Time for a Quick Glance at Sonia Kashuk’s Sparkly Holiday Collection?

December 6th, 2011 by Karen 12 Comments

sonia kashuk holiday 2011 (9)

I had one foot out the door tonight on my way to do a little Christmas shopping at Target when I heard a sad meow…

I looked back and there was Tabs, sitting forlornly in the hallway as if to say, “Aren’t you going to post those pictures of the Sonia Kashuk Holiday 2011 collection?”

Ya know, that’s a pretty good idea. 🙂

I’m kinda bummed that Sonia didn’t include any new polishes in this release, but I am diggin’ that palette and those cute bags…

This year, Sonia also supplemented her holiday makeup with a range of luxury (read: rather pricey) brushes and accessories called the Oh La Luxe Collection, with pieces ranging in price from $14.99 for a compact mirror to $64.99 for a 10-piece brush roll set.

Sonia Kashuk Luxe - Agent Provocateur Train CaseFancy. 🙂

I’ve got my eye on Agent Provocateur, a $34.99 Train Case back-ordered at many Target stores, like the one by me, for up to four weeks!

I like its slim profile and the fact that it has cubbies, so I’m willing to wait.

My Week With Marilyn

This totally isn’t Sonia related, but the latest Entertainment Weekly has this lovely beauty breakdown of actress Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe, who she plays in the new movie, My Week With Marilyn.

Check out those lips…

Pretty, yah? So bold, and yet soft at the same time. Most of the time when I wear red lipstick, I aim for full-coverage, opaque looks, but this light stain is giving me ideas…

Toodle-loo, Tuesday!

Hope you made it through the day with a smile on your face. 🙂

Wow, I’m plum tuckered out… Time for some Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (my latest guilty pleasure), and I recorded a Viking flick called Valhalla Rising that I’ve been meaning to watch. It’s by the same guy who directed Ryan Gosling in Drive.

What are you up to tonight?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I love Sonia Kashuk’s Professional brushes (the one with the black handles) because they feel so soft; however, her white handled brushes feel a bit scratchy. I wonder how the the limited edition brushes feel.

What are Sonia Kashuk’s brushes like compared to, say Bobbi Brown’s? EcoTools? Sephora’s? I use Bobbi Brown’s right now but would like some for travel (size doesn’t matter) and am looking for some reasonably priced, quality brushes. Thanks!

The All Out-Glam 6 pieces brush set looks interesting. How do the brushes feel? I kinda want to pick up the set… There are some brushes there that I need (or want lol :-)).

I have the holiday Kabuki brush from SK and I lurve it! It feels so good and looks so pretty on my vanity. I’m thinking of getting the entire holiday brush set–mostly because I want the stipple brush.

It’s so funny that you mention the Michelle Williams break-down because I TOTALLY thought of you when I read it in EW the other night. I thought “yeah, I know about MAC Russian Red, thanks to Karen; I’ll bet she’s mixed it with Brave Red before, too.” 🙂 And on a completely unrelated to beauty topic. I gushed to the Hubs for 20 minutes about how much I love Steven Spielberg’s movies and how War Horse would most certainly have me sobbing (like the Black Beauty incident). HAHA! Man, I love EW! 🙂

PS Those brushes and compacts from SK are sweet!

These are all so cute! Can’t help but love the sparkly brush set. I love that she included some not-so-basic brushes like the pointed/tapered ones. RHoB is totally my guilty pleasure, too.

Does it say what eyeshadow was used in My Week with Marilyn? I’m having such a hard time finding any info on what makeup was used! Thank you so much for posting about the lipsticks!
