So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).
1. Gel cream or face oil?
I’ll take the face oil, please! Pack it with antioxidants and please make it layer nicely under makeup.
2. Curly, coily or wavy?
My hair has natural waves, but I don’t really go out of my way to maximize their shape.
3. Blue, black or brown winged liner?
I would love a beautiful navy blue today.
4. Something you plan on doing this week?
It’s supposed to not rain this week, so I’d like to go for a few short 10-minute walks throughout the day. I find that when I spend time outside during my breaks, I feel so much better mentally and physically. I’m trying to get more consistent about it.
5. Who does the best beauty gifts with purchase?
Honestly, no clue at the moment. It’s not a motivating factor for me, but if you happen to know any good ones, I’d love the info.
6. Micellar water: yes or no?
Eh, if I have a bottle around, sure, I’ll say yes. But it’s not like I freak out or anything when I run out.
7. Something small you’d like to buy next time you go beauty shopping?
I need to get some scrunchies. All mine have disappeared. I wear them to get at night (I pile my hair on the top of my head and loosely secure them with the scrunchie), and they’ve all but disappeared. I think they fall out in the middle of the night, then Rosie takes them and hides them somewhere in the house.
8. Something nice you can do for yourself this week?
I’m going to treat myself to some “me time” with a nice lunch at a place I like in town, Blue Barn!

7. Something small you’d like to buy next time you go beauty shopping? Rare Beauty lip gloss – it’s not sticky it’s almost a balm but shiny
8. Something nice you can do for yourself this week? Go running. I’m doing a 5k at the end of the month and I just started running again after recovering from surgery. I don’t want to die doing this race 🙂

Face oil! It’s still winter here (snowstorm tomorrow, ugh) and my face is still mighty dry!

My hair is straight as can be. I sometimes wish I had naturally curly hair though I know it can be hard to maintain.

Black.
4. Something you plan on doing this week?
Make a sweet potato and lentil soup, and homemade pan pizza.
5. Who does the best beauty gifts with purchase?
Macy’s used to have some good ones with Clinique, Estée Lauder, and Lancôme. Our Macy’s closed long ago and I don’t tend to shop online there.
6. Micellar water: yes or no?
Yes – a moisturizing one before I apply moisturizer. Did I mention my face is dry?!
7. Something small you’d like to buy next time you go beauty shopping?
Cotton balls and Q-tips.
8. Something nice you can do for yourself this week?
Give myself time to bake. I made cookies on Saturday while my mom babysat and it was very therapeutic. Plus the girls loved the cookies!
Ooh, what kind of cookies did you make?
Peanut butter with peanut butter chips. Very peanut-buttery! I just got the word that the University has cancelled classes for the next 3 days because of the storm we’re expecting, so it sounds like I’ll have some time to bake!

2. Curly, coily or wavy? I have naturally wavy hair that is turning more towards curly now a days
3. Blue, black or brown winged liner? Brown(inspiredly you :)) I am not great at getting the wing right so with brown even if it is bit wonky I can smudge it and it does not look bad
4. Something you plan on doing this week? Get my car washed, it needs a wash badly
5. Who does the best beauty gifts with purchase? hmm.. don’t know
6. Micellar water: yes or no? yes, after double cleansing to remove some stubborn eye makeup or traces of foundation near hairline
7. Something small you’d like to buy next time you go beauty shopping? A nice pink lipstick for summer that is not too bright or too nude.
8. Something nice you can do for yourself this week? Making a day trip to SFO, I live just 30 miles aways and its been months we can gone to the city.

Gel cream, I’ve yet to find a face oil my skin likes.

Wavy – I can get some really good texture when I want to.

Brown, but lil bebe wings. Kitten liner, if you will. Black always feels too harsh on me.
4. Something you plan on doing this week?
We’ve rented a cabin for a long weekend and I’m looking forward to cozy fires and birding!

These aren’t really motivators for me? I was pleasantly surprised by a mini-mascara from BareMinerals last time I ordered, that ish is like $13.

Nah. Can’t say I’ve really used it, and my skin seems to be doing pretty fine.

De-puffing eye patches. I like to have a few on hand.

1. Gel cream or face oil? I love face oils and since there is such a wonderful selection, it’s easy to find one that is perfect for my skin’s condition whatever that might be.

4. Something you plan on doing this week? Go to the market! We had house guests over the weekend and the cupboard is bare—lol
5. Who does the best beauty gifts with purchase? I have no idea because they don’t influence my purchases.
6. Micellar water: yes or no? No. Even the very best of the best can leave a bit of film that eventually irritates my sensitive skin.
7. Something small you’d like to buy next time you go beauty shopping? Something small . . . Well, it’s not small in cost, but it’s small in size. There’s a Gucci lipstick I’ve been eyeing called Three Wise Girls.
8. Something nice you can do for yourself this week? Go to the market! (See #4). I know it’s a psychological thing, but I always feel better when I have a fully stocked kitchen.
Re: your answer to #8. I’m the same way. I get anxious when items in the fridge or pantry get low.
