We’re currently experiencing a crazy heat wave here in California that’s not expected to break until Thursday. It’s so uncomfortably hot that clothes are annoying! 🤣 I’ve changed my top three times already because even my lightest cotton shirt feels like a heavy sweater. I have a series of meetings today, and quite honestly, I don’t know if I can deal with makeup sitting on my face. I like comfy sheer textures and lightweight formulas, but just the thought of my fave lightweight concealer in this heat feels oppressive. It may just be a brows, mascara and lip gloss kinda day on this end.
How about you? Do you bother with makeup when it’s broiling outside?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Stay cool in this heat, my friend!

Dang! And I thought it was warm here in North Dakota! My everyday makeup isn’t much more than concealer, foundation, brows, mascara, and a little blush so I don’t change my makeup routine too much. I have A/C at work and at home (not central air but A/C units) so if I don’t want to be exposed to the sweltering air outside I don’t have to be!

Redwood City which used to have a National Weather Service office and the slogan “Climate Best by Government Test” hit 107 yesterday. Sigh. When I moved here 35 years ago I don’t remember it ever getting this hot. My apartment in The City didn’t have A/C nor did the first house Dear Husband I bought.
Yesterday applied sunscreen and then an SPF face tint from Shiseido. I tried a new mascara, put on lip balm and called it a day.
I’m wearing sunscreen today. That’s it.
All I can say is at least it isn’t humid, too. I heard LA has it really bad right now because in addition to the heat, hurricane Kay is pushing moisture up the coast and the humidity was 85% yesterday.

That’s really hot for your area! I lived in California for about 10 years and I remember it being quite comfortable in and around the Bay area. We don’t get too many super hot days in Chicago, it’s usually mild (makes up for a winter that lasts 6 months) but when it’s hot I wear just wear sunscreen, a multi-purpose stick (Ilia is a favorite) that I can use on cheeks, lips, and eyes, and a swipe of waterproof mascara.

Nope. I live in South Florida, 98 with 85% humidity. Mascara, blush and lip balm. And SPF of course.

i rarely wear makeup these days. with the triple digits, and honestly, anything over 80, i feel like moisturizer and sunscreen are still heavy. 😂 depending where i’m going, i’ll at least fill in brows, but yowzas. i want sweater weather!

I heard about the horrible heat in the Bay area. Oh dear!! It has been hot and humid here in PA, but today, we got a lot of rain. I’ll try not to complain about 90 degree weather, when people in other states are dealing with triple digits. Anyway, when I’m really hot, I just wear concealer under my eyes, some mascara, and lipstick. My face always seems to look a bit flushed when I’m hot, so I don’t even need blush. LOL!!

I do. I’m only going from my air-conditioned house to an air-conditioned car to air-conditioned buildings and back, so I see no reason to not look my best!

I wear sunscreen, mascara and Dr Hauschka colour correcting face powder. It does a great job of evening out redness and takes the shine off my face too!

I’m in Fairfield, CA and we broke a record on Monday @ 116!!!
I actually will put a little bare minerals powder on, a neutral eye shadow and some mascara if I’m going to go out anywhere. After a big layer of sunscreen of course.

I wear the same thing regardless of the weather, but it’s minimal. Sunscreen, blush, mascara, fill my brows and put some powder shadow on my upper lash line as a liner (held in place by a bit of pro prime on my lids). It’s usually in the 80s here in the summer and the humidity is always high. But I wore the same in Vegas when it was triple digits and also in the Keys, where it doesn’t matter if you’re in long sleeves or a tank top – you’ll be hot and drenched regardless. 🙂 Stay cool!!

When it is boiling, I do my eyes and lips and a touch of concealer under my eyes, but nothing else – I would sweat it off anyway!
