I’m still out here in Redding visiting my in-laws. Last night we had a nice dinner at Olive Garden (love their bread sticks and salad!) and then chatted at home. This morning El Hub is going fishing for a couple hours with his dad, and I’m going for a run around the little nature preserve next door before it gets too hot.
It gets HOT here. Up into the 100s, so if you’re gonna do any exercising outside, it’s best to do it before 9.
Other than that, I’m probably just going to chill at the house. Maybe also test some makeup. You know, unwind.
You have a great day, OK? I got a text from Tabs last night. He said that he and his petsitter did some shopping at Petco, and then had catnip cocktails while they marathon’d My Cat From Hell back at company headquarters/the house.

My hair is pretty long now – about halfway down my back. I cut it all off super short back in high school and *d’oh* instantly regretted it. It took years to get it long again!

It does sound like everyone is having a good time. I am sitting, wearing an oversized T shirt and active bottoms, with a Hazelnut skim milk Machiato from Starbucks working, of course. But my day is complete because my mother in law found me the very last Kelly Yum Yum lipstick and of course, it’s sold out everywhere and I really wanted it.
We are heading out for a morning hike!

My hair is just hitting my shoulders again. I got a bad haircut 5 weeks ago and am not letting anyone touch it for quite some time so I can grow out these bad layers and get it to something manageable again.
My hair is about three inches past my shoulders. It’s the longest it has been in about 10 years because I am growing it out to donate it!

My favorite TV show from the ’90s is definitely Charmed. I know it went on in the ’00s, but it definitely captured that late ’90s feel for me. Loved that show so much.

My hair is “in-between” — it touches my shoulders, but to me that’s neither long nor short. I’m hoping to grow it 2-3 inches longer, so that I can get it into a manageable pony tail for exercising.

Best makeup I’ve seen in a movie was Katniss’s look for the parade of tributes in Catching Fire. It was a beauuutiful smoldering smokey eye with crystals accenting. I was so in love!
Favourite 90s show was Party of Five. Just finished re-watching it on Netflix actually. Still as good today as it was then.
I haven’t been swimming in ages, but what I really have to tell you about is the guy handing out cheese samples at the grocery store that looked just like Ryan Gosling- actually I think he looked better(!)… I was like holy @#%$! lol what’s this guy doing working the cheese counter? And the gouda was very nice!

I think perhaps one of the best or most unique makeup looks in a movie that I’ve seen would have to be Anck-su-Namun’s bodypaint from the Mummy: intricate, well-executed, and even used as a plot point of sorts. One can only imagine how long it must have taken to create.
Wasn’t alive for the 80’s (born in 1990) but my favorite 90’s cartoon (and favorite cartoon of all time) is Rocket Power. I have no idea why, but to this day I love this show. I just noticed they started showing it on TeenNick the other night and I may or may not have bawled. Twister Rodriguez is THE SHIT.

I am always a sucker for makeover scenes/montages in movies. They’re just so fun and almost always come with catchy, upbeat and magical background music. The thing about makeup is that it allows you to play dress up as you get older. It’s transformative.

How embarrassing is it that I still have a bunk bed at home? When I’m away at college it’s a normal bed, and I stay over at my boyfriend’s when I’m home anyway so it hardly matters but it’s definitely not the most fun when I do have to use it.

Can we talk about the magnificence of the movie Maleficent? Makeup was only the first of the superlatives. Everything was artistic eye candy, every detail! Worst makeup in a movie- I will forever be traumatized by Princess Leia in the Return of the Jedi on the rope bridge. What should have been a beautiful love scene was ruined by gloppy gloss and clumpy mascara. the crazy hairdo was gorgeous, though.

Best makeup you’ve ever seen in a movie? I always love looking at the makeup jobs in film, but one that stands out to me was Ann Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada. DEM RED LIPS! Absolutely gorgeous. I remember trying to hunt it down (Dior), but the color had been discontinued. 🙁

I have not gone swimming yet this year! I didn’t go last year either. I’m too self-conscious of my body to do that, but I miss it on really hot days!

Unfortunately I have not been swimming yet, but I am definitely looking forward to it as we progress more into summer.
My bed frame is *slightly* too big for the box spring and mattress, and the two wooden “supports” holding it up don’t stay in place if you dare to roll over so the bed falls down through the frame. Got tired of the bed falling through in the middle of the night and scaring the bejeezus out of me, so I just left it that way. So my dog and I sleep on the right side of the bed, holding on for dear life, trying not to slide down the left side of the bed which has fallen through to the floor. Yep. Times are good.

My hair is never the same length tow years in a row. I wear it short but it grows too fast and I get tired of cutting it all the time so I let it grow out. It’s long for a while then I get tired of dealing with it and I cut it off. Lather, rinse, repeat.

My favorite TV show of the 90s was Rugrats, without a doubt. I’m pretty sure I owned all of the video cassette tapes at one point.

Long hair!
I am in desperate need of a haircut, it is currently around chin length (after having it super short) and I can’t decide whether to chop it all off again and go pixie or keep the length and just clean it up. Tough decision!

Old Italian films have some of he best makeup. Fellini’s Casanova comes to mind.
The Adventures of Pete & Pete! Best show ever.
Guillermo del Toro’s films have some the most amazing Sfx makeup I’ve seen on screen. He only uses CGI as a last resort and his team’s practical effects are amazing. Doug Jones also does a beautiful job bringing the makeup effects to life.
My hair is mid-length right now! It used to be almost to my waist, but it’s so difficult to take care of hair that long and thick!
My hair is about mid back and I have my housekeeping yoga pants on.
I haven’t been swimming this year jet but I’m looking forward to go to the sea at the end of the month!

I feel like my hair is so short! I’m going it out from a pixie cut, and it’s currently at my shoulders, but I want it to be so much longer. (However, my hair is so thick I get sick of it when it’s long. The struggle.)

Hope you’re having fun in the cultural center that is Redding! 😉 We’ve been swimming a lot this year with the crazy heat we had in May. Thankful for the community pool right outside my door!
I haven’t been to the pool this year and I’ll be happy if we don’t go at all, lol! I have a 2 YO and a 3 YO and pool time is anything but relaxing. Speaking of hair (lol)… my hair naturally curly so the pool requires a long shower and a 30 min blow dry when I get home. Super fun… NOT 🙂

Nope, no swimming yet this year…my hair is long and I mostly wear it down but lately I’ve been learning how to tie updos that look stylish :)Most recently, I remember loving the makeup in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and also enjoyed how they showed all the brands used in the credits 😀

I loved The Facts of Life!!! Especially the ones with Mrs. Garrett. I always thought I was most like Jo but I liked Blair Warners style. Ha ha!
It’s not really a movie, but Kacey Musgraves’ and Katy Perry’s makeup during the recent Crossroads show was on point, particularly Kacey’s. She was rocking purple eyeliner like nobody’s business.

My hair is really really long and I am thinking about cutting it in the Fall. For the summer, it is so easy to put in a bun or a ponytail on hot days. No layers blowing around.
