A Quick Look at the New Urban Decay Naked3 Palette: A Makeup Menage a Trois

November 18th, 2013 by Karen 24 Comments

Urban Decay Naked3

Girrrrrrl, there’s so much nudity up in here right now, we must be breaking some decency laws.

Here’s a quick look at the new Urban Decay Naked3 palette to whet your salacious appetite. Please note the “Do not disturb” sign on the door, as I am current indisposed, otherwise known as getting better acquainted with the new palette. 🙂

Looks, swatches and impressions coming up soon…

“We’ve spent a LOT of time getting Naked the past few years. We’ve done bronzy and taupey neutrals, but we realized there was a whole spectrum of gorgeous, flushed pinks we hadn’t explored yet. Rose- based hues look great on every skin tone. With 12 new shades, it’s hard to choose favorites, but we predict that Buzz (the pinkest of all the shades) will be a fan favorite. We’re also partial to Nooner (a stunning pinky-brown matte) and Dust (a pale metallic pink shimmer with amazing iridescent glitter), which can be worn on the lids or used as a highlighter. And for an edgy, smoky liner, there’s the aptly named Blackheart — a super dimensional black matte flecked with red glitter.”

— Urban Decay

Naked3 contains

  • STRANGE — pale neutral pink matte-satin
  • DUST — pale metallic pink shimmer with iridescent micro-glitter
  • BURNOUT — light pinky-peach satin
  • LIMIT — light dusty rose matte
  • BUZZ — metallic rose shimmer with silver micro-glitter
  • TRICK — light metallic pinky-copper shimmer with tonal micro-sparkle
  • NOONER — medium pinky-brown matte
  • LIAR — medium metallic mauve shimmer
  • FACTORY — pinky-brown satin
  • MUGSHOT — metallic taupe shimmer with slight pink shift
  • DARKSIDE — deep taupe-mauve satin
  • BLACKHEART — smoky black matte with rosy red micro-sparkle

Naked3 also includes a new double-ended Good karma shadow and Blending Brush and an Eyeshadow Primer Potion sampler with resealable samples of all four formulas (original, Sin, Eden and new anti-aging). According to UD, each sample holds about a week’s worth of primer.

Naked3 (SRP $52) will be available later this month from Sephora, ULTA and select Macy’s stores. Or, online at sephora.com, ulta.com, macys.com, beauty.com and urbandecay.com. If you’d like to sign up to find out the exact date, you can do so here.

Need it! I just got my naked 2 from the friends and family sale, and i am so in love with it, i plan on buying this the second it launches online. I love rose gold, and blackheart looks amazing.

I also got the 500 pt Urban Decay set from sephora, which included anti aging UD primer potion. It is just as nice as the original, but i have no idea if it is living up to its anti aging claims. Thoughts, Karen?

Ooohhhh and Aaahhhh! I can hear angels singing! Angels with pink wings! It looks beyond gorgeous, this will probably and most likely my fave out of the 3. I think UD had a plan when they started the Naked range and this is the dinal big bang lol! If this would have been the firts one i’d probably skipped the other 2! (Or maybe not) i just love the Naked palettes, even if they would come up with nr. 4, 5 and 6 i would buy those too! Hahaha!

I’m so interested to see your swatches. You and I are very similar in skin color, so I find your swatches super helpful.

I’m so in love with roses right now. I can’t wait for the launch of Naked 3. It will be my first immediate purchase from the Naked line (I only bought Naked 2 last week!).

    OHMYGOODNESS!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been eying (<– why does that look weird?!) the Naked palettes for a bit, since I'm venturing into eyeshadow territory. This one looks fantastic! I'm a little iffy on the pink based hues, but I trust UD when they say it'll go well with almost every skin tone. There is the Naked2 (I think), but the blue shade threw me off and made me practice patience for something a little more…….a little more…something that includes colours that I will use. 🙂

Thanks for this! I look forward to buying my first high end palette! I haven't really experimented with my Hello Kitty brushes, but I'm headed to a MAC counter within the next month, so hopefully I'll learn some useful techniques. 😀

Hope all is well over there! There's hela HELLA cats at my LoLa's house. I'll send you a pic of Pogi, AKA: Garfield. He hela looks like my favourite fat cat, but he's nicer than Garfield 🙂

    Hi Karen,

I don’t know how I feel about this palette yet. I love half of it (the more brown side) but I feel like pink eyeshadows just make you look tired. I dunno. Juries out. What do you think?

    Happy Monday!
