How’s it going this morning? Tabs, El Hub and I are chugging along, purr usual, although there are some nasty wildfires out here in Northern California. There’s smoke all across the horizon. The closest one of the big fires is less than an hour away near Lake Berryessa, and that one has us a little nervous.
Did you do anything fun last night? We went to see that movie, the new Mission Impossible, and uh…Tom Cruise does not look his age. I don’t know if it’s all movie magic or just clean livin’, but yeah, I’ll have what he’s having, LOL!
Good movie though. Lots of action and car chases and stuff, of course. Exactly what you expect in a Mission Impossible.
After that we just came home, and I sort of passed out. I think it was only about 9:30 (!). I don’t know why, but I’ve been more tired than usual lately… I must be taking lessons from Tabs.

I am in a sleepy mood, I saw late at night that our Ro wasn’t in his branch, he was standing at a corner where a small tree is and he looked confused and nervous. I have to say I was as concerned as he was, but finally when I heard him singing at 4.30 I was able to sleep. I knew he passed the night safely. Now I have to find out why he didn’t fly to his usual tree branch which is high enough for him to be safe from predators.
My favorite new accessory is my pink face boyfriend Coach watch that my Boo just got me for my birthday!

I slept walked from age 5 to 20. My parents had to put “obstacles” in front of doors and I still managed to get out and be a few blocks down when they found me. The worst was in Colorado for a ski trip and I got out of the cabin into waist high snow!!! I guess I outgrew it 🙂

I used to sleepwalk as a child. I would wake up lying on the floor and the at the bottom of the bunk beds (I slept on top). I guess I would climb down the latter and go back to sleep on the floor.
I didn’t use to have dry patches, but moving somewhere drier means that my skin needs more TLC than I’m used to. Oh well.
Hi Karen! I don’t know if MAC has done this one yet, but I think a warrior princess collection would be kind of awesome. The collection would include some dark smoky cat eyes, combined with dark, bold lips and waterproof (and sweat proof) mascaras and eyeliners as dark as the night sky. Actually, I think everything should be sweat-proof, like a new line of foundation, concealer, maybe a super duty setting spray or something like Urban Decay’s De-Slick. Ronda Rousey would be the face of the collection (I <3 her, she's gorgeous and she would be perfect as the poster-child of warrior princess chic). Oh and I would buy the entire collection and wear it 24/7, rain or shine. It would be my go-to church look. Haha jk! But I WOULD wear this collection to the Spartan Race that's coming up in two weeks.
I think a good idea for a MAC collection would be a fan favorites list where we can vote on discontinued or LE colors to bring back a second time around. But of course, only in my dreams would this happen haha!

My nieces are gymnasts, so they always have their birthday parties at their gym. The running tramp is my fave – especially jumping into a pit of big foam blocks at the end of it!

My ex slept walked when I was 9 months pregnant and we had family staying so we gave up ou bed to the visitors and I slept in the spare room and he slept on the couch I was sound asleep and one of the visitors woke me up to tell me my ex had climbed into bed with them and curled and they couldnt wake him up So I went and tried to wake him up and couldnt so I talked to him and we hauled him out and tucked him back up in the spare room and I slept on the couch He woke up and had no idea what had happened and thought we were kidding lol
Our school gym had a large trampoline for us gymnasts and it used to be a lot of fun jumping and somersaulting on it!
I’m trying to teach myself how to beatbox via YouTube videos. Trying to learn the kick drum kind of hurts the inside of my cheeks and I keep getting spit all over my computer screen. Lol! o_O

My fav thing right now are my Katie Perry earrings – you know the ones that you have – the climbing vines!!! I just love them. They are so beautiful. I got them because they were so beautiful on you. I love wearing them, even if I don’t wear them that often – because they’re kind of dressy. They’re kind of difficult to get on…. wouldn’t you say? I’m always afraid I’ll loose a part of them! Did I tell you I got them 25% off? I did!! Lucky me!!!

