A Makeup and Beauty Blog giveaway
Tabs the Cat Presents a Makeup and Beauty Blog Giveaway

Rise and shine, morning glory! It’s going to be a beautiful day. I can feel it in my bones…

I hope you did something fun last night. After finishing the NARS Promiscuous Lip Pencil post, I just made a quick fish dinner (pretty much just steamed tilapia filets and served on white rice with a little soy sauce, green onions and ginger), and then proceeded to watch Parenthood on Netflix from about 8 p.m. to 11.

It was glorious!

I love that show…

But enough about that. We’ve got a giveaway to start, so let’s get to it. Full deets in the Rafflecopter widget below, and the prize is a $50 Sephora gift card.

Maybe we’ll bump into each other on Twitter or Facebook today and can chat about how much we love Adam Braverman. 🙂

Win a $50 gift card from Sephora

  • One (1) Sephora eGift card containing $50 sent to the winner by email (international readers, you may opt to receive $50 sent by PayPal instead).

  • Enter using the Rafflecopter widget below.
  • Open to U.S. and international readers.
  • You must be 18 or older to enter (or otherwise an adult based on your local laws).
  • Your comment can be about anything at all, but here are some ideas if you’re stuck:
    • Best Halloween costume you’ve ever seen?
    • How are you about doing smokey eyes? What’s the hardest thing about them for you?
    • Do you ever use hot rollers in your hair?
    • What’s your favorite musical?
    • Do you ever put yourself on nail polish/makeup bans?
    • Do you have naturally rosy cheeks?
    • Are there any brands you wish they carried in your country?
  • You can enter in up to seven ways to boost your chances of winning.
  • The giveaway ends on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 11:59 PM (Pacific Time).
  • Full terms and conditions are available in the widget.

I am continuously amazed at the adorable things you can get Tabs to wear/pose in! My cat is generous with the snuggles, but if I tried to put a costume on him, he’d bite my arm off. Rando insists of wrestling/chewing on his brush before I can groom him. 🙂

I have tried both jumbo hot rollers (the clip didn’t hold the hair) and jumbo curling tongs (curl didn’t take, barrel may have been too big) to get wonderful waves and curls in my stick straight fine scandinavian hair. I then proceeded to buy jumbo perm rollers online from half across the globe and attempted to perm my hair ( the rollers were to large for the curl to take). Sigh !! Would love some 30s sexy oomph waves.. 😉 .. love the blog.. From Karen, another homeless kitty-savior in Scandinavia

Hello, Karen & Tabs! So, Sephora had a little promo thingee, and I finally used the 10% off that I scored! I had the Hourglass ambient powder trio in my basket, but I was reading the reviews, and I didn’t want to end up going to the store to return it. 🙁 I’m pretty happy with my Dim powder, for now. The total would have been (way) more ridiculous if I had that in the order.

I ended up buying Bobbi Brown foundation stick (finally!), a Hello Kitty eye brush set, and the Hello Kitty brush set, with case, for my niece. (early Christmas shopping!)

Hope ya’ll are having a lovely weekend so far! just chillin over here. laundry, chores, etc….

I see something I want and I’m like ‘oh I will buy that for myself for Christmas” lol. So now that I have gotten so much stuff I have to stop. So the Sephora gift card would be awesome because there is still a lot that I want! I also justify buying a lot of stuff because I can give it away on my blog/facebook.

I have a terrible time trying to do a smokey eye. my eye’s aren’t wide so it’s hard to do a gradient effect. and my lids are deep set, so the shadows just end up smudging. If i add shadow pass my crease it over powers my eye because it seems like i have shadow going up to my brows! I just keep it simple by wearing eye liner instead.

The hardest part of the smokey eye for me is doing those outer corners with the dark color. The shadow always spreads too far and then I have to use a makeup remover towelette to touch it up. I can never get it just right.

The best version of “All Along the Watchtower” I’ve ever heard is not Jimi’s cover. Noooo, it’s Bear McCreary’s, from Battlestar Galactica. Freaking AMAZING. And I love Jimi Hendrix. That man could shred like nobody’s business.

Likewise, I can see how the rest of the world wants our products. Can all the companies and distributors just hold hands and start a revolution?!

I have put myself on nail polish/makeup bans in the past but they don’t seem to last long if I come across something I love and it happens to be either limited edition or on sale…I’m a sucker for a good sale. I’ve had my eye on something at Sephora for a while and go figure…its just about $50 so if I’m lucky enough to win I’d most likely spend it on Urban Decay’s Ocho Loco 2 then put myself on a makeup ban for a while. between the UD holiday launch/20% off sale and MAC Riri collection launching in the last month, I think I bought more than I really needed. I did get some nice Christmas presents for the ladies in the family, though, so I guess it wasn’t so bad in that respect 🙂

-Smokey eyes for me have always been doable, but a challenge. The hard parts are: 1) getting that gradient that looks so good from the highlight of the browbone down to the smudged eyeliner, and 2) my crease. I feel like whenever I try to sweep a nice dark color into my crease (using a windshield wiper motion), it ends up patchy/unevenly deposited, which makes me wonder if I’m using too much shadow or not enough. Or maybe just not a good brush! Guess I need some more practice. I tend to usually just go for the crispness and simplicity of a winged-out cat eye 🙂
-My favorite musical (although this is a TOUGH choice!! and I did not count Disney musicals because that would have made it even harder!) is The Sound of Music. You laugh, you cry, you sing, you dance, you wear clothes made out of curtains, it’s awesome.
-I frequently have to ban myself from nail polish and makeup. It’s easy for me to “justify” buying makeup when I’ve got coupons or remind myself I don’t already have THAT color, or I’ve run out of mascara already, etc etc 🙂
-I wish they carried Sleek in America! I mean, you can get it via Amazon and order some things from their site, but it’s not in stores or anything.

I LOVE Spamalot but I really like all musicals (except Phantom of the Opera – heresy I know)and there is a soft spot for Flower Drum song – My Mom had the album and I knew it by heart when I was a kid. My favorites are movie Musicals though (Singing in the Rain, Daddy Longlegs, Funny face etc)

I wanted to purchase the Guerlain Crazy limited edition compact. After a long scary drive I made it to my destination only to discover that my must have product was sold out.
