Guerlain Happy Glow Pearls of Powder

Picture it: a crisp Easter morning. The windows are open, the finches are chirping, and the bees are buzzing. The sun is up and bright in the sky.

How cool would it be to wake up on Easter morning and find a jar of Guerlain Meteorites Happy Glow Pearls of Powder ($74) in your basket beside the jelly beans and Cadbury Mini Eggs (yum!)? I’d be like, thank you, Easter Bunny!

(Side note: you can have the marshmallow ? Peeps. Frankly, I don’t want anything to do with ’em.)

You gotta admit, there is something a little Easter Eggy about this packaging…

These happy pink, peach and purple pearls are actually a color-correcting face powder. All you do is you swirl your brush in the jar, then apply all over your face to even out any redness.

This came out a few weeks ago with Guerlain’s spring collection, and I can say this much for it — the powder smells amazing. I never get tired of the violet candy scent.

Unfortunately, the color-correcting aspect doesn’t work well for me (boo!), but I think it would work much better for lighter lasses and lads with cooler skin tones. When I dust the powder all over my face, my skin only looks a little more matte, but that’s about it.

My peeps (not the candy kind) who love color-correcting goodies like BECCA’s pearly purple First Light primer will probably get a lot more out of it. Lucky!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I definitely don’t need a powder quite as expensive as this, or really that much at all. Nor do I have the money in reality. But I must admit every time a new version of Meteorites is released they continue to really draw me in, I feel that one day I will actually give in to the temptation. Until then I’m just going to look at pictures of them.

So they are mattifying? I always envisioned them to be shimmery. Maybe I should take a closer look at them then. I don’t think the Easter Bunny around her carries makeup.

This is the kind of thing I always want, but definitely don’t need! It looks beautiful in the pot. I think it’ll be a little light for me though!

Never got addicted to Meteorites by Guerlain, although Ive always thought that the packaging is fab. I also thought that these were shimmery, if they’re matte though, the product would be a better option maybe.

I have this and I love it. I’m super pale, maybe a NW10 on a good day and you’re right, it works great on my lighter skin tone. I find it just barely mattifying. I have dry skin and I find I need a good blot midday (I also moisturize like crazy though as I live in the desert). I’ve been using it as my only powder after foundation and it does sort of blur mild imperfections too. We’ll see how it holds up in an Arizona summer!

Hmmm, I’m not sure that those colors would do much for redness! I’ve always used yellow and green correctors for redness!

This makes me want violet mints, not color correcting powder.
