My Fine Lines Like Tarte’s New Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector a Little Too Much

Maybe if I sleep for 18 hours one day and wake up feeling like a brand new girl, I might be able to wear Tarte’s Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector ($24) and get a lot out of it, but since that probably will not be happening (#teamnosleep), I don’t think I can pull it off.

Tarte calls this new creamy under-eye concealer full coverage, but I dunno… On me it’s pretty sheer. Plus, it settles into my fine lines (boo!) and makes my under-eye area look dry (grrr).

It comes in two shades, Light-Medium and Medium-Tan; both are available now at Tarte counters and online.

The worst thing a corrector/concealer can do is settle into fine lines! Too bad this one didnt deliver!

Uh, wow – I guess when this concelaer decided it was going to fail, it decided to go for gold and fail on all fronts! Line settling, dry looking, sheer…this concealer doesn’t have it all! 😉

I’m being sily, of course, but it’s always sad when a product that looks so promising is kind of a dud 🙁

I don’t need THAT much coverage, but settling into fine lines and making skin appear dry is a no-no! It’s funny how there are a gazillion ways for concealers to go wrong!

Ack, I hate it when that happens.

That sucks! I’ve found my HG concealers after soo many years of testing. .trial and error in Estee lauders double wear concealer and the ITCosmetics full coverage concealer. Both are so good! No creasing no settling into fine lines and full full coverage. The Nars creamy concealer was good at first but started to crease later.

I’m not normally one for concealer but I have been using it lately. Looks like I won’t be switching to Tarte! It’s a shame since I’m such a fan of their tinted moisturizer. 🙂

This doesn’t sound good at all. I hate when my concealers crease! I thought this was going to be creamy and opaque from the swatch but it just sounds like a pain in the butt

That’s so disappointing. I’m trying Tarte’s maracuja creaseless concealer today. And I’ve also heard so so much about Cle de Peau concealer- have you tried it Karen? It’s an investment but at this point I’m willing to go to desperate measures.

Booh! Too bad it creases 🙁 The texture looks like my kind of concealer.

PS: Am I the only one that thinks Tarte’s packaging is getting cuter and cuter? 😀

I haven’t had much luck with Tarte concealers either. :/

I use this corrector and it works for me but my undereye area is not overly dry. I use Caudalie Vinosource SOS Morning Eye Rescue on the area first and sometimes have to wait quite a while cause that stuff is so moisturizing!

I also like the sheerness of it for summer.

This product does not conceal my “crinkles” when I smile or laugh, but those things have been there since I was a teen. I remember one adolescent male telling me he liked them. I said I didn’t. I still don’t but they’re part of my look so I just go with them.

I have also used MUFE Lift which works better in winter for me.

Then there is Bobbi Brown eye brightener (now in the wand applicator). It can be a bit thick but it conceal dark undereyes and is supposed to soothe allergy circles (my biggest problem).

I tried MAC for a while but it was too drying for me. Same with Lancôme.

I find that I need a corrector more than a concealer and when I do use a concealer it is only in that pesky dark hollow beside the nose.

I do use a different product in the dry heat of summer in California than in the wet winter when my skin overall is lot happier! Sometimes the skin just gets too used to whatever you’re using and the payoff is not as good. The search for the right concealer/corrector is endless so try to enjoy it!

Thanks for the review. I’ll have to test this out to see if it actually covers my undereye circles before I buy.

So difficult to find an under eye concealer that really works. As much as I like the idea of Tarte, I have some products from that brand that are HGs for me and others that didn’t work for me at all. Thanks for the honest review.