Ugh, I have this dry patch on my face that I call The Triangle of Dryness. It’s a nice little triangle that goes between my eyebrows and down the bridge of my nose. I am constantly flakey there, though my skin is terrifyingly oily everywhere else! I have to exfoliate that area every couple of days and the only way to keep it from flaking immediately afterwards is to apply an oil (I’m currently using Tarte’s Maracuja oil), which of course then makes my makeup slide off my skin right there! It’s a never ending battle and I’m actually thankful for my glasses these days because it covers that area up a bit!
I’ve actually never been a big jewelry or accessories person until recently! My favorite accessories right now are a pair of diamond stud earrings that were a present from my parents, and this set of blue beaded bracelets. Each bracelet has a different charm, which I adore!
Love a good homemade beef stew with fresh baked bread. Yum!

My godmother’s son was a sleepwalker, one epic sleepwalking adventure he left his parents’ house and used a hidden spare key to get into the neighbors house and then laid down on their couch. In the morning everyone was surprised!

I don’t sleep walk, thank goodness. I did once when I was a teenager. I couldn’t find my pillow when I woke up then I strangely later found it in the garage. I am very talkative in my sleep though. I know a handful of words in Chinese and I know some Spanish. According to my boyfriend, I speak these other languages a lot in my sleep.

Yes, unfortunately I get dry patches from time to time. I have sensitive oily combination skin. when my skin is changing I like to try natural remedies. I really like to make an oatmeal mask. The oatmeal is good for my skin and it exfoliates.

Scarves are my favorite accessory, but the days are reaching 90 degrees this time of year. So I wear bolder earrings in the summer to avoid the extra fabric.
I would love if MAC did a Hunger Games/ Mockingjay 2 collection. Image plays a big part of the films and books(ie. anyone from the Capitol, Katniss), so a makeup collection from a brand like MAC would be phenomenal. Also, a Star Trek collection would be cool, next year is the 50th anniversary and there is a new movie coming out to coincide with that.
Have been trying make up (usually pretty minimalistic when it comes to makeup) 🙂 But haven’t really delved into MAC cosmetics (more of a Shiseido and Tarte girl b/c of sensitive skin. How’s MAC for sensitive and Asian skin ?

My daughter sleeps walks all the time. It’s a little unnerving when I wake up to find her just standing in our bedroom in the middle of the night.
I get excemza a few places. Mostly, I get it on my hands. I’ve actually had to start taking off my wedding rings when I’m at home because they exacerbate the irritation on my fingers on that hand. In the winter, my thumbs usually start to get extra dry and irritated. If I’m not careful, I’ll also sometimes get a dry patch just above the inner corner of my eye.

I’ve noticed that sometimes mascara minis perform better than full size mascaras. It’s like the formula is different.

If MAC just keeps making Disney-inspired collections (ideally in large enough quantities to stay in stock for more than 1.5 hours) I will be a happy camper! 🙂 A Frozen-inspired collection, for instance, would be unbelievable.
I’ve been hanging out at home this weekend, just doing chores and whatnot. I ordered a new coffeemaker on Amazon today (yay!) because my Mr. Coffee Keurig that was super cute with a multicolored chevron print is broken and I can’t figure out what is wrong with it (boo!). I wish there was a way to take it apart because I think there is just a blockage in the line somewhere.

Check Youtube for tutorials on how to fix a clogged Keurig. I have a Vue and mine got clogged because I’m using an adaptor that lets me use regular Kcups. It’s pretty easy to clear the coffee grounds. I love my Keurig, but I wish Keurig would make more Vue pods.
I did! Nothing has worked or my machine is just slightly different than the fix-it tutorials, so it isn’t applicable. I spent almost three hours trying to run distilled white vinegar and letting it sit in there and it just isn’t working and I can’t get a screwdriver in to take it apart without breaking the plastic. Thanks for your suggestions though. Anyway, I found a well-rated one cup drip brewer that comes with a travel mug for $15 on Amazon!

