Makeup and Beauty Blog Saturday Steals, Feb. 14

February 14th, 2009 by Karen 17 Comments

What’s up, ladies? The sun peeked through the clouds long enough for my bargin-lurvin’ self to hit the mall for some V-Day R&R. My mission: Valentine’s Day deals.

With the dual-holiday weekend, V-Day/President’s Day, the stores were really pushing their sales hard.

Aerosoles

Aerosoles had a whole bunch of shoes on sale for $10 a pair, like this super cute black high heel, the $79 Trap Mind Pump, with criss-cross detailing in front.

Unfortch, the only Trap Mind left in stock was a pair of size 11s (I wear a 7), pooh!

Too bad these beige patent leather heels with polka dot piping (Benefit Pump, $89) weren’t on sale, but you never know with Aerosoles. They switch up their sale merch often, so hopefully sooner or later they mark ’em down.

J. Crew

This Ruffle Favorite Tank in yellow was heavily marked down — $10, down from $34.50.

What do you think of this giraffe print makeup bag for $15? Not bad, right? If I close my eyes, I can see it filled with MAC. 🙂

I liked these strapless cotten Lorelei dresses for $78, originally $98…

If this $18 patent leather yellow headband had been on sale, I would have brought it home with me.

Gap

As usual for Gap, half of the store seemed like it was on sale. I seriously considered a 2-for-$20 sale on these colorful tank tops (above).

El Hub started getting antsy, so I sent him to the Apple Store (mall daycare for boyfriends/husbands) before heading to Kate Spade.

Kate Spade

Kate was having a sale, too — 25% off her her new spring line. What do you think of these pink Union Square bags, regularly $225-455?

Several things were 50% off.

My favorites were these sandals, appropriately called Lovely. The green pair on the left was 50% off ($149, marked down from $298); the gold pair on the right was marked down 25% ($224, originally $298).

What do you think of this silver number? She’s called Clara, on sale for 50% off ($149, marked down from $289).

As great as the sales were, I still came home empty handed. I think I had sale overstimulation, which happens to me sometimes when there are just too many good deals to decide.

I might go back for one of those $10 tops at J. Crew…

El Hub and I are keeping V-Day low key this year. We went to our favorite Thai restaurant for a Valentine’s Day lunch and just got back from a movie date. We saw He’s Just Not That Into You. All the way I home in the car I kept saying, “Tabs is just not that into you.”

I hope you had a good one.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Those green Kate Spade shoes are to DIE for 🙂
I had a nice Valentine’s day too. Quiet and then in the evening we went dancing with a whole bunch of Erasmus students. It was fun.

Happy post V-day Karen! Haha ironically I watch ‘He’s Just Not That Into You’ the day before V-day. I twittered my boy and said, “WATCH IT!” 😛

Those strapless dresses are to die for! But oh so expensive 🙁

OOOH! Love the that giraffe bag! Also those little white and yellow dresses are great! Totally reminds me of summer! And those silver sandals are awesome! I’m totally in the mood to shop for summer shoes lately, but theres still several inches of snow and ice on the ground here. I do have a good excuse to shop for shoes though, my cousin is getting married in september and I’m the maid of honor 🙂 Yay for excuses to buy stuff!

Oooh I should check out Aerosoles. I have flat feet and I’m always standing for my job. Tennis shoes are comfy but so not cute.

LOL at “Tabs is not just that into you” 😀 I’m also being overstimulated by all these sales. Seriously, I feel like being ripped off all these years when a 30% off was considered a big of a deal.

I love the strapless dresses and that yellow J. Crew top. I have a top that looks exactly like that except it’s a cream color and I bought it at Old Navy last fall. Glad you had a nice V-Day. My husband had to work all day thanks to the all stars game but when he got home we went to his sister’s wedding reception. It was okay but we both just wanted to be home 😉
