Nails of the Week, Smith & Cult Bitter Buddhist | Your Thoughts on Lash Serum?

Smith & Cult Bitter Buddhist

Hi, guys! This is an OG fave shade that I’ve had and loved for years, Smith & Cult Bitter Buddhist. It’s a pale spring green with gray undertones and a fun alternative to the typical pastel mint greens that so often pop up in the spring.

I love it because it’s one of those colors that can look completely different depending on the light. Sometimes it’s more green, other times it’s more blue!

I was poking around the Smith & Cult website recently, and noticed there’s a similar shade with a different name — Bitter Cashmere Daydream. If you love complex pale greens, this is definitely one to consider.

Your thoughts on lash serum?

Why yes, I added big lashes to this pony.

I’ve been trying to figure out why every mascara I’ve worn in the last few months has been sorely disappointing, and I think I might’ve found the reason. After years of using lash serum to bump up my fringe, I quit last fall. There was really no rhyme or reason to the decision; I was mostly too tired to remember to put it on before bed! Days turned into weeks, then weeks turned into months, then next thing ya know, every mascara bums me out.

I think my lashes have slowly returned to their natural state, which is in the grand scheme of things is no big deal. But still.

On one hand, it’s one less thing for me to do in my routine (YES), but on the other hand, my hella basic lashes are back. LOL.

What are your thoughts on lash serums? Do you use them? Don’t use them? If you’ve used them in the past and quit, what happened to your lashes? I’d love to hear your story.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I use a lash serum. I really like Revitalash Advanced, but for some reason Nordstrom says they can’t deliver it to CA addresses.
I tried Grande Lash and I’m on the fence about it. Neulash burns and stings my eyes.
I find that I got the best length the first time I used a lash serum. Now I get some length but not as much as I initially did. I took a break from using it after the holidays and my lashes are a little shorter. But I haven’t worn mascara since December, so I can’t say for certain.

I use one. I had tried a very well-known (and pricey) one that caused me to get styes in both eyes so I quit. Finally, I got brave and tried my sample of Me Time Botanicals Lash and Brow serum. When I hit 60 I realized my eyebrows had gone from “Brook Shields” to “Gloria Swanson” so I started using it on my brows. Then my lashes. My lashes DO look better and they are not as sparse and it does NOT irritate my eyes.

Grande lash serum works wonders for me. I had stick straight lashes that only stayed curled with waterproof mascara then I started using the serum and within a week, I kid you not, I could see a difference. And it only kept getting better after continued use. People keep asking me if I got lash extensions or if I’m wearing falsies.

Costco had RapidLash on special discount around Black Friday, and I bought it (as well as the brow version) on a whim. I’ve been using both for about three months, and a few weeks ago I noticed my lashes we’re looking particularly lush! It took some time, but then suddenly they looked killer, and I find myself batting my eyelashes at myself in the mirror. 🤣 I don’t even really need mascara anymore, though I do wear it, and I look like I have on a particular good set of subtle falsies.

So… yeah, it’s an extra step, and sometimes I’ll forget— I probably average application about 5x a week. I’m not sure if I’ll continue it “forever,” but my one tube is still going strong at three months (and it was a two-pack), so I’m probably set for a year. I do love the results. I’ve done a lot more for less impressive results in the name of beauty!

I haven’t noticed much of a difference in the brows, although I think minor improvement might have begun to be noticeable just this week.

I can’t live without my serum lol. I use Revitalash. It’s not cheap but Nordstrom usually offers a deal during their anniversary sale and I grab a few then. It’s the first thing that I apply when I sit down to do my makeup. By the time I apply my face primer, and choose what colors I want to wear for the day, it’s dry. It’s a game changer for my self-confidence as it opens up my eyes and you can actually look at my eyes instead of the wrinkles and bags around them.

I’ve used Revitalash Advanced for 5+ years now and love it. Can’t imagine going back to my “old lashes”. lol

I have four lines of stubble that I call lashes, so I’ve used serums off and on for years. Revitalash is good I like Grandelash. My favorite is Lash Boost. Some people have feelings about MLMs, but Lash Boost is very good. Pricey, too.

Nulastin for the win! I’m in the midst of chemo, no hair, but I STILL have lashes and brows, thank goodness. I get Nulastin on an automatic delivery program, but one brow and one lash tube last me a good 3 or 4 months.

I use one and whenever I don‘t for prolonged periods of time I end up hating every mascara until I remember that is what my lashes look like without the serum and that it isn‘t the mascaras fault.

I haven’t tried the lash serum, but I was using GrandeBrow. I stopped a while back and now I’m regretting that. There’s a sizable sparse patch in each brow that’s difficult to fill in. So I can see how stopping a lash serum would probably lead to the same thing.

You know, GrandeLash actually has a couple of mascaras. Maybe that would help?

I liked Neulash a lot. I have extremely sensitive eyes and more likely than not ocular rosacea, so I’m holding off on adding anything like that back in until I see an ophthalmologist. I know my derm offers Latisse but I want to make sure it won’t make my eyes worse than they already are.

Have you tried mascara with built in lash serum? Chantecaille and By Terry both have Mascaras with serums in them. They are on the pricey side but they do kill two birds with one stone so to speak.
My top lashes ( that I used to put lash serum on) still look good but it’s my lower lashes I’m pretty chuffed with- they looked sparse before but now look fuller and less gappy.

I loved the results of Grandelash on my eyelashes, however I stopped using it because it made hair my grow on my upper cheek bones just under my eyes! It turned some very sparse peach fuzzy facial hair into dark, black, long hairs!
