** THE GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED **

This giveaway is closed, and the winner has been contacted (CONGRATULATIONS, AMY!!!), but check back next Saturday for another giveaway.

sephora-giveaway-043016

This is going to sound completely random, but do you ever go to Panera Bread? I had one of their salads the other day (the Fuji Apple Chicken Salad), and I’ll be danged if it wasn’t one of the highlights of my week!

Good salads…

LOL! Rise and shine, morning glory! Happy Caturday! 🙂 How’s everything over there? What was the highlight of your week?

I’m still chugging along. Connor Claire is getting bigger and smiling more every day, and Tabs has been soaking up the spring weather and enjoying the upgrades El Hub made to the deck garden.

About that, we didn’t go as far with the garden this year as we did last year, but we did plant six or seven tomato plants, a bit of basil, some zucchini squash, a few patches of cat grass and a hot pepper plant, so there’s some new greenery for him to explore (and to attract birds for Tabby TV).

I can’t believe it’s already May…but I say that every month, “I can’t believe it’s ______.” It’s true, though. I can’t believe it’s already May! Time seems to go by faster every day.

Are you doing anything fun this weekend? Before you get going, don’t forget to enter this weekend’s Sephora giveaway. Good luck!

Good morning, Karen! Highlight of my week was the Pearl Jam concert last night! I’ve seen them several times but last night was probably THE BEST ONE I’ve seen so far. They have so many hits and they played all of the ones I wanted to hear last night! Rest of the weekend is relaxing and my son’s baseball game this afternoon.

The Fuji apple, chicken salad sounds yummy. There aren’t any Panera’s nearby, but the next time I visit the Dear Daughter in SJ, I’m going to suggest we go there for lunch. It looks like there’s one pretty close to where she’s living.

    Prettiest lipstick packaging?

I like many styles but Rouge G and CL come to mind. I prefer something more minimal like TF. The UD Gwen Stefani line had a cute pattern.

    What’s a product that’s a straight-up copy of something else?

Geez, I can’t think of one off the top of my head. Probably half of what ELF makes?

What’s a product you’ve been thinking about adding to your makeup routine?

    Makeup? Not much. Skincare, tons.

Do any of your coworkers really know you?

    Nope

What’s your favorite quad or quint?

An LE one from Chanel Poesie

What’s the largest amount of money you’ve ever just found on the ground before?

One on the floor of the bus, one in the curb by the mall and one on the floor at Walgreen’s. I feel bad for the people who lose the cash, but there is no way of finding out whose it is. So the house in SC has been ready for 2 years & we have been using it as a vacation for that long. Not only did she put it on the market but within 24 hours there were already 6 showings scheduled! I hate to be negative, but it just really isn’t worth the money for anything else. I guess they stopped making Fix+ because I cannot find it. That was a great product. Why companies phase out good products, I’ll never know! They say Coolata- I guess that’s how it’s spelled – makes a really great setting spray – it’s rather expensive though.

Prettiest lipstick packaging? It is most certainly the Kiko Milano newest LE trend line designed by Lovegrove. It’s the textured , rose gold sleeve that’s chic and has FABULOUS written all over it (well not really but figuratively speaking that’s what it says).

I love the magnetic click when closing Estée Lauder pure color envy lipsticks, but the case seems unnecessarily bulky and scratches very quickly in my purse (even with only 1 other thing in that pocket!!). I also really love urban decay revolution packaging, it feels powerful and hardcore somehow, I like to hold them. The similar metal casing on toofaced are nice too. $26 dollars, but it found me. My friend always say my family and I have the most amazing things happen and it’s true. I was sitting on Waikiki beach one night praying. It was a big question.

Should I marry my then boyfriend who was 26 years old? I was concerned because he was younger than I was. For some reason this was my only qualm. In every other way he was my perfect match. I had just imagined my husband would be older seeing as EVERY man I had dated before him was at least 10 years older than I was.

I asked for a sign and I stood up and walked across the sand in the dark night hoping to avoid the B52’s (cockroaches that fly at night, just HUGE!)when something hit my leg. Thought it was a bug, nope, I started but it stuck to my leg, it was a 20 dollar bill. “Cool” I thought.

I continued to walk back to the sidewalk. Before my feet hit cement another bill blew up onto my leg, it was $5 dollars. As I stepped onto the sidewalk a single $1.00 bill hit my leg. I had exactly 26 dollars.