Not very original, but I’d love to see a cat themed MAC collection. I’ve also been wishing someone would come out with a couple of eyeshadow palettes for us pale gals. Most of us can’t wear really dark shadows, so about half of the shadows in a palette go to waste. They’re great for eyeliner, but you only need so many of those. Actually, what would be nice is if someone came out with palettes for light skinned, medium and dark skinned gals. They do it with foundation, why can’t they do it with eyeshadow??
A new idea for MAC could be as follows: you enter your skin, hair, eye color, etc., skin type, color palette preferences, and MAC suggests products you may want to purchase. Not revolutionary, but with all the products MAC has, I wouldn’t mind some help in choosing!
I’d love to see a more nerdy themed MAC collection…something a bit more science fiction or fantasy related.
Right now, my favorite accessory is my gold snake arm cuff. Even though I find snakes absolutely repulsive, I bought it anyway, because I really liked the way it looked.

Do you know anyone who sleepwalks? My stepmom. It’s a symptom of her Alzheimer’s.
Do you have any chronically dry patches on your skin? Elbows, though they’re not horribly bad. Too much sitting in office chairs.
Stew, ceviche or jambalaya? Ceviche. Give me all the seafoods!
Have you ever jumped on a giant trampoline? Not that I can recall, but I took gymnastics as a kid, so probably.
What are your current favorite accessories? I have a Pandora cherry blossom ring that I love, though I don’t wear it nearly enough. And I recently got a layered necklace with peach stones in it that I haven’t had a change to wear and I’m dying to. It’s so pretty.
What’s a good idea for a new MAC collection? I think they should do one based on the ocean. Pretty blues and greens and beachy golds, with splashes of tropical fishies. It would be great for conservation efforts too– sea turtles and plastic waste (microbeads!) and oil fracking. I love the ocean.

Yes! I was a sleepwalker when I was a child. How my parents found out, their 4 year old rang the doorbell at 3 in the morning. We lived in florida by the cape as my dad helped build the rocket that sent the man to the moon. We lived on a golf course with lakes full of gators! Scarey for them.

Ok here’s my problem. Do great winged eyeliner, wait to curl my lashes, when I finally do curl my lashes my eyeliner comes off on my eyelash curler!! I have not found one liner that will not come off! Help!!

My current favorite accessory is a printed, tasseled scarf that I got on clearance. I’m not sure if I love it as much as I do because it’s cute, or because it was such a good deal. I do love me a bargain. But I also love tassels, so probably both.

I have to preface this w a HUGE laugh. I sleeptalk! My family laugh at me all the time, because they tell me I talk nonstop 24-7. The funniest thing about this? I wake myself up at times, HEARING myself talking! So SO weird. hahahaha
I have a shellfish allergy so no ceviche or jambalaya unless I make it myself—- but I do love the comfort food aspect of stew –especially how the whole house smells so yummy

What are your current favorite accessories?
I got a secondhand pair of Oakley forehand sunglasses on eBay for a great price due to the most minute scratch. Everyone was bidding on the new ones and I swooped in on this pair and grabbed them for $50 less than the cheapest auction for the new pairs of the same color/style. No one has even noticed the small scratch and it has no impact on my vision so I love them. They’re a (transparent?) electric lemon-lime color they stopped making a few years ago. They’re the best quality sunglasses I’ve ever owned. I’ve since snagged a few more Oakleys at a fraction of retail between eBay and retailers that had some super cute discontinued styles on clearance. 🙂

My best friend got a trampoline for Christmas when we were 7, I was so jelly! It was so cool, it was ginormous and had that protective net thing, which didn’t do anything. We were jumping and she flew off, tore through the net, and nearly broke her arm. I can honestly say after that happened, I wasn’t so jelly.
My current favorite accessory is my SF Giants cap. With the great weather in SF this past week, I’ve been rockin’ the baseball cap the adjustable kind because my head is sorta big haha). Keeps my face protected from the sun and shows love to the best baseball team, ever! (=
My feet are perpetually dry. I can’t sleep without moisturizing them, top and bottom. 🙁

