Pacifica Natural Deodorant Wipes: Wiping Out Odor One Swipe at a Time

With Wednesday being Earth Day, the big thing out here in California is water.

(Bottom line, we don’t have enough of it.)

I’ve been trying to use less, and I read somewhere that you can save 5-10 gallons — which is a lot! — by turning off the shower while you’re in there shampooing your hair, shaving and doing your thing.

I got to thinking about my shower habits…

Most days, I hop in the shower to quickly rinse off after my morning run, and then I take a real-deal shower at night (which is when I wash the pollen out of my hair, shave, and do stuff like that) before bed.

But to save a little water, for whatever it’s worth, I’ve started skipping my morning shower and just using these wipes by Pacifica instead.

When I’m done with my run, I wipe down with these Pacifica Underarm Deodorant Wipes ($9 for a pack of 30).

They’re pretty cool. Not quite a “shower in a pack” cool, but still…

First and foremost, they’re billed as an underarm deodorant (but not an antiperspirant, so if you’re looking for something to actually stop you from sweating, these won’t do that). The biodegradable wipes are moistened with a blend of essential oils and coconut milk to keep you from getting stinky.

Ingredients
water, alcohol, zeolites, saccharomyces ferment filtrate, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) extract, crambe abyssinica seed oil, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, cocos nucifera (coconut) milk, hydrogenated castor oil, limonene, glycerin, salvia officinalis (sage) leaf extract, parfum (all natural with essential oils

They aren’t aluminum-based like most over-the-counter antiperspirants, and aren’t made with any animal products (or tested on animals), mineral oils, parabens, pthalates, petroleums or SLS. All you do is swipe one under yo’ pits as needed, or whenever you feel like it, throughout the day.

The wipes leave behind a subtle coconut scent (which I think smells great!).

These are also good for when you can’t (or don’t want to) take a shower. Or when you’re trying to save a little water.

They remove my post-workout funk without leaving a sticky film or residue behind, and they dry fast.

Note: also probably excellent for post-workout girlfriend dates. Next time I meet a friend at spinning class and go to brunch afterward, these are coming with me.

Now for my face, the wipes I’ve been using are technically considered makeup removers. They’re the new Pacifica Essential Makeup Removing Wipes ($7 for a pack of 30).

Ingredients
aqua, aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf extract, coconut (cocos nucifera) milk, decyl glucoside (plant source), allantoin (plant source), simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, citric acid, coconut (cocos nucifera) water, phenoxyethanol, calendula officinalis (calendula) extract chamamilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, parfum (all natural).

Like Pacifica’s Deodorant Wipes, these towelettes are also biodegradable and made without animal ingredients, mineral oils, parabens, phthalates, petroleum and SLS (also again, no animal testing). They’re infused with coconut milk, jojoba, calendula and jasmine, and they remove any dirt and excess oil on my face while simultaneously doing an OK job of removing my makeup.

I like using them after running to remove the sweat and other gunk. They do OK as makeup remover wipes, but to be honest, they’re not my favorites for that. I feel like I have to rub a little more than I’d like with these to thoroughly remove my eye makeup and foundation.

But as primarily skin- and eco-friendly wipes to remove sweat and oil (and most makeup), they’re great.

Those deodorant wipes look amazing! The packaging also really appeals to me (and I love coconuts). I think they would also be great for P.E. class (or maybe even swim practice maybe?).
    Happy Monday! 😀

I think I’m also going to have to check these out. They look like my style. I hope the coconut smell isn’t too strong.

They sound like the perfect travel companions in this bottleless age!

I tried bringing a bit of a cream deodorant in a sample jar on my latest trip and it was a failure! I need to look for something like these

This is a great idea!! I absolutely love coconut scents, and I used to carry large body wipes in my gym bag for when I didn’t have time to shower. They are immesely helpful.

I’m getting these, underarm wipes are something I very much need in my wheelhouse given that I wear only super natural deodorants and do a fairly physical job. Would be nice to freshen up. Thanks for the idea! And I love Pacifica. I used to live in Portland, OR and remember when they first got their start and were just a tiny local candle company.