Believe what you want but that was my, very clear, sign. Now I think if I had known we would have ended up married I wouldn’t have spent it!

I think the YSL Rouge Voluptes and Rouge Volupte Shines have the most beautiful packaging, with the color of the lipstick showing through the gold filigree band on the tube. However, I’m going to disagree with people who like their lipsticks to have lots of ‘heft’, be heavy in the hand, as part of a luxurious feel, as these lipsticks do. I get where they’re coming from, but heavy cosmetics make my bag really heavy to tote around and are completely impractical for a professional kit. The only practical way to use these in a pro kit is to de-pot them and put them in a palette. And even when I’m just trying to lighten my load in my school backpack, every half an ounce counts! So I actually prefer the Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense and Rouge Artist Natural packaging: its simple black and silver design is sleek and elegant, it’s lightweight and hence easy to carry with you, and the square-ish tubes won’t roll off a table.

I always let my toddler “help” me at the atm. Once I let him pull the $20 from the machine. My attention was diverted for a few seconds and the next thing I knew, the bill was gone. I was bummed but couldn’t be mad at a toddler- I was mad at myself for not paying closer attention. I didn’t stop letting him help because of it. A couple of years later he and I were walking and he noticed something on the ground- it was a $20 bill! I felt it made its way back to us somehow. Now he is almost 20 and still a bit obsessed with money- he is launching his own business and works harder than anyone I know. He makes me so proud!

Tom Ford’s lippies are hands down the best. Even if they’re fairly straightforward, they’re classy and SO HEAVY… it at least makes you feel like you’re getting something substantial for all that money you just shelled out! 🙂 The new Magnolia SE lipstick from Givenchy at Sephora also has a beautiful case, as do some of their other lip options.

Even more than the outside case, though, I love a good stamped bullet! it KILLS ME to use a new TF for the first time because of how exceptionally perfect it looks untouched! Burberry is also ahead of the game with their plaid-stamped bullets! (though I’ve never had the pleasure of actually trying one of those– no one carries that line near me!)

They’re all singles, to the mini travel palettes with 6 shadows (smashbox I reallly do like) or my largest favorite palette is the UD Naked 3! I have absolutely no eyeshadow skills so I typically go for one of the shimmery shades and dust it all over my lids and call it a day! 😀 Largest amount found on the ground was 2 $20 bills!!! Next to a garbage disposal behind the building I work at. With no one anywhere to be found, I slipped that right into my pocket xD. Time goes by so fast! I love the purple packing of the Urban Decay Sheer Revolutiom Lipstick. It’s so sleek and weighty.

The most money I have ever found on the ground was a $20 bill and that was over 10 years ago.

I don’t know about THE prettiest lipstick packaging, but a very pretty one was the limited edition MAC Proenza Schouler a couple of years ago. Product that’s a straight up copy/dupe….NYX Micro Brown pencil for Anastasia Brow Wiz. Saving money! Holla! Lol.

I don’t know if I would consider them copy-cat products, but a lot of drugstore brands are coming out with their own versions of very trendy products (brow stuff, liquid lipstick). While some products lack originality, it’s a great way to try out a trend without having to buy an expensive product.

I’m thinking of adding a primer, like Too Faced Hangover, to my beauty routine. You’ve convinced me to try it out!

The prettiest lipstick packaging hands down is YSL! They are like a thing of beauty! The rouge voluptes in particular are gorgeous!

I have a lot in common with several co-workers, but I don’t tell them anything really personal. I like to keep my “real” life separate from work life.

I think the classic Mac lipstick is a thing of beauty; it is classic, timeless, recognizable, and quality. Kind of sums me up, haha. Classic and sometimes flashy on the inside! maybe i like it for the feelings it evokes in me!

I have never had to use blush since I had good natural color. Now that I am getting older I think I may need to add it to my beauty routine.

On top of working most of last week, I took care of my kids who were both sick. Then they gave it to me. But I’m hoping for a great week!!

I once found $500 in an envelope in the bank parking lot. Someone had scrawled the name of a publisher, Simon & Schuster, on the outside. Of course I returned it to the bank — who am I to deprive a struggling author of some cash?

I am thinking of getting another one of Stila All Day Lipsticks. I have one that I have been wearing more recently and it’s sooo good! It stays on for hours, even through eating!
