thanks for the swatch

      Hi Judith,

You’re welcome. The Lip Tars are cool too… maybe get both if you want different finishes?

GURL, I don’t know about that. There are some milky pale shades that I look a hot mess in. 😉

Do you think ai could pull off Flat Out Fabulous with my ginger hair? I’m really loving the shade but not sure it wont clash with my mane…

You could totally do it. And if you find it clash-y, you could always tweak the color by layering it with lip liner.

If it’s one thing that I love about the 50s and 60s is a bold lip color!

My friend is at that convention! I think I’m going to pick up Runway Hit. Every time I try to wear a bright color I think it makes my teeth look yellow. Does anyone else have that problem?

They are all beautiful! I have UD cat fight and it reminds me a lot of Flat out Fabulous but I haven’t swatched to see how close they are.

I really LOVE Dangerous, I’m all about a hot orange red lip. whew!

Hi Karen, can you please recommend any dupe for MAC Steady Going in a higher up brand like Chanel, YSL, Tom Ford or any other higher up brand? Thanks. Nelly