Hey Karen 🙂 My boyfrient is a sleepwalk,it happens not everyday but 2-3 per month but once we went from a party, we were going to sleep. It was 2 a.m. and he stand up,I though he’s going to the toilet. Ok no problem. But heard him to open the door from our…what the hell he’s doing..ok before party we were driving a car maybe he forgot his phone in it (sometimes he do).after a few minutes he still wasn’t back. But door was open.hmm so I stand up and go to the floor and now I see him coming upstairs,NAKED! because he was sleeping so 😀 I asked him what to hell is he doing, no reaction,than he said he was on the toilet. Downstairs in a garage,naked at 2am,lucky man that he didnt’t meet some neighbour from our house 😀 so that’s my crazy man

Might be interesting to see city/country specific collections from MAC i.e. Bombay collection Tokyo collection, New York…Paris etc. Women’s preferences for colours and make up items differ country to country. The light is also different for example Bombay’s daylight is hard-tropical as opposed to the more diffused light in London, so colours look different. Textures should also be appropriate for those climates. Im sure these collections could be perennial!

There’s a place called Rebounderz in my area. It’s basically a room filled with interconnected trampolines you can bounce around on. To the wall, back to the ground, wherever! It can be dangerous, but nonetheless it’s an excellent workout 🙂

I am loving pull through earrings at the moment. They are so delicate but pretty, full on dangling earrings without the weight and subtle enough to wear to work. Love love love.
I went to a lovely wedding once set in the grounds of a stately home. The alcohol flowed freely and it was so beautiful walking around a formal garden on a balmy summer’s evening, dressed to the nines. And then I found the trampoline. I think it was put here to entertain the younger guests earlier in the day but they had gone home by now. I had it all to myself…..oh how I jumped and bounced and soared to the heavens…and then landed awkwardly twisting my knee. The anaesthetic effects of the booze got me through the rest of the evening although dancing was off the cards. The next morning was a different matter…I couldn’t walk and ended up in ED (ER across the pond.) I had to have surgery to repair a background cartilage and my knee has never been the same. Oh well, I have another knee!
Stew, ceviche or jambalaya? I think I am fairly worldly when it comes to food but now I think not…I have never had ceviche or jambalaya *looks a bit embarrassed* In my defence you just don’t get such exotic cuisine in my neck of the woods in deepest darkest Devon. Stew is a staple that sees me through the winter, the ultimate comfort food!
Lastly, a new collection for MAC. I would love to see a pet lovers theme. Sort of “People that look like their pets” type idea..beautiful red setter eyeshadow, doe eyed black labrador eyeshadow stick, everything one could possibly need for the ultimate feline eyes. I’m thinking snake, skin lips…maybe too much! I’m sure a lot would agree that our pets are the most beautiful people we know…let’s rock that look!

I think mac should do a century collection where they release mini collections each month or so based on different decades, from the Victorian era to now. Wouldn’t the twenties be cool? And the forties and sixties? It would be even more awesome if they had really neat limited edition packaging to match each time period.

Do you have any chronically dry patches on your skin? Not as much as I used to. I had a condition called tinea versicolor that caused patches on my stomach, arms, and face, but it has gotten better as I have gotten older and seems to be gone for the most part now!

