Good morning, friend! Happy Saturday. So, I went to Ulta yesterday and saw this “Saved By the Bell” limited edition makeup collection. First, I thought, weird, who asked for this?
Don’t get me wrong — I liked the show back in the ’90s, but is it just me, or does a collaboration between the characters of Bayside High and a makeup collection seem like a big stretch now? Perhaps about 20 years too late?
But I digress.
I’m sure there are super fans who are stoked by this collection, though! I know a handful of ladies who might appreciate the setting spray with a young and shirtless Mario Lopez (please note his curly mullet).
Oh, and in case you were unaware, “Saved By the Bell” is a tween/teen show about a group of high school friends, and several of its actors and actresses are still around doing stuff today, like Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tiffani Amber Thiessen. I wonder what they think about the makeup! I would probably cringe at the thought of teenage me kissing someone on a blush/highlighter compact.

I want to go here!
Just in case you need this today.
Have I ever mentioned that I love Goldfrapp?
I guess I probably shouldn’t have said that the weather had been cooler than usual the other day or mentioned wearing sweaters because it was 102 degrees here yesterday, and it’s supposed to hit 97 today, ahhh!
Guess I’ll take Coywolf for a swim.
What are you up to this weekend? Whatever it is, I hope all is well. Have a great day.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

We’ve been around 90 here in Michigan so much, it’s awful. We don’t have central air (a lot of older houses and rentals around here don’t – you didn’t used to need it in Michigan!). We have big portable air conditioners, one for upstairs and one for downstairs, but you can’t run them both at the same time.
That’s so weird to do a Saved by the Bell collection. I never watched it as a kid, I was at an age where I was more into cartoons 😹 I saw a Lisa Frank nail collection on the Ulta site that looked cool – too bad I don’t like wearing nail polish!

I was really little when Saved by the Bell originally aired, but as an adult I caught some episodes on a broadcast-TV nostalgia channel, and I think it’s more interesting and better-written than some of the other 80s/90s teen dramedies. No, I’m not naming names, and no, I’m not referring to 90210-that one’s more a straight-up teen soap. The Jessie and Lisa lip kits are pretty!

So I never watched Saved By The Bell. I think it was passed my prime. I did however, go “old school” recently at Ulta and bought the UD Naked Basics2 palette again. I was looking for something small with mostly matte neutrals and decidedI could spend over $50 for a Chanel. Quad or Dior Quint but figured for now why? I can get the look I want for much less. I was able to buy other things I needed as well. Life on a budget right now!
Be well.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched an ep of Saved by the Bell, but I certainly know the gist. I think they had a reboot on one of the streaming channels recently. Maybe that’s reignited interest? OMG, on the tiny dog being trimmed like a bonsai! Too darn cute.
I’m sorry I jinxed you with the weather. We’re back in the 80s with high humidity today but it looks like it’s cooling down after tomorrow.
