7 Ways to Win a $50 eGift Card From Sephora! (Ends Monday)

October 11th, 2014 by Karen 320 Comments

Win a $50 Sephora e-gift card

Only one long training run left before the half marathon next week! I think I finally got the chafing under control, thanks to the CW-X Running Bra and good old-fashioned Vaseline, and I’m going to try out the neat-looking Roo Sport Fitness Pouch, a small belt-less pouch with a magnetic fastener for carrying your cell phone, ID, credit card and, in my case, two Tri Berry GU Energy Gels, today on the treadmill.

But first! — Gilmore Girls and giveaways. 🙂

I am so hooked on that show it’s ridiculous. I don’t want to go anywhere or do anything else. I just want to sit on the couch watching Gilmore Girls and fantasize about living in the town of Stars Hollow. I could have breakfast and coffee at Luke’s Diner and then go shop for makeup at Stars Hollow Beauty Supply, LOL!

See, I told you. Ridiculous.

Well, that’s it for me. Good luck in this weekend’s giveaway, and hopefully I see you in the comments or on Twitter and Instagram today. Have a great caturday, my friend! Good luck!

Win a $50 gift card from Sephora

  • One (1) Sephora eGift card containing $50 sent to the winner by email (international readers, you may opt to receive $50 sent by PayPal instead).

  • Enter using the Rafflecopter widget below.
  • Open to U.S. and international readers.
  • You must be 18 or older to enter (or otherwise an adult based on your local laws).
  • Your comment can be about anything at all, but here are some ideas if you’re stuck:
    • What’s your favorite fictional town (town from a TV show, book or movie)?
    • Have you ever painted a room or a piece of furniture yourself?
    • Best indie or up-and-coming makeup brand?
    • Are you going to dress up this year for Halloween? Do you have your costume figured out?
    • Have you ever slept on a waterbed?
    • Honestly, have you ever pet a penguin (I’d be surprised if anyone says yes to this!)?
  • You can enter in up to seven ways to boost your chances of winning.
  • The giveaway ends on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11:59 PM (Pacific Time). 🙂
  • Full terms and conditions are available in the widget.

My fictional towns: The first one Halloween Town ( the nightmare before christmas , and Gotham city ( batman),

Yes I have painted a room myself I learned to do it myself so don’t need to ask for favors

    Best indie make up Detrivore.

I wont be dressing cause here op thee Island they don’t do parties and stuff But if I could It would be Harley Quinn(batman), or evil lady sexy clown, or poison Ivy (batman.

when I was studying in Europa I Have dressed as Ice queen, a bat, and also a black cat.

But to be honest I love this stuff If i had another kind of costumed party I would choose the same kind of stuff,

Wish someday I can when one those cards of sephora

I am sure you will do great doing the half marathon! My foot is still recovering (I feel like it’s getting worse actually) so no running for me and I really miss it…

I have a fall family party today, farm themed so I am just going to wear blue jeans, a flannel plaid shirt etc. (to answer your question about Halloween costume.

    Happy weekend!

Are you going to dress up this year for Halloween? Do you have your costume figured out? – I don’t wear costumes for Halloween but I love doing gory fx makeup. I haven’t nailed down exactly what I am doing yet. Maybe the Chelsea/Joker/Glasgow Smile.

I have painted every room in my entire house, including the ceilings!! I find it very therapeutic, once the taping and cutting in is done. When I do decide to paint I make sure my kids are either out or all set for a few hours. There’s nothing more aggravating than having to stop In the middle of painting to cater to someone!! When I finish ( I hate to clean up afterwards) I love to look at how different and nice the room looks once the paint dries. The best part is If you hate the way it looks there are so many different things you can do to fix it, after all it’s just paint!!

I’ve never slept on a waterbed, but I remember playing on one at a friends house as a little girl. We went to take naps (I think I was 4 or 5) and I couldn’t fall asleep as the bed kept moving. I ended up moving to the floor. Interesting idea, but I prefer my bed to be stationary.

Growing up I read Babysitter’s Club book and wished for a town like Stoneybrook, CT from the book. I remember in 4th grade choosing to do my state report Connecticut just so I could learn more about Stoneybrook and found that it did not exist. As for favorite fictional TV town, it would have to be Storybrooke, Maine, I mean who wouldn’t want to meet all the fairy tale characters!

I would like to give a shout-out for two overlooked eyeshadow palettes, the Santigolden Age palettes from Smashbox, Apocalypse Now and Earth As We Know It. I’m shocked that these are now on sale for half price at Sephora instead of being collector’s items going for twice their original price on EBay. They didn’t seem to get much attention in the blogoshpere beyond repeating the press release about them. The colors are beautiful and arranged in striking, original concepts. The quality of the shadows is intensely pigmented and creamy. The matte black and navy blue are super-intense, really high quality. The greens and silvers are beyond gorgeous. I’m pretty fair-skinned, but these seem like the rare kind of palette that would also work really well on deep complexions. The only flaw is some glitter fall-out from the more glittery shades. If you prefer some color over the current crop of mostly neutral holiday palettes, these are an alternative (or a complimentary addition) to UD’s Vice 3 and an absolute steal at $18 each.