Chronic dry patches are the worst! especially when they come in the form of eczema I have it around my nostrils and in the corners of my eye it so annoying because it can become agitated easily and of course makeup just clings to dry skin and because of where it is its not something I can easily exfoliate. I’m working on keeping it cleared up but the summer is the worst the heat and humidity cause flare ups a lot.
I think that a really great collaboration with MAC could be a Marvel collection. Not sure the overall appeal of it but I know I for one would buy an entire collection if its based around something like Marvel Comics, I think they tend not to do things that are too ‘male oriented’ like that but I know a lot of women who love comics and would be so excited by something like this I mean the possibilities would be endless you could have entire looks based around the major characters like the Black Widow look and Iron Man, I’d love to see the Hawkeye one though a great selection of purples I’d love it! It needs to happen!

I do have chronically dry patches, psoriasis! It never goes away so sometimes I feel really down about my skin, but using lotion and soap without chemicals or perfume seems to help.

I used to sleep walk ALOT when I was younger, sometimes I’d be in a sort of semi-awake state where I’d try to talk to people but couldn’t quite make my mouth move the way I wanted it to to form the words. I had many unresolved depression/anxiety issues, so I think this was my body’s way of dealing.
I’m the biggest sleep talker! Everyone says I have multiple conversations with myself during the night.
I’m listening to an amazing book! It’s a sci-fi romance called Fortune’s Pawn.
My elbows tend to be perpetually dry.

My son sleepwalks and has night terrors but only when he is very sick. It can be a bit scary.
I used to sleepwalk as a child and still do every now and then.
I have psoriasis, so I have several chronic dry patches, but I use a variety of products on them. Thankfully, it has never affected my face or any really obvious part of my body, so I can manage it. 🙂

I actually went to a trampoline park and learned how to do a front flip. I tried to learn how to do a backflip, but I freaked out like a cat in water. Someday I will backflip like a circus acrobat.

I spent some time browsing the travel section on Sephora today — need to stock up on some products for two upcoming destination weddings, and I figure it’s a great excuse to try some new things! I’m eying some skin care products, especially because as I’m getting a bit older my skin is temperamental. Skin problems = ick, trying new products = fun!
I’ve been loving using the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening powder to bake underneath my eyes. It brightens wonderfully!
hi Karen!! Would you believe that I have not seen any of the mission impossible movies?! I used to watch the show with my dad but that’s it. I’m really excited to see Fantastic Four this weekend, I love me some super hero movies!!

My niece sleep walks, but only a very very little bit. she’s growing out of it thank goodness. My sisters and I never sleep walked as children, but we often slept with our eyes open. I hope my children don’t inherit any creepy sleeping habits lol.
I don’t have any chronically dry skin patches, but my boyfriend suffers from moderate psoriasis on his arms, legs and inside his ears.

I’ve never jumped on a trampoline and I think I’d be too nervous to jump very high if I did.
I have a dainty little necklace that the boyfriend bought me that I love to wear, though I don’t get to wear it often. It’s a great accessory.
The mac line…well I’ve got no great ideas there off the top of my head, but i am very rarely disappointed by them!

My favorite accessory right now is my Madewell Monogram Clutch purse. Great size for carrying cards, cash and my phone. Love the monogram as it adds a nice personal touch. Also loving the Tony Moly Honey lip balm. It comes in a super cute container shaped like lips! 🙂

The Mac store in my mall just reopened after renovations and it’s taken a lot of willpower to not just march in there and overspend my budget for the month in the first week.

Yes, I have jump on many giant trampolines. My girls are on a gymnastic team, so we frequently visit our local trampoline parks.
Have you ever jumped on a giant trampoline? As fun as they are, I hate the static shock when you touch someone or the metal around the trampoline.

My favorite accessories right now are actually some I don’t have but am lusting over! A lady at my work has a midi ring she wears on her right hand and I love it – I want yo get my own! Plus, I am in love with those metallic temporary tattoos but I can’t find a ser that I would use all of them so I haven’t bought any yet… We’ll see!

What’s a good idea for a new MAC collection? well just getting back in the dating game and Im 50 would love to see help and a collection for someone that has not worn makeup in a long time but still would love to look nice but forgot how to so would be great to see just a small starter collection for the older groups that follow you
