Hello and happy Caturday/Saturday to ya! I’m really, really excited this morning.
Well, more like my roots are excited, because I’m finally, after what feels like eons, going to the salon to get my hair colored today. HOORAY TIMES INFINITY! 🙂
No cut today (I’m growing it out), just roots and a touchup for my highlights. The plan is to stick with the same color I have now (because if it ain’t broke…), but I’m not 100% certain that’s going to happen.
I found this picture of Megan Fox a while back when I was looking for hair inspiration, and I absolutely love the rich, chocolately color. I figure it’s fall, so it’s as good a time as any to go darker, but I know myself way too well… I’d probably love it for about a day or so, and then start getting itchy again for lighter hair.
We’ll see, we’ll see. I usually decide the second my butt hits the chair.
When I told El Hub about my hair plans, I figured he’d be on board because he likes my hair long, but he was surprisingly nonchalant about the whole thing. He mumbled something about not getting too attached to it because I’ll “eventually just chop it all off anyway,” which is totally true, hahaha!
Whatevs. It gives me something to do.

I have a foundation brush, but I usually just end up using my fingers. I guess I’m not patient enough to fish around for multiple brushes during my makeup routine, so the fewer the better.

After years of having short hair, my younger daughter finally convinced me to grow out my hair so she has another guinea pig for her hair braiding wizardry. That stage where my hair was hitting my shoulders was THE WORST, as bad as that awkward stage where you’re growing out your bangs and they’re too long and cover your eyes, but too short to tuck behind your ears. The things I do for my kids… 😉

For BB cream or tinted moisturizer, I’ll usually use my fingers or an extra powder brush I have (it makes for surprisingly even coverage). For foundation, I apply and spread it with a foundation brush and then blend it with a Beauty Blender sponge.
Ah, perfect nude lipstick… So many things to so many people. Still looking for that! Would love to try that TF Sable Smoke or maybe La Metier de Beaute’s San Tropez.

Love light and dark nail polishes but I’m definitely huge on them having to be suiting of the season!
I like to coordinate my nails with the season but I am definitely drawn to bright, saturated nail color. Looking forward to some of the dark hues for fall!

Right now it’s reddish brown, but because of different coloring jobs in the past my roots are showing up lighter. I don’t know if I should just let it all grow out and go red, or touch up the roots and make them darker. But if I do the latter then I will never be able to go to the lighter red that I like so much…

The first time I tried YSL’s glossy stains I was not impressed. I was actually depressed about it because for 34 USD I really wanted it to work on me but it was really sticky and the dark color was patchy on my lips…skip to literally yesterday I went to Sephora and I saw that YSL had a new shade line of their much raved about glossy stains, so I decided to take the plunge again and I am happy to say I am in love 🙂 I bought Naughty Mauve and I love the plumping effect it gives my lips plus it isn’t sticky and the color goes on perfectly…in short I guess love sometimes happens when you really want it to 🙂

I have a huge issue with nail polish–I love the idea of it, but I don’t have the patience for it to dry so it always screws up, and the next day I start picking at it. As for my favourite nude lippie, NYX makes a great one but I can’t remember what it’s called!
I like rich coloured nail polish. Lighter and brighter in the summer, and darker, more jewel-toned in the fall and winter 🙂

My greatest accomplishment this week was making amends with a friend (forgiving others is so much better than holding grudges).
I Love applying my Foundation with a synthetic face brush like the Face Expert Brush from Real Techniques or Sigma F82 and my concealer with a damp beauty blender because I avoid creasing that way. I also like to to apply foundation around the corners of my nose with the pointy side of the beauty blender
I’m not sure if I should place another sephora order….but the little hourglass set just looks too cute!
Haven’t been to Sephora in awhile. This could come in handy. Would love some Dior nailpolishes!
Let’s answer two this time.. I kinda prefer darker nail polishes, but some shades of red and pinky-red are lovely too! AND I apply foundation with my fingers at the moment, but I’d like to get a brush for that, maybe a stippling brush (not a flat one though, don’t like it!)

I use Mac Studio Sculpt with a beauty blender sponge, I like to get the sponge wet with Studio Fix+ before I apply. I’m in love with this technique. For big nights out I will use a foundation brush and my fingers for more coverage.
The Rae Morris Radiance brush is by far the best foundation buffing brush for me. No streaks. Airbrushed finish. Fabulous!
I thought about taking a segway tour around Boston when I was there last month but decided against it. With my luck I would have ended up in the harbor.

