Seeing as Tabs was a stray when we met, I don’t know his exact birth date (a vet pegged his age then at about one year), so I decided a long time ago that we should totally share birthdays! My baby-cat turns 8 (!) on June 9 this year, and we’re both going to co-celebrate.
I know, total crazy cat lady move, but whatevs.
After my swatch visit to Sephora today I walked into the Petco next door to look for a present.
As Tabs is a mature adult kitty now, I might have to get him some of this CatSure, which is a liquid nutritional supplement kind of like Ensure, but for adult and senior cats.

If I can’t decide, I could always get him grooming products but, you know, since he’s always so naturally fabulous, he might just pooh-pooh the idea.

I always want to give my cat a birthday but my boyfriend won’t let me. Although, I do always buy her a birthday present every year. Usually it’s a new toy. I always wanted to have a birthday party for her with little party hats.

He’s not a senior yet! Gosh cats can live a long time, my friends cat passed at 20.

Yes!! When my husbands first cat turned 1 we threw him a birthday party. We had my mother in law over and I made food he (the cat) could eat. I even make white cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting so he could lick some frosting! I even got a big “1” candle and took pictures. We are crazy cat people.
When we met my husband didn’t like cats. I had a cat, so I told him to get used to it. He ended up being more of a cat person than me, he’s the reason we have multiple cats. Anyway, when we moved in together he decided he wanted his own cat.
NICE! It’s funny, El Hub and I always assumed that we’d end up with dogs. Then Tabs hired us to assist him, LOL! Tabs really is the most dog-like cat. He follows me around and even plays fetch.
Just had a birthday party for my tabby Luci who turned 6 on the 25th. She’s a rescue that I adopted as a kitten so I just guessed on the date. Each year she gets a present or two and a nice helping of Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers (instead of cake). It’s just my husband and me, but I love spoiling her!! We even sing and we have cupcakes. Heck if you don’t have kids why not!!

I give my pets my birthday too!! I have five pets (3 dogs, 2 cats) and I know the actual or approximate birthday for 3 of them. One dog and one cat share my birthday. Nothing wrong with that 🙂
You are so lucky, Elizabeth! I would love to have a bigger fur family, but as you know…Tabs is solo artist, LOL. He and Beyonce have that in common.

Yes! We throw a B-day party every year for our rescue brother and sister cats, Star and Red (a near clone to Tabs). They were born of the 4th of July. Shhhhh! Don’t tell them all the fireworks are not for their birthday. Happy B-Day to you and Tabs!
Every year we throw Pullman (a dog) his Bday party! This year his son Junior turned 1! So we had a “puplet Bday party”! Official invitations were mailed, the siblings and their families came plus human and canine friends! Of course there was a peanut butter and bacon cake for the dogs, plus cake and food for the humans. Each guest went home with goodie bags and gifts! We also take Pullman for his yearly cruise which supports SF SPCA, Dog days on the bay (6/22/14 this year) via the Hornblower San Francisco Belle! With 9 dogs and 10 cats, plus 6 birds it’s a full house! Unfortunately they don’t have a cat cruise!
I share birthdays with my youngest kitty – Logan! We worked out he was born in March and I’ve got a March birthday, so we share. He gets all the wrapping paper he can enjoy and special tuna or wet food dinner. We actually know how old the girl cat is and the day she was born on since we’d adopted her mummy before finding out she was pregnant. Her birthday is in June. The oldest is fourteen, but I don’t know when his birthday is. I think we’ll just say December since that was when we adopted him.
Have you ever tried catnip bubbles? Jiji wasn’t super into them (he doesn’t like ‘nip that much in general), but mom’s cat Houghton (Hoho) loved them!
