Sarah Michelle Gellar: Her Best Hair?

May 28th, 2009 by Karen 31 Comments

You know I loves me some Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which means Sarah Michelle Gellar (aka Mrs. Freddie Prinze Jr., aka Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is tops in my book.

I was thrilled to hear that she’s expecting — her baby bump is just starting to show, and she looks too cute on the set of her new film,The Wonderful Maladys.

I dig the long, blonde hair she’s been sporting with bangs these days, but I also like her as a brunette and thought she looked gorge in Suburban Girl (um, did anybody else watch that, or was I the only one?).

Which of Sarah Michelle Gellar's hairstyles do you like best?

P.S. Have you heard the latest news from the Buffyverse? Hollywood wants to remake the Buffy the Vampire movie without input from TV show creator Joss Whedon (of Dollhouse, Angel, Buffy and Firefly fame).

Joss Whedon is amazing! My favorite shows are Dollhouse and Firefly … and it sucks big time that HWood wants a Buffy movie without him! 😐

Yeah, a Buffy movie without Joss Whedon. How stupid is that?

    Anyway, I like 3 and 7. 🙂

Why would they alienate the Buffy fan base that way!!! It’s so ridiculous. I’m sure that movie will do horribly at the box office.

Also, speaking of Joss Whedon, OMG Karen have you ever seen Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog?? Neil Patrick Harris is so great it in and the songs are sooooo hilarious and great!

LOLOL! Why is Neil Patrick Harris so funny?!? He will forever be stuck in my head as Doogie Houser, MD. 🙂

I love SMG! She can rock any of those looks! I chose #5 because it has the Buffy vibe! 🙂

I just don’t know why anyone would do a movie without Joss Whedon if there was any other choice! He’s brilliant!

      Hi Glosslizard,

Me too! Did you see her in Suburban Girl? It’s a movie based on the book A Girl’s Guide to Hunting and Fishing (an excellent read). I thought she was really good in it… plus the dark hair suited her nicely.

It would be wrong to do a Buffy movie without JW. It’s like eating Oreo cookies without having any milk to dip them in, boo.

      Hi Tatiana,

Yup, that’s the one. Have you read the book it’s based off of? The movie was good, but the book was even better. It’s called The Girl’s Guide to Hunting and Fishing.

oh those pregnancy photos made me smile:] I love her! haha i picked #5 b/c that’s the hairstyle she pretty much had throughout Buffy! I also read on a blog that the new movie is supposed to star the original gang minus SMG. I hope it’s not true I loved the series, but how can they cast everyone but Buffy herself:[ She already stated she would never ever make a Buffy movie.

As much as I’d love another Buffy movie.. the idea of it without Sarah AND Joss is just unbearable.
It would just be a movie with the same name, nothing more.

    So sad 🙁

But Sarah being preggo! So happy for her! Been waiting for them to have a baby for years!

Where has she been lately? I remember Sarah and JLove to rule the teen screens in the late 90s and early 2000s. Now JLove is in Ghost Whisperer but how about Sarah?

      Hi Dao,

She’s been busy making films. I watched a few that she did and they were pretty good. Check out The Air I Breathe. Brendan Frasier is in it, too.

Aw, nuts! I’m known for my minority number picking but I actually picked the most popular one this time! Poo.

    I was stuck between 3, 5 and 7 but picked number 3.

That’s blasphemy re: not even consulting Joss Whedon on the Buffy movie. Just. Not. Right.

I agree. Leaving him out would totally alienate the Buffy fan base, for sure.

Have you been keeping up with the new show Dollhouse?

Joss Whedon is one of the best TV writers of all time (I’m a huge Firefly fan but I never got around to watching Buffy). They would be making a huge mistake leaving him out, not to mention alienating the entire Buffy fan base. Boo.

I think she looks pretty in all those hairdos up there (except maybe 8 because the bangs are too long) but I like 3 the best.

So true, Karen. I’m just so used to picking the minority haircut it’s weird to be in the majority.

We’re doing all right. It’s overcast here right now and cool (61). I keep wondering when the sun is going to come out again. It’s supposed to be sunny tomorrow with a high of 69 but knowing the Midwest, it could go that course or change to rain. I’m hoping the sun decides to peek out! Overcast is not fun!

      Hi Kate & Zena,

No it isn’t! It was overcast here for most of the morning. The sun is finally out, hooray! I am aching for summer weather, though. It’s weird to be in a sweatshirt after walking around in shorts and flip flops all last week.

Anyway, got any exciting plans for the weekend?

I don’t have any plans so far except walking Zena and giving her her monthly medicine (Frontline and Heartgard) followed by a bath on Monday or Tuesday. The Frontline makes her fur a bit sticky where it’s applied so she gets a bath 24-48 hours after the Frontline.

I’m in jeans and a long-sleeve shirt. What’s funny is that it warmed up four degrees since I walked since at 4:30! It went from 59 to 62. Very strange, I tell you.

      Hi Kate & Zena,

Sounds like your weekend will be pretty relaxing… that’s always good. 🙂

I’ve noticed that Frontline does the same to Tabs’ fur, too. We just kinda let him roll with it… it’s too hard to give him a bath (yes, he’s still stinky). I have to buy him some powdered pet shampoo this weekend, for sure.

OMGSH. I love Sarah Michelle Gellar. She will always be Buffy to me. I lived on that show. I was so dissapointed with the direction it went after a few seasons into college. I mean Spike and Buffy. HELLO?! No.

Loved the Angel spinoff too. Hollaa David Boreanaz <3

They can’t do a Buffy movie w/ the cast minus SMG OR w/o Joss Whedon. It just won’t work. Let our show, rest in peace.

Hi Karen! Yeah, we have Firefly and Serenity on DVD. I’ve seen Serenity more than a few times and I love it. We saw it in the theater when it first came out and I was crying my eyeballs out (quietly of course) when Wash died. I think either the rest of the people in the theater were not familiar with the series or were just a bunch of insensitive assholes because people were looking at me funny as we were walking out and I was still wiping tears away. 🙁 I think my husband was choking back a few tears though. But seriously, I loved Zoe and Wash’s relationship and I was crushed that she lost him.

      Hi Sole,

That scene was heartbreaking. I remember grabbing El Hub’s arm and us both being really shocked when it happened. 🙁

Have you been watching Dollhouse? The guy who played Wash stars in it as a bad guy!

Ha ha, we give her a bath as we can’t stand the feeling of stickiness. I love how baby-soft her fur feels when she’s dry from a bath. We have a shampoo that’s formulated for sensitive skin for Zena so I don’t have to worry about irritation if I have to bathe her more than once in a month.

I’ve never dried powdered pet shampoo. I prefer taking the good fifteen or so minutes to wash and dry Zena to check for any unusual bumps, cuts, bugs and what not while bathing her. She gets cuts in weird places from chasing bunnies and squirrels so I like knowing where they are so I make sure they don’t get infected.

Sarah is adorable! Everything she has done suits her very well. My favorite is the 4th one. I’m glad she has an upcoming drama movie ”Veronika Decides to Die” and a pilot for HBO ”The Wonderful Maladys”. And she is also pregnant! I hope everything will be great for her. 😉
