How’s it going this morning? OK, movie share time… I saw a pretty good one on iTunes last night called Z for Zachariah. It’s a post-apocalyptic thriller set after a nuclear war. A young woman (Margot Robbie) survives alone with her dog on her family’s farm in a secluded, idyllic mountain valley that was spared the fate the befell the area around it, which is now a radioactive wasteland. One day another survivor (Chiwetel Ejiofor) — the only other survivor the woman has seen in a year — happens upon the valley, and she’s overjoyed to finally have human companionship again. They start to build a life together.
Then another dude shows up (Chris Pine, aka Captain Kirk), and BOOM! — love triangle, and all hell breaks loose, haha!
It’s good though. Good science fiction.
In other news, I’m heading out to my parents’ house in a little while for a visit. I hope you’re doing something fun this weekend.

Something that made me very happy this week: I had the chance to see keynote speaker Wab Kinew yesterday (thanks to my mom!) & had the best morning of reaffirmation & hope. ‘Education is the velocity that propels people out of oppression’ – it fills me with determination to do my best pursuing a master’s degree that starts on Tuesday! When I was going to university for the first time ten years ago, my dad (who passed away a few years ago) said ‘they can never take your education away from you’ but part of reconciliation is forgiveness, and seeing how everyone benefits from indigenous aboriginal education.
Getting a facial earlier this week made me very happy. And very relaxed. 🙂
Finishing up my first proper internship, and I’m well pumped to be getting back into the swing of things at university! Excitedly looking forwards to my second year of studying an amazing subject

The most awesome thing happened on Monday. My sweet 11month old baby boy Damien said “DaDa” then held his arms up to daddy to be picked up he did this when his daddy just walked in the door after work. I’m in love with my sweet boy he’s always smiling and chasing me around the apartment. He is always making me super happy!

But I’m a teacher and this was my first week back and I had two hours of sleep the night before last and I just couldn’t keep my eyes open. My husband was so bummed. I will have to finish watching it another time!

I just put a birdbath up in front of my window and it is the best thing ever! The little birds are super cute when they flutter their wings to splash the water over themselves and my two cats are absolutely enthralled! P.S. Tabs told me he would like one for his yard. 😉
I, myself, have never worn a gi, but my son was in karate for almost 10 years and wore one several days a week.
We went to the mall spur of the moment this morning because the munchkin was climbing all over the cat tree, and quite happily for once I guessed right and he had a ball in the play area and did tons of climbing and running around with the older boys that were there. And, of course, I had ulterior motives and got two samples of foundation from Sephora. Also snagged an OCC Skin Tint in Y0 on clearance at Sephora inside JCP. Why they have both in that mall I’ll never understand but I’m not complaining!
My brand new Vera Bradley leather tote came in yesterday. That made me really happy 🙂

Brand new stationery made me so happy this week! I don’t know what it is about it but I’ve always loved pens and pretty papers. Especially Korean/Japanese stationery. I miss being able to pop into one of those stationery stores and spend way too much time looking at and swooning over all the pens, paper, and stickers with all these cute little characters. You know what, I’m going to google it and maybe indulge in some nostalgia!

A couple of things that made me happy this week…I got a raise at work, and I got an order of ColourPop eyeshadows in the mail! I ordered a truckload of neutral/shimmery lid shades and I’m stoked to try them out!!! And if I could shapeshift into 3 things, I’d choose: a burly dude (so I could walk around the city at night without the worry of getting jumped), a bird (so I could skip traffic and fly wherever I needed to go), and a Pegasus (because why not?!).
Something that made me happy this week was being on staycation! No work for eight days straight!!

Something that made me happy? It was my birthday this week and my brother gave me an Apple gift card for a new phone. It’s high time to dump my iPhone 5, going to wait for the new ones to come out. I’m also waiting for a certain pair of FitFlop shoes to go on sale on their website (I’ve had multiple injuries in my left foot, plus I have flat feet and those are really the only brand shoes I want to wear). Amazing how all of the weird colors that would sit in my closet unworn are 50% off but the black ones are still full price, ugh.
There is an indie perfume and bath product shop that I buy from online (Haus of Gloi) and they are releasing their fall scents tomorrow afternoon and I’m so excited! I know what I’m going to get, but I have to act fast because they have a huge following and stuff sells out quick.

Speaking of movies, I saw Sinister 2 this week and I don’t think I want to see horror movies anymore. I love being scared and things that make you scream at the movies, but I hate grotesque torture scenes. I like the old scary movies like Psycho and I love the concept of creepy movies, but when I see people just being brutally treated and it’s like they want to see how shocking they can be, I am really turned off.