My uncle had one in every bedroom of his house, so when we went to visit a few times a year that is what we slept on.

I’ve slept on a waterbed… And I didn’t make it through the night. I got seasick. I’m one of those people that moves around a lot in my sleep, so the constant jiggling and swooshing got to me and my famously easily-seasick stomach.

Waterbeds sounds so cool but they are the most uncomfortable thing that I have ever slept on. My back felt like it was going to break in half after taking a nap in one and I was a teenager at the time (definitely too young to be complaining about back pains). 🙁

I’ve painted lots of furniture and rooms by myself. My hubs believes that speed is more important than neatness when it comes to painting. Drives me nuts, so I’d rather do it with no help. When we were moving out of an apartment in Honolulu we had to paint it so we could get our deposit refunded. He did the whole place in about 45 minutes….

I’m from the country – my dad would be disappointed if I couldn’t do some stuff myself. I’ve also slept on a waterbed. I don’t think i would want one now though – but maybe the technology is better. I think my favorite fictional town is Cedar Cove. I haven’t ever painted a room by myself, but I have taken a piece of antique painted furniture and stripped it down to bare wood, then varnished it to bring out the natural wood. It looked much better natural than painted. No, not dressing up for Halloween, although I have a favorite orange tee shirt that I wear when I answer the door for trick or treaters. I have slept on a waterbed before, but I think it takes some getting used to. Sleeping on my sister’ waterbed just one night was not too comfortable.

Have you ever painted a room or a piece of furniture yourself? Yes! We painted our spare room and doors when we bought our condo and we used to help my dad paint things around the house growing up.

Are you going to dress up this year for Halloween? Do you have your costume figured out? I hopefully will be off from work so I can dress up and go out! I don’t have my costume 100% set but I have some ideas.

The first thing Gary and I did when we bought our house was start repainting room by room. We were stone broke, so we did it ourselves. It isn’t hard, just time consuming if you do it right, and color on the walls makes SUCH a difference!

What’s your favorite fictional town (town from a TV show, book or movie)? Stars Hollow. No drama! Or at least… serious drama or explosions.
Have you ever painted a room or a piece of furniture yourself? I have!
Are you going to dress up this year for Halloween? Do you have your costume figured out? Shadowhunter, most of the pieces are purchased.
Have you ever slept on a waterbed? Yes, my mom used to have one. It leaked.

Hogsmeade comes to mind… I think I would really like to live in the TARDIS, which isn’t technically a town, but is bigger than one!

Have you ever painted a room or a piece of furniture yourself?
I’ve helped paint my house, but I certainly didn’t do it alone!

Best indie or up-and-coming makeup brand?
    Fyrinnae, Geek Chic Cosmetics

Are you going to dress up this year for Halloween? Do you have your costume figured out?
I am going to be the Eleventh Doctor! I have been scouring thrift shops looking for the right pieces. Now all I’m missing is a skirt and a button up shirt! I’ve got my bow tie, sonic screwdriver, jacket, boots, and tights all set up 🙂

Have you ever slept on a waterbed?

Boy, it sure is hot today in San Jose! Can’t believe it’s supposed to be 10-15° cooler the rest of the week.

I’ve always painted my homes myself. My hubby and I enjoy doing our own decorating, it gives us much satifaction in knowing we did all this beautiful work ourselves, not to mention we save a small fortune doing it ourselves!

I slept on a waterbed for 5 years. It took some getting use to, but it wasn’t too bad.

I have painted furniture and a room/house before!

We bought a cheap coffee table and dresser from the thrift store and sanded it and painted it. They look great, are sturdy and way cheaper than buying new!

Hi Karen !! My favorite fictional town is Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls. I love this show and so did my mom. I just love all the characters that are part of this show/town.

I am not going to dress up this year,I love sleeping on a waterbed but it wouldn’t be good with my fur-babies.I have painted a room myself-a purple one.I think a penguin might be nice to pet, maybe I should visit the zoo and ask.My favorite fictional town would be wherever Odd Thomas happened to be a that moment.Anyone else in the middle of a storm right now?

I have slept on a water bed. It was quite comfortable until I woke up in the middle of the night soaking wet! The slow leak turned into a big mess.

What’s your favorite fictional town (town from a TV show, book or movie)? Walnut Grove from Little House on the Prairie.

Have you ever painted a room or a piece of furniture yourself? Yes, if doing a couple feet and then sneaking out of the room and letting my husband finish counts.

Honestly, have you ever pet a penguin (I’d be surprised if anyone says yes to this!)? Not really, but my sister’s ex-boyfriend used to call her “Penguin” because of her black and white waitress uniform. She still calls herself a penguin sometimes even though she’s married with two kids. She also wants a penguin tattoo sometimes. No, that is for real and not just in my nightmares.

Well this is not a fictional town but my favorite place I’ve never been to and read about in a book is Prince Edward Island in the Anne of Green Gables books. I want to go so bad! Also I want to get into more indy brands since I am vegan and the only brand that I know of that I an buy with no hesitation is OCC.

I have slept on a waterbed!! And when you lose electricity during a blizzard, I can promise you that they’re not very comfortable when they’re not heated!