Tried out a new lipstick from milani and i love it!
I love all shades of nail polish but light shades such as nudes and pinks tend to go with a variety of outfits. For this reason, I wear them more often.
I use MakeUp Forever Foundation and have always used my fingers for it. Its not the most sanitary but it gives me the best coverage and finish.
I don’t really know what to say. My biggest accomplishment this week has been working on the anime convention I help out with. I like most colors of nail polish, it just depends on what color I am in the mood for at the time.
I’ve never ridden a Segway, even though the inventor, Dean Kamen, has his company HQ in the city where I live. Shame on me!!

I find that applying my foundation with a wet sponge provides the most natural and semi-dewy finish, without applying too much product.
I love both bright and dark color polishes! If Ihave a dark color on my toes, I’ll go for a lighter color on hands and vice versa. I also end up doing a skittles mani a lot of the time. This usuually happens when I get a bunch or new polishes, and can’t wait to try them out. 🙂
My choices in nail polish wax and wane with the seasons. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with taupe and oxblood polish!

Oh my goodness, Megan Fox’s hair color in that picture is BEAUTIFUL. My hair is going darker for the fall too. I have to use a brush for my foundation, specifically the Sigma F80 for that flawless face. No regrets whatsoever.

To make some extra money, I’ve started tutoring in a subject difficult for any art-birds to understand, or to just scrape by passing at – Algebra. Math in general. It’s that right brain, left brain struggle. Well I started helping a friend and with a days’ energy understanding the stuff myself, my friend was able to get an 80 on her first test. That felt like an accomplishment!

Last night’s dinner was homemade potato & broccoli soup, with a side of medium-sized roasted colored peppers stuffed with a mixture of goat cheese/crushed almonds/garlic.
Im wearing OPI warm and fozzie on my nails….the perfect sparkly bronze for fall.

i go back and forth between a flat brush, a stippling brush and my fingers to put on foundation. Fingers give heavy coverage, flat brush is medium but seamless and stippling is sheer but thorough. Depends on my mood — and my SKIN!!
I love nail polish! My faves are bright shiny full of gleam. Purples, bright blues, raucous reds & passionate pinks all are gorgeous! I also like dark blackish blues & greens & purples too when all my nails break off! I HATE nudes! They look like skin! Ack!

I was trying to be healthy but that got ruined when my husband decided to order loaded potato skins for an app. & we shared upside down peach cake for desert lol. Making up for it today though! For foundation, I usually apply with a Real Techniques buffing brush, then use a Beauty Blender to make sure it’s completely blended.
I used fingers to apply my foundation for years but I now use a Sigma F80 flat top synthetic kabuki. It is amazing the difference, I’ll never go back to fingers.

My biggest accomplishment this week was that I learned all but two songs in our lineup. There’s about 25 in total…next band practice is this Monday!
I use a makeup combo of sponges, brush and my fingers to apply foundation.
I use the beauty blender most often 🙂
This week I had a number of big accomplishments. I was able to make my mother happy for her birthday and I also surprised my boyfriend for our 2 year anniversary :)! Aside from that I’ve been working on some things for my blog as my blogging anniversary is coming up this week.
Also, I like both dark polish and light polish, it just depends on the occasion and the nail shape!
I am in LOVE with marshmallows in my hot chocolate! Marshmallows in anything really hehe!

Not completely nude–more like a “my lips but better” lippie: Korres Mango Butter Lipstick in 25 Natural Rose. Made me believe in lipstick again–does not dry out lips.
I’ve never tried a Segway but I’ve noticed the fairies in the Disneyland parade to ride on Segways! How cool is that!

Wore blue eyeshadow today and it was beautiful! Light brown in the crease, nude with shimmers in the inner corner and brown bone, and deep purple in the outer V. Blue definitely can be wearable too!

I love darker shades in the fall. It just adds to the whole Fall, romance, drama thing I love so much.
I love dark and light nail polish. But in the fall, I usually wear the deep, dark colors.
I love darker polishes for the fall. Especially like burgundy type deep colors.
I use a brush for foundation. However I have recently discovered that tattoo cover up works well for under eye coverage and since its so thick, I use a beauty blender sponge to blend. 🙂

hi! My favorite nail polish colors are greens and blues, but I usually wear them on my toenails! I’ve worn black nail polish at least 3 times in the past two years.
Foundation brush FTW!
I religiously use bareminerals original foundation. The mineral foundation brush from Sephora is by far the best brush I’ve used to apply it!