I’m happy for my family and their health. My boyfriend just got into his second car accident this month. Thank goodness the person was able to stop a little before hitting his car. The other driver was texting and driving:( just a reminder for me to stop doing that completely. Sometimes I will look at my phone at the stoplight with my son in the car and my son always reminds me not to!! I’m going to start leaving my phone in the back seat in my purse!

Not a bad weekend although mother nature has me down like a wounded soldier so I’m not really doing too much. Had a really good phone call though which seemed to add an extra inch to my already smiling face.

I will never forget my trip to Thailand. The beauty, both natural and man-made, is breathtaking. The people are friendly and humble. They are truly proud of their monarchy and take pride in speaking of their king. What I found heartbreaking however was the extreme poverty in which much of the population lives. I hope to return one day but until then I have wonderful memories.

Three of the prettiest places I’ve ever been:
1.) New York City. It’s so busy and full of life, I just love it there! From Broadway to Central Park to Wall Street to Little Italy, there is just SO much going on. Everytime I visit, I stop at either the Met, MoMA, or Guggenheim, and grab a burger, fries, and a shake from Shake Shack. It’s like the East Coast version of In-N-Out, but SOOOOO much better. Seriously though, NYC is such an urban beauty.
2.) Queen Creek, Arizona. While I absolutely hate the heat, Arizona is just gorgeous once the sun starts to go down. The sky looks like a painting, and you can see so many stars. That definitely doesn’t happen in SoCal!
3.) Catalina. It’s been a few years since I’ve been, but it’s definitely one of the prettiest places I’ve ever seen. The waters are crystal clear, you can see the bright orange garibaldis swimming below the surface. Whales can be seen off the coast, and occasionally a shark or two. Just lovely!
Can’t wait for holiday sets!
TWO things made me really happy this week: #1 – I saw this amazing story on Facebook about this nice guy who, rather than giving money, invited a homeless man to grab a bite to eat with him. They took selfies together, and shared very interesting convo’s, and after their meal was over, this nice guy took the homeless man to Ross and purchased him a new outfit and underclothes. This story makes my heart SMILE <3 really renews my faith in humanity. #2 – I am a florist for a big chain, and one of our sister stores was a having a very important corporate visit. It was so sudden, and this store needed help setting up displays, so I worked over night (15 hours total for the day waaaa!!!) to get the department up and ready. The floral manager I was helping is a single mother who works a second job to make ends meet. When the floral manager came in to work, she was met with a picture perfect department… I had so much fun doing the work, and I was so happy to be able to help her. <3 <3 <3

The most amazing and beautiful thing I have ever seen is the bioluminescent bay in St. John. Montreal is the most beautiful city I have ever visited. Glacier Park in Montana is the most beautiful sight of nature I have ever seen. :). The world is amazing and there’s so much beauty left for me to see. I’m sure my top three will change in my lifetime.

I was very happy to have figured out a shortcut for a task at work. Suffice it to say it involved some excel wizardry. I know that sounds boring but it seriously saveed me HOURS of work and it made the boss happy. YAY!

The kiddos are going back to school tomorrow. I’m excited and sad…excited they won’t be home all day eating everything in sight and sad we are now back on the homework grind. Booooo. I have an advanced degree but mama ain’t smarter than a 5th grader (now have a 11th and 8th grader). Homework is HARD! *sad face*
What made ma happy this week? I am 100 % sure that the suprise which my brother and his wife made me. They got married on friday, the day when I turned 21. Despite the fact, that it was their special day, their wedding day, They also remember about me. They know that the birthday is really special day for me, and all guests and they were singing to me “Happy birthday” and gave me really special gift 🙂 Believe me, it really moved me, literally I was crying so much, because I didn’t think that they will remember about it. Despite the fact that I was crying (lol) I was really happy.
And If i were very rich for just one day I would donate a really big amount of money for poor dogs, cats and animals shelter and also for poor children 🙁

Three of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen:
1. Alaska. I actually live in the Northwest with the ocean, the forest, rivers and mountains and have been warned that the weather in Alaska is similar to my hometown–I didn’t expect to be impressed. I WAS. Jaw-dropping gorgeous views every time I looked up from my book while I lounged out on the chairs (I was on a cruise boat). It was amazing and I’ll never forget for as long as I live.
2. Arches National Park. I find the red rock country against a clear blue sky backdrop to be one of the most gorgeous places ever.
3. San Francisco.
