So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of five more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007). I love reading your answers, and it helps me get my week off to a good start. ?

A necklace with a very sturdy clasp so I can’t lose it, ha!

Moisturizing and smoothing would be fantastic!
4. ’90s hair or ’80s hair?
Um, both? I guess ’80s if I have to choose one because the era was more curly-hair friendly. In the ’90s, I was constantly fighting my natural wave with hair dryers, flat irons and ALL THE HEAT TOOLS under the sun. It took up an inordinate amount of my time.
5. A shade of nail polish you rarely (or never) wear?
I rarely wear orange nail polish, which is kinda funny to me because I don’t mind donning a colorful orange top or dress on occasion.
6. If you had to give yourself a shot (like, with a real-deal needle), how would you do?
I’d do alright, believe it or not. I’d take a few deep breaths and say to myself, “You can do this, queen,” and that would be that. Funny thing is, I hate needles — HATE THEM WITH A PASSION — but when I was pregnant with Connor I had gestational diabetes, and I had to stick myself with a small needle a few times a day to test my blood sugar. The first time was at the doctor’s office when they were showing me how to do it, and I had a full-on anxiety attack! It was not pretty, LOL! But after that day, I was totally fine.
7. Choose one brightly colored lipstick — hot pink, true red, bright orange or violet?
Let’s go with a bright, true red!
8. Confetti cake or cherry pie?
Cherry pie, because it takes more effort to chew, and therefore I will eat it slower. 😉
9. Favorite place to take a nap?
My living room couch, or Connor’s room. OH! Or in the car during long drives. I’m that person in the passenger seat with her mouth hanging open and her head lolling about, ha ha ha. I rarely nap in my own bedroom for some reason, hmm!

Bright pink. On a related note, I gave myself a pedicure this weekend with a shade described as “olive gray,” which sounds drab, but ended up really lovely I think. It’s a nice neutral that will work great in the fall too.

True red. Haven’t worn in ages but maybe I’ll give it a shot this week on National Lipstick Day!

Confetti cake! I remember when Pillsbury first came out with the mix sometime in the ’80s and begging my grandmother for us to make one. I can’t resist sprinkles.

Somehow I missed the shot question! I would be less than thrilled but I’d do what I gotta do. My dad has to give himself a medication via injection so I would probably consult with him!

I’m so glad to be sitting here in my air conditioned office filling out this poll. I had a car accident this morning and I’m okay and the other driver is okay (I think), it was really scary and could have been a lot worse if I’d been speeding.
Please keep paws crossed for me that the insurance company doesn’t total my car!–it’s driveable but it needs a new bumper. And that my rates don’t shoot up too high. This was my first accident since I turned 16 and started driving. I’m 51! I think that should count for something.

Hi Karen! I know you go to Hawai’i often, so what are your favorite places on Oahu, Kaui, and/or Maui? Mom and I are going in January and love some places to eat, see, etc etc etc.

The only piece I wear with some consistency these days is necklace that’s a silver chain with my Grampy’s wedding ring on it.

Oh lord. My shampoo and conditioner have two very different things in them as they are custom created for me (I have a really sensitive, inflamed scalp that’s oily and yet dry. Ugh.) If I had to pick, moisturizing and clarifying. (Seriously, mine is more, calming, clarifying, debrassifying, moisturizing and clarifying. I think. I’d have to check the labels.)