I love using the real techniques flat top buffing brush to apply my foundation. It gives a great finish!
Was so disappointed a few weeks ago. My absolutely favorite nude lippy was discontinued. It a brand here in Canada called Caryl Baker. The color was Angelica. So pretty. Why do they discontinue things 🙁

I always apply my foundation with a brush — it looks much better than when I used to use a disposable latex sponge. I have absolutely no problem sticking my fingers into products that come in a jar, but I just can’t put foundation on with my fingers. I can’t do it! I’ve recently been trying a BeautyBlender-type sponge, but I’m not really loving it. Perhaps I need to get my application technique down.

I love both dark and light polishes…but i do lean towards dark colors in general more. i prefer earth tone colors in both light and dark shade, but i know that even tho i like certain colors/shades, they don’t all look good with my skin tone.

I’ve had issues & reactions with my skin for years, but I’ve learned a lot, changed how I shop, & I am finally able to get obsessed with makeup. It’s an amazing way to feel girly & beautiful, & I luv it. 🙂
9 times out of 10 I use a brush to apply foundation. There are a select few that I feel apply better with warm hands, the real techniques expert face brush is my every day tool.
I like light and dark nail polish but tend to vary them with the seasons.
Hey everyone! I always like to switch it up so I enjoy both light and dark nail polish colors – sometimes I wear them at the same time depending on my mood. Hey…why choose is you don’t have too, right!? One of the reasons why I love that nail creativity/art is so “in” and “of the moment”…I love that it invites an anything goes/whatever strikes your mood attitude :). Nails should be fun!

I like dark nail polishes more for Fall & Winter, but I also wear light neutral nail colors during fall. During the spring & summer I like light & bright eye catching colors.

Riding a Segway is so fun! I like dark polishes but I wear light ones most of the time because my fingers are short and stubby.

Chopped my hair off 6 inches and dyed it red Saturday to get ready for fall. I love it! May never go back to long hair again. 🙂
Marshmallows are a must in hot chocolate! I like to put two of the regular sized ones in my cup. I also add in a scoop of Coffeemate to make the hot chocolate richer and creamier. Yum!
My favorite nude lip product is the Peach Maybelline Baby Lips. It doesn’t make my teeth all yellow looking nor does it wash me out.

I use powder foundation pretty much all the time. A while back, I bought the IT cosmetics version on QVC and it cam ewith a beautiful dense flat topped brushe for application. I love that brush! It doesn’t matter what foundation I’m wearing that day (Nyx, IT, Laura Gellar, Bobbi, etc), this brush makes applying and buffing easy. I need a backup!
I do not like marshmallows in my hot chocolate BUT, last night I did have 3 huge ones for dinner. 😉

Hi karen! Lately I’ve been using Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream and I apply it with my fingers. Or I use Lioele Beyond the solution BB crean and also apply with my fingers.

I like both, depends on my mood. I always hate when someone picks the same colors but different shades over and over again. My mother in law just picks a different shade of pink each time or just red. Live a little!

I don’t wear foundation. But if I win this gift card I’m going to go buy some. But when I wear BB cream I use my fingers. I find the heat from your fingers helps the make up absorb better.

I am so excited it is finally fall. I’ve been preparing since the beginning of August. So happy it is finally time to break out the boots, sweaters, and scarves, fall makeup, apple cider, fall scented candles from Bath and Body Works, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Ahhh! I’m currently burning Leaves from Bath and Body Works and wishing it was cold enough to light my fireplace and wear fuzzy socks.
It’s weird, I love light and dark polishes! I don’t care for much in between, except in the Summer 🙂

I always apply my Missha BB cream with my fingers…which may explain why I can never seem to complete a full face look in under an hour. 😛 Perfectionism is hard. Then again, one has to add in blending one’s eyeshadow just so, waiting for one’s foundation to set, and the incredibly difficult game of exactly how much contour is too much or too little. Ah well, maybe I’ll develop a five minute face someday…someday…
I usually use my fingers to apply foundation but I have been looking into a sponge. I think the Beauty Blender is too expensive so I bought Models Own, which looks very similar.
I usually just wear tinted moisturizer and use my fingers to apply. But on the rare occasion that I bust out “real” foundation, I use a sponge to apply. I can never get brushes to work right!

Today i went to the dentist with a full face of makeup on and when I came out I looked like i had wet my hands and then rubbed them all of my face :'(. Lesson learned. Next time I’ll make sure I take my makeup off before I go there…
i need a portable base to carry with me when i don’t have time to apply makeup before work – i’m going to give the mac bb cream compact a whirl!
