Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).

4. A Thanksgiving dish you don’t like? Green Bean Casserole, no one in my family likes it. We mix a small tub of garden vegetable cream cheese with a can of cream of mushroom soup, and add that to a bag of thawed California veggies and top with sourdough croutons before baking.

2. Your two favorite seasons? Spring and Fall, but only because Summer is unbearable in my area, and Winter usually doesn’t have snow – it has ice and sleet that make driving difficult and sometimes causes power outages through breaking tree limbs onto power lines.

4. A Thanksgiving dish you don’t like? A lot of them. Green bean casserole, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, turkey that’s been allowed to dry out.
5. A color that makes you happy? Turquoise blue, the color of the sky in the desert. When I lived in the Mojave Desert as a child, I’d frequently look up and just marvel at the clear blue sky above.

Turkey — even before I became vegetarian I was not a fan.

Cobalt blue.
1. Butter on your toast – yes or no? Yes. I like demi sel beurre d’Isigny. Thankfully the farmer’s market near me usually has it in stock. Although my trainer has been trying to get me to eat my toast with olive oil.

4. A Thanksgiving dish you don’t like? Turkey, pumpkin pie, etc. I don’t know who decided these were the foods we’re supposed to eat on T-day, but I don’t like many of them. I’d rather make Zuni Cafe’s roasted chicken with bread salad, Kenji-Lopez Alt’s crispiest oven roasted potatoes or a roasted sweet potato, Smitten Kitchen’s broccoli slaw and an apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Sorry, not sorry.

1. Butter on your toast – yes or no? Yeah, either salted butter or unsalted with Everything But the Bagel or garlic powder.

3. Pick your red lipstick for the day – what’s the name? Still don’t really have a good color that looks true red on me. I need a dark brick color to balance out how pink my lips are.
4. A Thanksgiving dish you don’t like? The candied yams/sweet potatoes. I have a good savory sweet potato recipe, but I can’t stand that brown sugar/marshmallow version.
5. A color that makes you happy? Most blues or purples (clothing).
