A few basil leaves from my garden.

I firmly believe that there’s no such thing as too much basil. 🙂

I love basil too. Are you going to make some pesto with it?

We have so much growing in our backyard and my grandmother has huge stashes of it in the freezer to last us throughout the winter as we’re Italian and use lots of it in our cooking, especially our sauce! Me and my boyfriend were actually out for a drink the other night and the bartender offered to let me try their new cocktail….raspberry and basil leaves! I was enjoying my peach bellini too much so i passed. Ewww basil in a drink?!

made homemade pesto once with Basil from my herb garden, made our mouths all tingly and antiseptic. That might have been the only time I used too much, lol.

Any basil growing tips? I tried basil this year and it didn’t grow much.

oh, yum!! I haven’t grown any myself this year, but I love the “growing” stuff you can get at the supermarket. Totally worth the two or three bucks. It’s so satisfying to throw, like, 3-4 huge sprigs of basil into a pizza sauce. 🙂

Love basil. I wish I could have some of those fresh leaves for my cooking earlier… 😉
