Planting the Seeds of Makeup Inspiration

February 20th, 2014 by Karen 10 Comments

Why, yes! I am that lady who kneels down on the sidewalk at the mall and takes a billion pictures of floral arrangements and planters. 🙂

But, I assure you, there is a method to my madness.

I get some great makeup color combo ideas from the flowers in those planters.

Seriously! Like this one here that I saw at the mall this week…

Look at that purple, green, pink, yellow and brown. Wouldn’t that combination make a great makeup look?

I’m thinking about that lighter purplish pink on the lids, the darker purple in the outer corners, the golden yellow to highlight the inner corners and a deep, dark chocolate brown liner along my lash and water lines.

And maybe also a green along my lower lash line, too. Then a pop of hot pink on my lips…

OK, now I’m itching to give this a try!

Do you ever snap pics of flower planters on your phone when you’re out and about? They’re really great sources of makeup inspiration.

I love pansies, always so perky. The color on that Geranium is just begging to be turned into a lip gloss!

I love the texture of petals – its’ how I’d like my skin to be, or at least to look once I’ve got my makeup on. Not matte, not dewy, just a perfect translucent, velvety petal… 😀

I love the colour combinations you can make with flowers – I’m still obsessed with the combo that wnt into my wedding bouquet – agapanthus blue/purple, watermelon coral pink and clean cream with green leaves… *sigh*

Wow! Flowers now? All I can see at my area malls are mountians of snow-dirty and yucky, puddles, ice and more snow.
Those flowers really are beautiful and all the colors are on trend, radiant orchid rules.
Thanks for the glimpse of Spring!

Most of the time I snap pictures of patterns and textiles for color inspiration and come back to them when I’m feeling in a rut. So helpful!

I can’t wait to see grass and flowers and plants again. Piles of snow here, and a driveway that’s pretty much ice because everywhere is out of salt.

I have a yard in our new place, I was considering some gardening, but I’ve always had a black thumb. I’d love to plant some treats for Quincy though!
