Saffron James ‘Ume Fragrance: The Scent of Hawaii

July 19th, 2010 by Karen 6 Comments

Indie perfume line Saffron James wraps their scents in the most exquisite packaging! I wore their ‘Ume Fragrance ($85) over the weekend. With notes of white ginger and gardenia, the scent totally reminds me of Hawaii.

This sounds great. Do you have any recommendations for perfumes/body lotions/etc that are from hawaii or hawaii inspired? I regret not picking up maui tea rose and plumeria scented products while in Oahu, and nothing plumeria like smells authentic stateside.

The packaging is gorgeous and beats any major brand high end perfumes because usually the just put the perfume in a cardboard box.

I asked for a sample today at the Nordstrom in Santa Monica promenade because when I sprayed Ume on my wrist and smelled it, I was knocked off my feet! What attracted me in this perfume is it’s unique and crafty blend of Ginger with gardenia and oakmoss and overall natural-ness of the smell. I was looking for something with character yet subtle, unique and Long Lasting (!) and I think I found it! I even tend to think Smelling UME is great for you overall well being!
