The makeup brand I’m currently obsessed with is Maybelline. I used to only look at drugstore brands for dupes of higher-end stuff, but I think Maybelline products are really great in their own right. Their BB Cream is great and is comparable to a lot of higher-end BB Creams and their mascaras, of course, are amazeballs.

A few years ago, when I was backpacking with a friend through China, we took one train from Beijing to Chengdu – that was a 36 hour ride, as the plane touched down on 4pm, so by the time we got to the right train station they only had tickets to the longest ride possible, and to top that, it was a standing ticket as they ran out of every other type as well…
So potentially we were supposed to be standing the whole time. Thankfully some people were really nice and let us sit for a bit (seeing two foreigners on that part of the train was a bit of a shock, I suspect), and as it wasn’t full all the time, we were able to nap on a chair every now and again towards the end of the ride.
Let’s just say that from that moment on, we ordered the train tickets in advance, and only for a sleeping cabin 🙂

My favourite brand changes because I get too distracted, but I definitely have a soft spot for Chanel — they were my first high end purchases. Also I’m finding Clarins to be rather good! And have been very impressed with the few Hourglass products I’ve tried.

Here is Australia it was a hot day, reaching 28*C (or 82*F). I went for a walk along the coast and somehow managed to get a sunburn even with applying an SPF 50+ every hour. 🙁 But it was a beautiful walk.

When I was just out of high school I bought a Eurorail pass and traveled across Europe by train with my best friend. We backpacked and stayed in hostels. Most trips were quite short but the longest one was from Greece into Turkey which took forever!

I think the farthest I ever traveled by train was from Seoul to Busan. It was a super cool experience, since it was a high speed train and riding in an exotic place made it extra special. I miss those days. 🙂

What a great contest! To answer one of your questions, the longest train ride I ever took was from Glasgow to London, it was 5 hours! However, I got a really sweet deal on first class tickets (they cost the same as regular during the sale that let me snap them up!) so I spent those 5 hours drinking wine and having sandwiches brought to me,it was amazing 🙂

I am really loving the Maybelline and L’oreal Lip lacquer balms, they’re almost like liquid lipsticks.
Right now most of my products are by Benefit, as a makeup artist once did a demonstration and I was so impressed that I went out and bought everything that she used! Predictably, I don’t use everything – the cheek/lip stainer, for example, but that’s more because I don’t have the occasion to use it.
However, my favourite brands have to be Rimmel and CoverGirl. As I live in Australia, we don’t always have the same lines as in the US (which is such a pity because I really love the look of them and, being an total novice in the makeup area, I have no idea where to buy it online). I love the Rimmel lipglosses, whereas for CoverGirl I find myself going back to their mascaras over and over again.
