Have You Tried These PUR Cameo Contour Dual-Ended Contour Sticks?

I’m not cuckoo for contouring. On myself. I feel like it looks a little harsh on me, and whenever I do it, my cheeks and my nose end up looking sharper and more chiseled than I’d like, which makes me look more, I dunno…villainous?

Call me crazy, but I’d rather have chubby cherub cheeks any day of the week.

Still, every once in a while (it’s a rare occasion), I will “go there” and do some contouring, and when I do, I like creams more than powders, just because I think it’s a softer, less obvious look, which is the effect I get with these $39.50 Cameo Contour Dual-Ended Contour Sticks by PUR Cosmetics.

Each stick comes with two shades — a lighter one for highlighting and a darker one for contouring — along with a blending sponge, which is basically a BeautyBlender.

Most of the time I’d use them on top of foundation and concealer, so I’d do my base makeup first, and then, while it was still wet (to make things easier to blend), I’d go in with one of the sticks. The oil-free formula dries to a powder finish and has a slight, pore-friendly sheen.

They don’t look heavy at all on my skin, which is another thing they have going for ’em. There are five shades available in Light, Medium, Tan, Dark and Deep (I wear Tan), and you can find them now online and at Ulta and Kohls.

In other news, what have you been watching on TV lately? Anything good? I’ve been all about…

  • Jane the Virgin
  • The Walking Dead
  • Jessica Jones
  • The Last Man on Earth
  • Scream Queens
  • Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

But I’m always looking for something new to marathon/watch. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I’m also not much into contour, I think it looks unnatural most of the time. I also have an issue with most contouring products being very warm, when a natural shadow would have greyish neutral undertones.

I feel ya. I’m more of a bronzing girl myself.

When are you guys leaving for the Bay? Bring your rain boots; it’s supposed to rain over the next few days and be on the chilly side.

Rain boots? What rain boots? I’m a real San Diego girl now, I don’t even own a rain jacket apart from my hiking one, lol! I used to have the cutest purple rain boots with an adorable white flower print, but I didn’t take them when I moved here. I need the space for more sandals!

Lately I’ve been watching The Librarians on TNT, which is a super awesome show that’s all about magic coming back to the world. The characters are all super amazing and lovable. 🙂
Also, just to look at the noms, the Holiday Baking Championship on Food Network is REALLY good. It makes me want to eat the entire world….

To slightly define my cheeks I like a little light weight contour. Then I add blush and highlighter. I don’t wear foundation. I would probably like the contour on these but I like a shimmer highlight. I’m enjoying TWD, Scream Queens , Homeland and I really love Fargo!!

Denise! Did you watch last Sunday’s episode of TWD yet?

Denise and I are on the same page with our TV viewing. I’ve also been watching the Leftovers. I watched my first Jessica Jones last night (looking forward to a little more David Tennant). 🙂 Oh, and Into the Badlands. I was surprised by the number of detractors – I really like it so far. As far as TWD, I should know by now that I am ALWAYS wrong about that show. In this case, I was very happily wrong.

I’m still working on making bronzer look natural so I’m nowhere near ready for contouring. And I laughed at your villainous comment. I can’t imagine you ever looking villainous. HAHA!

Lol, I feel the same way about dark or vampy lipstick on me; makes me look villany. I’ve been watching the Walking Dead: I kept asking my self WHY they didn’t notice the tower crumbling! Sad the mid-season finale is here but at least it’s not as long of a wait as Game of Thrones (scoff!). I watched Scream Queens while I was in London and really tried to like it but I just *could not* with that show. I’ve been trying to get into The Badlands but I missed the first episode! 🙁

I’m about two seconds away from ditching Scream Queens, LOL! It’s pretty dumb. What do you think about Glenn? Do you find what happened believable?

I mean… I was really emotional because they kept mentioning him and I was like stop putting me through this; if he got eaten then let him RIP! So I kind of figured he was still alive but my thought was that the zombies should have totally got him. Glad they didn’t though! Inid is on my nerves; she can get eaten and I’d be ok with that 🙂

I’m about to start watching Jessica Jones over the T-day break. I like the Royals on E for the fashion and makeup aspect of the show. I’m also keeping up with Homeland, Downton Abbey, and a handful of other shows when the mood strikes.

