I’m Over the Moon About the Roomy Europa Shoulder Bag by Kipling

December 17th, 2014 by Karen 20 Comments

The Kipling Europa Shoulder Bag ($89)

Like my husky tabby, my beloved Kipling Europa Shoulder Bag is large and in charge.

With multiple pockets and a roomy interior, it comes in very handy if you, like me, often find yourself compelled to carry around everything and the kitchen sink.

Sometimes that includes five nude lipsticks and glosses that are all more or less the same shade…

Right now the bag holds two wallets, a large makeup bag, an umbrella, a knit yarn hat, my phone, keys and a pouch of cat treats. And it still has room to spare!

I could probably free up even more space in it if I emptied some of the pockets, but it has so many that sometimes I forget what’s in where.

Like, I opened one of the pockets this afternoon and found a secret stash of vitamins and hair pins…

The bag is made of lightweight, water-resistant nylon, so it’s very easy to clean.

Once upon a time, it also had a cute little stuffed animal monkey charm dangling from it, but somewhere along the way the monkey disappeared… I vaguely recall giving it to a charming child.

By the way, sometimes I even use this bag to hold my DSLR camera. I’ll just install an ONA camera bag insert in the main compartment.

I got the bag at Macy’s back in 2010, and it’s still as good as new (sans the missing monkey charm). I see that it’s still available online in three shades — black, silver and gray — for $89 each.

Highly recommended!

The Europa Shoulder Bag by Kipling ($89)

  • Interior features zip pocket, key clasp, organizer panel with cell phone pocket, open slip pocket and pen sleeves
  • 12-1/4″ wide, 8-3/4″ tall and 6-1/4″ deep

You’re gonna laugh. I have the matching fanny pack somewhere in one of the boxes that we have yet to unpack since we moved to our new place six months ago.

I love Kipling bags. I think I need this one! Currently my purse has 6 lipsticks, 3 lip pencils, and 5 glosses!

    Hi Karen,

I love how sturdy and utilitarian Kipling bags are! (And of course the cute monkey charms add a nice touch of whimsy). I’m tempted to dig one out of my stash now… 🙂

This bag definitely looks like something I’d like! How long is the strap? Also, you’re the first person I’ve heard of who also carries two wallets. 🙂

Kippling bags are great when you are busy, on the go, and don’t care to care for leather 🙂

Sounds like a great bag. I am one to always carry enough to survive the first days of Zombie apocalypse, at least makeup wise, and that hasn’t improved since I added diapers and wipes as well as baby food to my list.

Kipling bags used to be the shit when I was in secondary school, all the cool kids had one. I like your bag, it looks very practical.

I knew I spied a kipling bag with Leo the dog 🙂 they’re all I use including the purses… I even converted my mum and sister in law to them too !!! You should try the Uki organiser purse with wristlet… It’s so useful especially for travelling 🙂 x

Looks like a very versatile bag and would be great for travel! Also, I love seeing Tabs in all his glory. His fur pattern is very cool. And his extra fur hanging over the side of the window ledge is just the cutest. 🙂

I love that it doubles as your camera bag sometimes! That’s the mark of a good bag-multiple uses!

I do not have the pleasure of owning a kipling bag but maybe in my future. I really had to laugh – YOU my dear Karen are my sister from another mother LMAO – your bag could be my bag right down to all the same shade of lipstick (mines usually red) and the baggie of vitamins and a few bobbies.
I feel validated. THank you. 😀

It’s pretty roomy! Lol I also carry around like 5 lipsticks of the same color in my bag. No wonder my bag is always heavy!

Thanks for the recommendation! I am constantly on the search for the “right” bag. I carry a lot of stuff and I’m trying to organize my purse, especially for the mornings.

This looks like the perfect “tote everything” bag. So handy to have the extra pockets. Don’t you love it when you find a few dollars in a pocket of something you haven’t used/worn in a season or so? Such a nice surprise! Vitamins and hair pins are nice too, of course. 🙂

Yes! Sometimes I find makeup (mostly lip products like glosses), which is always a nice surprise.

I’m so excited for your vacation. Will you and the fam be hanging at home, or will you be traveling anywhere this year?

      Happy holidays!
