Newest Trader Joe’s Obsession

August 14th, 2011 by Karen 17 Comments

I picked up these Roasted Plantain Chips on a whim at TJ’s, and all I have to say is holy frickin’ crap! So damn good. They’re salty, not sweet, and taste kinda like potato chips. NOM!

There’s something very Planet of the Apes about the monkeys on the bag; I wouldn’t be surprised if they were plotting revolution.

I managed to snag the last bag! Hopefully you’ll be able to get your hands on some soon, because they’re grubbin’!

The bag is so cute! The monkeys are adorable. But like you said, I wouldn’t be surprised if the were planning to revolt.

Yes. The one at the bottom of the bag looks especially shifty!

Those are called platanutres here, and they’re usually flavored with garlic salt…they’re super addictive!

Oh girl, on the sweet side have you had their frozen chocolate dipped bananas? ::drool:: They were my one and only pregnancy craving.

I haven’t. I’ve been stuck on their Mango Cream bars for so long that I barely look at anything else in the frozen dessert section. I take it it’s good?

Something like banana chips, right? I might have to look for these. I did grab those Mango & Cream bars as well and was transported to summers with mango ice candy from Aling Esme who also sold mangoes by the kaeng. They need to put sticks on those things though.

Ha! El Hub has the same issue. I don’t mind so much that they’re not on sticks…
