7 estee-top

Happy Saturday, girls! 🙂 I hope you’ve been having a good weekend so far.

It finally stopped raining here for a few minutes, LOL! Today we went for a drive, looking for sunny weather. We found some on the south side of the island and to the east to an area called Hawaii Kai. I’m not sure what our plans are for tonight, but I’m kinda in the mood to see a movie.

Any recommendations? I’m thinking about Avatar or It’s Complicated…

Before you go (post-Christmas shopping, maybe?), take a moment to enter today’s giveaway. 🙂

The prize

One lucky lady will win Estee Lauder’s Black Smoke Eyeshadow Quad (a $35 value), a palette with four powder eyeshadows perfect for creating black/gray smokey eyes.

Coastal Scents 88 Original/Matte Palette. It’s a great way to try out a tonne of colours for an affordable price, and I personally think everybody should get it before the shimmer palette – after all, if you can figure out how to work with mattes, everything else seems easy 😀

I did LOVE the Get Baked palette too, which I picked up toward the end of this year. The colours are so well coordinated, the gold/neutral with a pop of teal is the PERFECT summer look, and I love that it comes with a mini 24/7 liner and Sin UDPP ^_^

My favorite eyeshadow palette of the year, hands down, is the Nars Pleasures of Paris palette. I’ve really been into dusty purples this year, and this palette is filled with the most gorgeous shades!!! ANd I like how they included a brown–this is actually where I got the idea to pair a matte purple with a shimmery brown–most palettes just give you a dark purple, so I was really happy with this one! The people at Nars really outdid themselves this year. Their advertisements are always stunning!!! But Pleasures of Paris really is beautiful!

The only palette I really got this year (from my mom for Christmas) was this pretty Urban Decay one. I totally lost the box and it doesn’t say which one it is on the box, but it’s realllllyyyyy pretty!! It has Painkiller, Flash, Toasted, Mildew, Snatch and Smog. It comes in this cool little box, BUT IT DOESN’T SAY THE NAME OF THE PALETTE!! That makes me really mad. Anywho, the colors are really nice and super blendable. I think my favorite is Mildew because I’ve never really had a good green color before. Plus Painkiller is like SUPER intense!! They’re all nice, but Mildew really caught my eye.

my favorite palette would have to be Urban Decay’s Get Baked palette ’cause it’s the only one i have 🙂
i watched sherlock holmes . it was okay . nothing spectacular .
i’d go see it’s complicated because meryl streep is amazing & alec baldwin is hilarious .
all the avatar hype is annoying [no offense to any sensitive souls].
i’ll wait until i only have to pay one dollar to sit through 3:30 minutes of movie 🙂
what movie did you end up watching ? haha .

WOW. a tough one as I purchased several new palettes this year. The 120 and the 88 from CS were awesome but my biggest UPS go out to Urban Decay BOSII. The colors are unique and very usable. The 2 liners that come with it and the PP really make it worth the money you would be spending. Kind of like a drug tho, as i am now addicted to their liners. What to do? What to do? Isn’t life hard? Mahal!

Coastal Scents 88 eye palette for the awesome color payoff and variety and well mostly for its unbeatable affordability. It covers all sorts of looks I’d try to do and it’s my favourite toy to play with when I’m bored LOL but I’d love the Estee Lauder black smoke, I can try the earlier post with all those tips.. The post made me itch to try! So far I only have the Loreal and it’s just awful. All the shades are really just shimmer on my eyes. It would look great if i was trying to drag, but I’m not haha. It also just makes me look pale and I’ll have this grey cast.. I can’t even begin to tell you how that looks in photos.. gah.

I read through every comment to see if my favorite palette had been mentioned yet, but no one did! My favorite palette of the year is Brun Mordore by Guerlain. The pigmentation is BAM, the blendability is SUPAH, and the taupe is KILLER! I can’t recommend it enough!

I’d have to say Urban Decay Get Baked. I’m trying to use a little more color in my makeup and this gives a nice accent with the blue. I’m not totally comfortable using a lot of color yet, so this palette gives me a nice few colors that I can use together and not feel clownish in! Happy holidays 🙂

I got a Nordstrom palette for Christmas and it’s great. All the colors are very wearable. I also like my Sephora blockbuster, but some of the colors are a bit out-there for me.
