Riding (not so Dirty) in the Bare Traps Susanna Riding Boots

Gonna catch me ridin’ dirty!

Gonna catch me ridin’ dirty!

OK, I have to sing that song every time I put on these Susanna Riding Boots by Bare Traps, even though I’ve never ridden dirty in my life, because I just like sayin’ it.

These are the boots I was wearing in the 28-week bump watch, and, long story short, they’re awesome! And they’re awesome for so many reasons, one of which is the fact that they don’t have to be broken in.

Do you have the patience to break in shoes? Because I don’t, not anymore. I used to, but now if a pair of shoes are uncomfortable the first time I put them on my feet, I’m like, “Yeah, peace-the-eff out. Not having anything to do with ya.”

These felt great from the first time I tried them on, and the very same day I got them I went to the mall, then to the movies, and I was basically out and about the whole day.

Granted, this was also while very pregnant, and with swollen feet, and these boots were STILL really comfortable.

And there’s more…

The leather upper — wait, I think it’s leather. Is it? Let me check… Oh! So, they aren’t real leather. They’re faux. FYI. So, there’s that, which could be either good or bad, depending on how you feel about leather.

The height of the heel is one of the things that I think makes them so comfortable. The heel isn’t high — it’s just 1-1/8 inches tall — which I can manage. They add a bit of elevation but stop short of potentially wobbly territory.

The back of the boot also has this kind of elastic area that stretches, and there’s also a buckle on the side that you can unfasten to give you even MORE room and help you get a good fit, like if you’re wearing two pairs of thick socks that day.

They come in three colors, and the one shown here is called Brushed Brown.

They also comes in Black and a darker gray called Mushroom.

FYI, did I mention that these aren’t real leather? They’re faux, just to let you know in case that’s important to you.

They’re also normally $99, but they’re currently on sale at macys.com for $84.99 through December 23, and I spotted them on Amazon for the same price.

Check out the online reviews while you’re there, by the way. They’re glowing! — and I’d be inclined to agree. I really like these.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

The cool thing about them being faux leather is that they will be great on rainy days. I’m wearing my faux short boots today and you totally can’t tell they are not leather and comfort wise I can’t tell either! 🙂

      Hi Leah,

Great point. It’s been raining and storming like crazy here in the North Bay Area so I’ll definitely be needing these for rainy days.

      Happy holidays to you! 🙂

I need that elastic bit at the back. Even in my non-pregnant state boots tend to fit me too tight around the calf, and now, being pregnant, I cant wear half of my boots anymore.

did the size run small for you? Many reviews say to get a half size up but some say they are true to size. I am a 6.5 and wondering what I should do. ha. What was your experience? Thanks!!
