Funky Bullets! A Quick Look at a Few Shades From the Estée Lauder Pure Color Love Lipstick Line

I can’t be the only person out there whose first thought when they saw these funky angled bullets was to use them as a whistle…

I just can’t be!

For the record, you can apply the Estée Lauder Pure Love Lipsticks ($22 each) straight from the bullets, then rub your lips together to move the lipstick around, but the color concentrates in the middle and feathers out unevenly to where it ends up looking like you were trying to recreate something editorial, chic and Vogue-like but didn’t quite get there…

The angled tip does work well, especially for getting into the corners and around the edges of your lips, but it’s a tad awkward to wield at first.

The line launched this spring in a whole mess of pretty affordable $22 colors and finishes — 30 total — with some striking brights, like Shock & Awe, an opaque semi-matte bright red that completely covers my lips in a single swipe.

I’m feelin’ it.

The four I’ve tried feel fab, creamy and comfortable. They also smell and taste like brown sugar (YUM!). I like ’em, even if it takes a minute or two to master the funky bullet!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I love these! They have three more bold ones, duo-Chromes, that are really nice too! Radical Chic is a great shade on you x

I like the packaging, reminds me of the Dior Addicts. I think Ulta is having a sale on these too, perhaps I will try one or two!

I like the funky tip. I feel like you could alternate sides to keep the bullet even. That probably matters to no one aside from me, but I hate it when the tip gets misshapen. I’m also the person who has to make sure the surface of the dip is always smooth. Weird, I know.

    Hi Karen!
It’s funny but somehow I always end up shaping my lipsticks’ bullets that way – it’s odd to see that now I can get a lipstick that ‘s already shaped like that 😀 !
    Have a fun weekend, everyone!

The lipstick itself is very reminiscent of the Besame lipsticks, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were trying to go old school with these.
