I didn’t realize how coordinated all these items were with the pink and beige packaging until just right meow! Weird.
Anywho, I wasn’t planning on buying any beauty things this week, but the other day I went to the dentist for a cleaning, and my dentist found not one, but two (!) cavities.
After the cleaning finished and my major meltdown with full-on blubbering and tears and everything was over (long story short, I’m an anxious dental patient!), I beelined it to Target and Sephora for some retail TLC.
I grabbed a few things I needed but have been putting off:
- Deodorant — I got the famous Donna Karan one.
- Hair conditioner — This wavy hair conditioner is new to me, but I’ve used some things from the Rhyme & Reason line and liked them.
- Makeup remover — I love an oil cleanser as a first step! I saw this Naturium Cleansing Oil at Target, and to be real, I bought it mostly because I thought the bottle was cute. LOL!
While I was at Sephora, I also picked up a birthday gift set by Ouai… Yup, next week I’m turning 43 again for the upmteenth time, ha ha.
I don’t know how this happened, but Connor is convinced that I’m 43, so I’ll take that number. Forever 43, baby!
Happy Friday to you. May your teeth be healthy and cavity free!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Did you do any beauty shopping this week?

Give yourself a pat on the back for comforting yourself with beauty treats instead of like I did on my way home yesterday – a Wendy’s chocolate Frosty. But you know what? It helped! Calories be damned! LOL
Have a great weekend!

That sounds really delicious!

I recently bought the Rose Inc skin tint tinted foundation that you recommended. Wow, it’s really awesome. I haven’t worn it out yet, but I have tried it in the house and I’m so impressed.
Karen says
I’m so glad you like it! 🙂

The Donna Karan antiperspirant works really well – my friends at Macy’s used to swear by but my skin has gotten too sensitive for it.
Ugh, sorry about the dentist. I have a history of dental anxiety because I’m really resistant to local anesthetic and have had a lot of appointments white knuckling it through. My current dentist is really good at getting me numb but it’s a painful process. I have terrible teeth but I’ve gotten better at getting dental work.
Karen says
I feel you, girl. Mine recommended getting a sedative before my next appointment. I full on lost it at the last one! 🙁

I kind of wish I would’ve picked up the Ouai gift instead of the Ilia one! Yesterday was National Nail Polish day (I’m sure you knew that!) and Target had 25% off all nail polish, so I picked up a few new Essie Gel Couture colors.

Rachel, how was the wedding? I was thinking about you guys on the 28th. Did the weather turn out ok? I hope everything went smoothly. Hi to the babies!
Rachel says
The weather was good! Hot and windy but no rain! The wedding itself was awesome! A quick ceremony followed by a big barbecue with friends and family that went into the evening hours. It was a blast! Now to change my name on all 500ish of my accounts! J/K but it’s a lot. 🫤

I find the DK Cashmere Mist Deodorant way too fragranced. Let us know how you like the cleansing oil. I’m looking for a new one. Not too fragranced, must remove stubborn sunscreen and makeup (but not necessarily mascara) and must rinse clean without leaving behind a film or residue.
Haha, when I was a kid I thought my mom was 39 forever. The reality was she was 42 by the time I was born.
So happy 43rd birthday!!!
Karen says
Definitely! I’ve been testing it out but want to wait a little while before saying if it’s worth picking up. 🙂
Thank you for the birthday wishes… FOREVER 43!!!

I picked up one of the new Supergoop Lipshades this week. I’ve only worn it at home so far and the formula feels comfortable, but I’m not so sure about the staying power of the color.
Karen says
I saw those and thought they looked cool. Let me know how it does in terms of sun protection!

I also chose the Ouai b’day gift this year. I do like the leave in conditioner spray, though it’s too heavy for me to use often. I know, you’ll find it doesn’t moisturize enough. 🙂
I’m sorry about the dentist. Will they use the desensitizing paste on you before they clean? I always request that with all my post-80s-braces recession. I’m even more sorry about the cavities. I was told it’s common as we get older, even for people who never had them their whole lives. Still, it’s a tough blow. 🙁 Hey, if sedation gets you through it, go for it!