My best finds in the past few months were:

    1. Black Sails, an amazing show based on both fact and literary fiction about pirating and the colonization of the Caribbean but a bit graphic in a NSFW way.
    2. Marco Polo, not quite as graphic but it has it’s moments of cringe.
    3. The Game, a British spy drama set in the early 70’s
    4. Outlander, a fantasy/thriller/drama/romance set in Scotland over different time periods. Obviously NSFW.
    5. Daredevil on Netflix… need I say more?

All these shows are exceptionally acted, dressed, scored, shot, and directed. Very enveloping shows that get you to care about the stories quickly.

Oh and if you can stomach Thriller/Horror type stuff right now Penny Dreadful is also an exceptional show. It’s one of my husbands favorites and he HATES horror of any sort. It’s also got a lot occult stuff just incase that might bother you. It’s F’d up but it’s so good you can’t stop watching it!

Hey Karen, I’ve been stalking your blog for a bit and it’s marvelous. Finally decided to stop lurking and comment already. Liking the idea of of a dual ended cream contour stick. I’ve been really interested in trying to chisel my facial roundness, and I think I may give this a go!!! I’m so glued to TWD, as always. I was waiting to see what happened to Glen, and they made my theory a reality. Negan being casted does not bode well for our boy though. Not really staying on top of any other shows than that, Scandal and HTGAWM.

I don’t contour either but I am a fan of their shade range & agree that cream is a great route. On the TV front, I’m all about the NBA during basketball season, but when I’m not yelling at my TV over a bad call made by a referree, I’m pretty die-hard, I enjoy Black•ish (never miss an episode), Project Runway (when it’s on), Everybody Hates Chris (Hillarious!), Golden Girls, that’s all that comes to mind at the moment. Was gonna go down south for turkey day but decided to stay here instead. A couple of my friends invited me over so I’m looking forward to an empty house, good friends, & enjoying a drama-free holiday. 🙂

Def not into contour on myself unless there’s a stage or something. I think contouring in general tends to look bad in real life, even when done well. pPus I’m freckly, which makes it a little more complicated. These look nice though!

We’ve been into Girl Meets World (Disney, I know), The Mindy Project, and The Goldbergs on TV.

Meh, those contour sticks seem too red/orange, wish they were a little more taupey. Side note, just finished marathon watching Mr. Robot,so intense but so good.

Not into contouring either. Never mastered it and never found the right contour shade for my super pale skin. Even when I was super slim (ages ago) I still looked round. Nothing angular about me, so contouring looks so strangely false on me.

We are so into Jessica Jones in this household. We’re also watching Fargo. We think the second season is even better than the first. I can’t wait until January when “The Americans” returns. I really liked the first few seasons. I like The Blacklist too, for the eye candy. I’ve been half watching Quantico, but I’m not sure I’ll make it to the end of the season before I delete it from the DVR. I’m sort of getting into Blindspot.

Those contouring shades are suh-hooooo scary, dude!!! 🙂 I’d love to give ’em a try though, just to see if I can make ’em work and to see what I can do with them. I might be surprised, right?

I don’t like contour on myself either. But, once in a while I do my cheeks. I feel it kinda makes me look scary, like you said. I prefer it in creams too and have been looking for a stick type of thing. I looked at the Dr.Jart Kit..Way to light for me! I don’t know if I would like the powder finish dry down though. I have normal to dry skin. What do you think? Happy Thanksgiving Karen!

I’ve been working on my “quick” contouring. These look interesting–I’ll have to try.

Okay, Jane the Virgin, anyone? Karen, are you Team Rafael or Michael? I want her to be with her baby daddy. So many twists and turns. They can get rid of R’s dumb sister and Michael and I’d be totally okay with it. This show completely surprised me when I started watching Season 1. I also love Black-ish, Gray’s, Archer, NCIS, Hawaii Five-O (loooove McGarrett).
